aaiz Me The UPDM template has objects for both utility network and linear referencing to support Pipeline Data Management using #arcgis pipeline referencing (APR) and/or arcgis utility network (UN). However, you can choose to implement UN only without linear referencing. You are running into a limitation of the Append Routes tool to load into the APR-UN integrated geodatabase. A workaround is as listed below: Use 'Append' to load PipelineLine Use 'Append' to load LRSnetwork Author a script to populate the Centerline_Sequence table. The table holds the cardinality / relationship between PipelineLine : LRSnetwork. Reference: LRS data model—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation Generate Calibration Points or Append Calibration Points. Finally, 'Generate Routes' to sync up the LRS components. You may not get it right in the first attempt. Review the log produced from step 5 and it will indicate what corrective action is needed.

Jelmer Akkerman The data should be prepared to populate all required fields. In this case, the Asset Type / Asset Group are among the Not Nullable fields in PipelineLine. A relational DB like SQL Server is more stringent in enforcing this rules than file GDB.

Michael Nigbor The UN-APR integrated editing workflow is as follows: digitize the Pipeline Line feature update the From and To Measure fields based on the survey length or best guess. This will depend on the linear unit of measurement set up, say 0 - 100 (feet). choose the digitized the Pipeline Line feature to create the route. you will see that the From and To Measure is auto populated as it is derived from your Pipeline Line feature.

APR uses a 'controller dataset' for linear referencing and the Centerline layer is included once configured with APR. Controller dataset is specifc to ArcGIS Pro and hence you get the error in ArcMap. More info: Feature datasets in ArcGIS Pro—ArcGIS Help | Documentation

Pro-APR can be used to look at each layer and find the event behavior rules. From Feature class properties, choose Location Referencing, then Event Behavior Rules. The Pro-APR LRS configuration GP tools should be used by admins to modify the event behaviors.

Since you are using a measured polyline layer(M-aware), you can use ST_Geometry functions to calculate the measure as an attribute.
