I would expect updates to basemaps to reflect new official naming conventions in vector tile basemaps to happen within the next couple of weeks. For Mount McKinley, the updated name will be across all vector basemaps since it is entirely within the U.S. boundary. For "Gulf of America," Gulf of Mexico will continue to be seen in global and regional vector basemap styles, a new US vector basemap style will be added and adopt the new name. Legacy raster tile basemaps will not be updated. Users can also use the Vector Tile Style Editor to make custom basemaps for use within their organization.

If you open the World Imagery basemap by going to Living Atlas website and opening it from item details in Map Viewer, you'll see the pop-ups. If you move that map to your basemap, you'll still see pop-ups. However if you add World Imagery basemap in Map Viewer from your basemap gallery, pop-ups are by default disabled.

The American Community Survey (ACS) is conducted yearly by the U.S. Census Bureau and provides data on a variety of topics including age, race, income, education, employment, and housing characteristics. The ArcGIS Living Atlas Policy Mapping team updates this collection of free layers that contain the latest 5-year estimates of ACS data. In addition to the layers, there are over 200 maps and apps that have been created highlighting the current-year data. With the ever growing collection of maps being made with the ACS data, the Living Atlas team has used ArcGIS Instant Apps Atlas to provide users with a more interactive and engaging way to discover content. For more information, see Introducing the American Community Survey (ACS) Atlas Collection. Visit the ArcGIS Living Atlas home page to learn about what's new and how to use content. @PeterKnoop I'm not disagreeing, and totally understand a need to be able to broadcast to all members in an organization and force them to see it. I've run into this very same need in several of the organization that I administer. The above said, I was just hoping to offer an alternative workflow that might work for now, until "the powers that be" can make a decision or progress on your idea. Keep 'em coming!

I'm thinking that adding a link to the information might be a security issue, but am not sure... Anyway, beside the banner you could also add text and a link for more information at the top of your home page. Many organization use that top part of the page to highlight important news or highlight new resources. That might be a workaround for you.

I'm expecting that the USGS Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) will, as a result of executive order, make changes to the official U.S. naming conventions. Google has already announced that they will make changes when those GNIS changes officially occur. Living Atlas basemaps and place name locators have always been based upon and have followed the official U.S. government conventions. Expect any changes to happen after the official government changes happen. Note that localized name changes depending on your country of origin may apply.

ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World provides foundation elevation layers and tools to support analysis and visualization across the ArcGIS system. These layers get updated quarterly with high resolution elevation data from federal agencies, open sources, and community maps program. With this latest update, Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) lidar derived High-Resolution Digital Elevation Model (HRDEM) has been added, along with elevation data from Bundesamt für Eich- und Vermessungswesen’s (BEV), and USGS. For more information, see Lidar derived updates to Living Atlas World Elevation Layers (December 2024) by @RajinderNagi. You can add your Experience Builder apps using the embed block, or add links to open the app to your story (which can also be configured in the embed block). Here's an example (admittedly a quick and inelegant one) using an embed block to add an experience to a story. I've published the sample live here: https://arcg.is/Gbn

Responding to @MichaelMorisette and @DanCopKac - your comments are appreciated and have been forwarded to the dev team. Will Express Mode evolve? Surely, and feedback like yours helps direct that evolution. But clearly, Experience Builder Express Mode is very different than WAB, but it also offers lots of capabilities that WAB did not. WAB is not scheduled for retirement until 2026, so lots of time to incorporate improvements, capabilities, and suggestions, so keep the feedback coming.

Everything should be working normally again, for some unknown reason the background color in the imagery tiles had been switched on, preventing the transition. Fixed now, should work just fine.

With last night's ArcGIS Online update, ArcGIS Experience Builder introduces Express mode, designed to make app building easy, enabling you to quickly and efficiently make engaging apps. Choose from a variety of templates to begin creating a new app, then follow the streamlined workflow to complete your experience. Use the mode toggle in the upper right to go from Express mode to Full mode and vice versa. The app templates are similar to the Web AppBuilder classic templates. For more information, see ArcGIS Experience Builder: Introducing Express mode.

Sentinel-1 is a spaceborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging system and mission from the European Space Agency and the European Commission. The mission launched and began collecting imagery in 2014.
With the ability to see through cloud and smoke cover, and because it does not rely on solar illumination of the Earth’s surface, Sentinel-1 is able to collect useful imagery in most weather conditions, day and night. This data is good for a wide range of land and maritime applications, from mapping floods, to deforestation, to oil spills, and more.
Sentinel-1 Explorer is an ArcGIS Living Atlas app that enables you to unlock and explore the wealth of information that Sentinel provides. A new tutorial, intended for educators and students, but useful to anyone that wants to learn more about Sentinel-1 Explorer, has just been published.
For more information, see Learn to explore Sentinel-1 imagery using Sentinel-1 Explorer by @BernSzukalski and @RobertWaterman.
