Being a Provider means you’re ready to sell your app on ArcGIS Marketplace. To learn more about the requirements and process visit: https://www.esri.com/en-us/arcgis-marketplace/become-provider. To help our startups get a jump start we’ve prepared a Marketplace Readiness Checklist* divided into four main topic areas: Product Readiness Marketing Readiness Support Readiness Sales Readiness Marketplace Readiness Checklist* Product Readiness The potential provider is out of beta and actual user testing has been completed The potential provider has built its app/solution with the right Esri SDK or API. We want to ensure you are using the right Esri tools for the type of solution you are looking to achieve. developers.arcgis.com. Web API’s ArcGIS Runtime SDK’s App Builders (Web App Builder, etc.) Does your app or content meet the ArcGIS Marketplace and ArcGIS Online OAuth 2.0 criteria? Leverage ArcGIS Online subscriptions—Apps listed in the marketplace add value to the ArcGIS Online subscription. The apps provide focused solutions and specialized functionality that can be used in conjunction with content associated with the customer's ArcGIS Online account User login with OAuth 2.0—ArcGIS Marketplace targets accounts within ArcGIS Online subscriptions and, therefore, all apps listed in the marketplace must require users to securely sign in to the platform using OAuth 2.0 Does your App or Solution require other Esri products? If so which ones? ArcGIS Enterprise, Desktop, or Pro for example. Ensure your app isn’t using any Esri service that has or will be deprecated in the near future? If your product is based on the Runtime SDK’s, does it support offline workflows that consume the initial offline basemaps from ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise and does it include a Sync Enabled Geodatabase with proper Runtime licensing? Other questions to ask – Deployment model - Fully cloud-based, hybrid or on-premises. Ensure users understand these important characteristics. What type of security issues does the ultimate user need to consider? How do you plan on providing updates or bug fixes for users? What is coming in your longer-term roadmap? What does the current competitive landscape look like and how is your product different? Do we have sufficient “self-help” support and documentation for the Product available? Marketing Readiness Esri partner logo on website When applicable, Esri map displayed on Providers app and marketing (webpages, fliers, etc) Provider is meeting the Esri branding guidelines for the App as well as their organization representation of our partners. (Access guidelines on Partner Portal) Esri Partner Directory populated and educates the community about your company and solutions Product solving an ArcGIS user problem – value proposition to our users is clear You understand the addressable market for this product. Are you ready to educate Esri teams on the value of your offering? Is your App or Content applicable to one or more Esri Industry Sector teams? Your product has a “dedicated” landing page on your website. You have all the necessary marketing content ready to ensure your Marketplace listing is as clear and informative as possible (screenshots, images, YouTube video, etc.) Your marketing plan, social media strategy, and more targeted campaigns are ready to be executed. Support Readiness What are your plans for supporting users with technical issues? Do you offer sufficient self-help support documentation? Do you have staff ready to provide support? If so, phone or email? If phone, what are the hours? Is there a workflow / capability for users to submit issues (bugs)? Sales Readiness You have staff that is ready and capable to support purchase requests, trial request follow-up meetings, sales development activities and lead qualification. How do you process orders / take payment today if applicable and how would the Marketplace possibly augment this. Are you ready to educate Esri Sector teams (sales pitch)? Do you have the have sales materials ready? *This checklist is a guideline, always refer to marketplace.arcgis.com for the most up to date requirements, guidelines, and common questions. Are you a startup partner ready to sell your app or content on ArcGIS Marketplace, apply to become a provider. Hello Nathan, great question! It would be better to take this offline, perhaps you can email me directly at startups@esri.com? But you are correct in the naming of the app, StaveMaps for ArcGIS, would be the proper naming. I have a document I can share, but some content is confidential... Plus, I would love to learn how I can provide some marketing support to announce the integration and product launch! Here is an explanation, of course it's always best to check with our contract team, Copyright Information or Permissions question submissions. May I Use Arc in My Product Name? Esri has developed the Arc family of trademarks at considerable expense. All use of Arc in product or service names in the GIS mapping, services, or related fields is exclusive to Esri. To properly label your product and to identify affiliation with Esri products, you may name your product and then state, "for use with ArcGIS" (or other Esri trademarked products). Example: Bus Routing Application for ArcGIS . . . (not ArcGIS Bus Routing Application) Please note that you may not use Arc or any other Esri trademarked name in your product line unless Esri has granted you the specific right in a trademark license agreement. Use of Trademark Symbols: Word marks that have been registered in certain countries will use the registered mark symbol (®) when used in text. Many Esri word marks use a common-law trademark symbol (™) when used in text. Review Legal Information | Copyright and Trademarks | Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. The trademark symbol only needs to be used once, after the first appropriate use of the word mark in a document.

Enrich your Retail Sales Funnel with Hybrid Analytics | 2-3PM (EST) | Thursday, March 3rd For a long time now, retail store owners have been using in-store analytics to optimize their operations and grow their competitive advantage. Many competitive retailers today use technology in their stores to collect information like door counts and sales numbers. But, in the ever-evolving retail landscape, it’s not enough just to collect data inside your store. What’s happening outside your store can often be more important. That’s where the customer’s journey starts—or doesn’t start—after all. Ben Severance, a retail solutions expert at Placemeter, will take you through the competitive advantages of enriching indoor data with outdoor measurement, and how to empower your stores with the latest in hybrid analytics. This blog follows Patterns for Success in the Orientation Series Esri Startup Program ArcGIS Technical Alignment (How to Best Partner with Esri as a Startup Partner) ArcGIS alignment is a topic that includes a set of core business objectives that keep Esri teams, partner teams, and customers all moving in the same direction, together. It’s a major focus area within Esri’s Starrup Program and Partner Network (EPN) because it casts a vision about our company’s product road map with our business / licensing strategies so that business partners know the direction Esri is heading. It's key for Esri and Esri Partners to be aligned and work together to keep commitments that we are making to our customers. Plus the following characteristics are where real business value is delivered to the markets. ArcGIS Alignment Characteristics The first three points are critical to being an 'aligned partner' and will help our partners maximize channel development with Esri. To understand deployment and licensing for 3rd party revenue bearing apps, review our developer licensing FAQ and Application Implementation Strategy Resources: Esri ArcGIS: ArcGIS as a system of record—store and maintain all geographic information within the geodatabase and support Esri Web Maps or Hosted Layers stored in ArcGIS - allowing access to many different applications, ease of development, and easy sharing across the entire ArcGIS system. Learn more about how to work with data services - we encourage Esri partners to store all of their geographic / location data within ArcGIS. PaaS: Leverage Esri's ArcGIS Developer SDKs/APIs and ArcGIS Location Platform of market-leading location services as a platform as a service (PaaS) pay-as-you-go consumption pricing model. Use an ArcGIS authentication workflow to secure access to your offering from an API Key and/or user authentication. Integrate location into your apps and business systems with the most comprehensive and high-quality set of location services, data, and mapping tools available. SaaS: Co-sell or Subliscnese Esri technology and deploy using ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise by leveraging ArcGIS User Types for every person that will access your solution (see user types, roles, and privlidges). Authenticate by using ArcGIS User Types allowing either existing Esri customers to sign in with their own ArcGIS account, purchase ArcGIS users themselves (co-sell), or for non-Esri customers, explore the possibility of OEMing ArcGIS user types managed by the partner by sublicensing ArcGIS users, configurable apps, or specific ArcGIS technology offerings through a negotiated fee from a supported selling program (requires approval). These are additional characteristics that are important to Esri as well, see Application Implementation Strategy: Connect to ArcGIS with other systems, platforms, and data sources. This means going beyond surfacing maps and layers in these systems. It’s just as important to invent new tools that bring data back into ArcGIS. You can use Esri-supported open standard and interoperability formats for example, ArcGIS Developer APIs and SDKs, or Esri products like ArcGIS Pro...see esri.github.io Create and register an array of useful information products (using web maps) easily discovered in the Portal. Review our developer licensing FAQ. Adopt a configure-first philosophy, configuring COTS apps, when possible, to deliver the capabilities your end-users need. Use this configuration to quickly get feedback on proposed workflows, interfaces or experiences. Enable every employee and contractor to easily discover, use, make, and share maps from any device, anywhere, any time. Ensure customer success by providing ongoing, routine assistance starting with initial operating capabilities, guidance and advice, and ongoing technical support. Our core sales teams deliver immediate value to Esri customers by supporting their existing investment in Esri technology. When appropriate, they work with aligned partners to extend the core offerings through focused partner apps, solutions, and content that work seamlessly with Esri software, preferably via a co-sell approach requiring ArcGIS user type authentication or deployment directly into the customer's ArcGIS system. One key to success in partnering with Esri is having champions inside an industry sector / vertical. Once alignment is achieved, a wide array of marketing and sales enablement activities typically happen. It's all about finding that win/win/win alignment for the customer, the partner, and Esri. With these characteristics in place, the goal is to always stay deeply committed to customers and drive innovation in ways that will bring customers positive experiences and returns on their technology investments – both partner products and core Esri products. In sharing these objectives, we invite the entire partner network and developer community to always build solutions in line with these characteristics and objectives and stay committed to customers by helping them be successful. Learn more about Esri's ArcGIS Architecture Practices for Success To ensure that Esri partners have the best solution architecture in place to support partner alignment, product/market fit, and the best solution architecture patterns, we recommend speaking to an Esri solution engineer or Esri or partner professional services resource.
