Thank you for posting this @XanderBakker this is exactly what we were looking for in our Urban Search and Rescue search segment planning tool. You rock!

Another common workflow for "copy features" is appending a list of 911 phone calls into another layer like waypoints that need follow-up. This is a common workflow for flood response and often this needs to be done by a first responder because no GIS Specialist is assigned to the incident in the early phases. We are also exploring Field Maps Tasks and would need to use copy features to create assignments "in bulk" when combined with batch attribute editing (which will be another enhancement request for ExB). Please consider making copy features a core component of editing in ArcGIS Online (or at least Experience Builder), not just Web Editor. Web Editor works well and we like where it is headed, but we really want to support our first responders with a one stop shop application in Experience Builder versus teaching them "another app". @JeffShaner

I understand this may not be easy to build into Experience Builder and might need to be built into Web Map Viewer / core functionality. In any case, the fewer the clicks the better and if there is a workaround or best practice I am open to other approaches!

Real-world Problem: In Urban Search & Rescue we need to quickly turn raw information into actionable intelligence. One common workflow is receiving an address or coordinate where someone is in distress and needs rescue or evacuation. Technical Problem: Currently in Experience Builder the user would need to use the search widget, type in an address / coordinate - THEN - open the edit widget and place a new point at that location. Proposed Solution: Create a trigger / action that allows the end user to quickly type an address and send it to the edit widget for adding a feature. Currently this requires 3 or more clicks in Experience Builder. This already works in Field Maps and is easy to use. Also it looks like there are triggers from Search to other widgets like "Near Me" (labeled as Impact below).

WARNING: If you try to "regroup" these layers, they disappear from the configuration and essentially blow up the widget, so don't do that.

Workaround for now: Ungroup the item in the web map This allows the layers (or groups within) to be accessed by the widget. This not ideal because now I broke the connection between the group item and this web map, but should buy us some time until Group Items are fully supported. Thank you @AlixVezina

Real-world Problem: To stay organized and consistent across web maps, we want to take advantage of the new Group Layer items to keep our most essential reference layers together and use the layers of these Group Layer Items for impact analysis. What are Group Layer Items? Blog: Group Layer Items: A new way to build and share content (esri.com) Doc: Organize layers (Map Viewer)—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation Example: a35825 - Minimum Essential Dataset (MED) Base Data for US&R - Overview (arcgis.com) Technical Problem: Group Layer Items cannot be accessed by the NearMe Widget in Experience Builder (ArcGIS Online). In this web map, the Incident Data group were made in the web map but not saved as items. The "MED" Groups for Live Feeds and Base Data highlighted below are Group Layer Items added to the web map. Copy of Web Map with Group Layer Item retained: COPY OF ace40c Sandbox v9 Intel Manager 2.0 Web Map (arcgis.com) Original Web Map that I will ungroup the item to fix (hopefully): https://www.arcgis.com/apps/mapviewer/index.html?webmap=79bb4e40e36b4423b3db81a7adace40c Experience Builder NearMe configuration, note the layer groups made in the web map (but not saved as items) load and are accessible, but the Group Layer Items highlighted above do not show up here.

We just started testing this out and like the new approach. It is a little too limited to do hands-on testing for our workflows at the moment but acknowledge the road map above. Our use case is managing the status of various field observations and calls for rescue. We currently use Web AppBuilder (testing Experience Builder) but the table interface is not ideal and batch attribute editing requires a little extra training. See https://screenpal.com/u/FcTw/SARCOPTraining for more. Highest priority for us is: 1) The ability to choose field display order and field visibility in the table (right now, ALL of the fields display and in a sort of random order, this makes using the data very challenging). 2) Attribute filtering to filter features in the table (without this, it is difficult to manage larger datasets) 3) Batch editing to update multiple features at once (without this, it is difficult to manage larger datasets) 4) Additional layouts to display the table, pop-up panel and map in the app 5) Improved mobile support for the app One potential bug or design issue, it appears I cannot resize the width of the last column?

Update: The new print widget provided through the map viewer has some slight improvements to the printing interface but the print options and the output are nearly identifical to before. This is disappointing. I have not heard anything from the @ArcGISOnline Team or JavaScript Team on this topic. Again, I totally understand the move to using mobile apps. We have rolled out QuickCapture, Survey123, and Field Maps - they love the capability of seeing it on their phone. But first responders in the field still want a decent paper map for tactical decision making. It can be pretty frustrating telling the +8,000 members of the Urban Search and Rescue System that we are using ArcGIS Online because it is the best mapping platform for their mission, but then telling them to wait in line for me (or just a very small handful of GIS Specialists available) to print them a proper paper map or ask them to go to SARTopo to get the job done. We have carefully considered creating our own print utility and determined this would be a major investment of time/money and add complexity (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise, additional logins, etc.) to our system that is not scalable during disasters. We just want to know what to do next? How can we help Esri fix this problem? I don't want to use additional mapping platforms (e.g. CalTopo/SARTopo, Google Maps, Avenza) which are disconnected from our common operating platform, but right now that is the only feasible alternative. It seems like some relatively simple enhancements could go a long way. A similar idea was posted here in 2019 https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-online-ideas/arcgis-online-print-templates/idi-p/933816 @BjornSvensson @SudMenon anything else this community can do to help express how important this functionality is during disaster response and public safety in general? Any chance to provide actionable feedback at the EsriUC this year?

I cannot confirm but this sounds similar to an issue we (+ @JaredDoke) hit when copying layer and project templates from one organization to another. Can you try checking off/on "optimize drawing"? https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/manage-data/manage-hosted-feature-layers.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_736A1F3329BB46069CF1B62393705C4C It is probably best to put in an Esri Support ticket to be sure, but I hope this helps! @Mandy_Li any other ideas?

Jonathan - I’ve setup a QuickCapture Project so it points to a web map that has offline areas, but I’m not seeing them anywhere in the app. When I go offline it shows the grey placeholder map (not a map). Has this been implemented yet or is it delayed? I saw something about “map areas” in the json but didn’t want to mess with it since I couldn’t find any doc. I look forward to this capability!!!

Real-world Problem: In search and rescue (SAR), speed is critical. In wide area search operations however, some field data requires more precision than others. For example, when describing damage to a building it helps the local agency if the point is on a building footprint. We want to help SAR Teams accomplish this without slowing things down. Technical Solution: QuickCapture! Technical Problem: Right now, we are expecting the end-user to follow step #2 below, to drag the pin. If they forget to do this, the point may be in the middle of the street or whatever location they are standing in vs the actual impacted structure. They often forget this, so we'd like to prompt them. Proposed Technical Solution: Create a prompt that suggests to the end user, "Improve the accuracy of this point by "dragging the pin". This could be setup on individual buttons by the project author in the DATA tab (shown below). I am not sure what the new capability should be called, something like "Open map by default" and then maybe a small text box where the author can configure a short message? p.s. the same concepts above apply to Survey123, but it is a little easier to train them to drag the pin because we can add more text the layout of the app. @IsmaelChivite @KatieBreland @JaredDoke @JasonWarzinik @CollinGrove
