@JAM LRS configuration with Engineering network (referred to as Line Network in APR documentation) offers additional functionality like relocate with abandoned section, option to recalibrate downstream or not in a single workflow. The topic is discussed in detail at Realign routes APR users with a single network can still preserve the abandoned section by a combination of Realign Route and Reassign route .

@L77 Good progress! The Location Error tells you the reason why mileposts Events could not be placed on their respective routes. Route Without Measure: These routes did not get calibrated and has no M-values in the geometry. You can verify that using the Explore/Identify tool. Review the geometries of the uncalibrated routes; they may have complex geometries that is preventing measures. Multi-part, non-linear, self-intersecting geometries are examples that are not conducive to simple linear referencing. If the line geometries are fine, perhaps the process of calibration needs review. Route Measure Not Found: The route has measures but the milepost value is outside the measure range. Review and fix these event table records.

Thanks @BrianBaldwin - this is great! Wondering what major subjects/fields of studies can leverage ArcGIS Knowledge for project work. Where can educators find such resources, use cases?

@JRuggeri Most users will have internet access to create a map package that can then be taken offline. The process is described in the link; you can have a GIS admin or service provider to package the offline maps. If that is not an option for you, consider the following options: Esri Data & Maps Data Appliance for ArcGIS Reference: Living Atlas Data for On-Premises Use

@CaseyRayPeterson You are on the right track in finding the appropriate check for the use case. I moved the post to Data Reviewer for focus. Please post a screenshot of the check configuration parameters. @GoWest Wow - good observation on the MZ. The z-value of a feature is not considered when evaluating for intersections as in the check documentation. Evaluate Intersection Count

@L77 Thanks for the detailed notes along with screenshots - helps in understanding the use case. The workflow is better handled through Linear Referencing (simple functions) and Roads and Highways (advanced functions). You can get started with the following references: Linear referencing datasets Roads may be modelled as Routes with the Start/End locations as Calibration Points or simply update measures on the vertices. Create a simple table with the BMP values with desired increments of 1, 10 etc. Use the table to then generate the milepost point layer modelled as Route Events How to choose between linear referencing and location referencing The use case is discussed in the following posts: Creating points at hatch intervals along LRS routes Create Line segments from Point Locations referencing Linear feature

@JRuggeri This is a common use case and is certainly possible. The options are dependent on your GIS setup, the ArcGIS Apps being used and the required capabilities. Good place to start: https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/use/take-maps-offline.htm
