This idea is to provide the option to customize the field names in a table frame without modifying the fields themselves or converting to graphics. A logical place for this would be from the TOC tree underneath the table frame in question (slow double click or R click > Rename), or the element pane when R clicking a table frame field in the TOC > Properties.

I need this exact functionality. Changing field aliases is not an option when working with enterprise datasets (e.g., the NIFC National Event Feature Service); need a way to alias table frame field headers exclusively. I have wanted the ability to do this on every fire assignment I have been on for the last 3+ years.

I recently logged this with Esri Technical Support as ENH-000169654: Provide the capability of changing the field name for ArcGIS Pro Table Frame in the layout.

Any customers who can associate with the ENH will give it a better chance of seeing it implemented.

I'll check with my regional NPS ESRI liaison.

I wonder if it might be helpful to consider allowing users to rename the headings of a table frame. At the moment, the only way to change the heading of a table frame is to change the alias of a field within the feature class itself.

I feel this may not be sufficient, as there is often a difference between the data I am working on and what I want to show on a map.

For instance, I may have multiple area fields, such as calculated_area, measured_area and official_area. Having them named differently to clearly identify each of these is essential while working on them. However, when creating a map for a customer where only the measured_area is relevant, it would be beneficial to have the heading named simply as "Area" to streamline the process without completely restructuring the data.

Perhaps the best place for this would be in the element window of the table frame column with a field called "Title" or "Heading"?
