I could use an "Am I ready for Pro?" quiz (decision tree) that logically walks users through the things they need to do for a given project and lets them know if Pro can handle the task. Instead of trying to navigate GeoNet and bug lists, it could start with questions like "Is this an analysis, map, or both", move into questions such as "Is the map data local or hosted?" or "Do you use the attribute assistant?" and end with things like "Will this map need touched up in AI"? The quiz could be updated with each release.

Clicking "copy path" still provides windows-style (backslash) paths, and for SDE the path is a bit heavy. I agree that something akin to "Database Connections", or maybe having some functions such as arcpy.Home() and arcpy.Favorites() - or at least providing some instructions on how to easily create a variable for the default Favorites folder on help pages such as those I'm listing below - is essential. ***And please fix the misleading (and not reproducible) example that uses "Database Connections" on the Pro-branded page Create lists of data—ArcPy Get Started | ArcGIS Desktop *** Python migration from 10.x to ArcGIS Pro—ArcPy Get Started | ArcGIS Desktop ArcGIS Pro Python Reference—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop

It would be helpful to replicate AGOL's symbol clustering without having to create a new feature class. Here's an example: I want to map public parking lots. If there are 5 parking lots on one property, I may not need a symbol for all 5 lots. Symbolizing as we do online would be preferable to creating a temporary file (that can be lost/broken) just for the map.

I find the highlight fade to be overengineered in Pro (efforts that would've been better spent on bug-fixes).

For a single GIS user in an organization that does not have a dedicated IT department, I will stick with Desktop as long as possible - because while the user interface may be clunky and the 32-bit architecture occasionally a problem, it runs the tasks I need to do, and it does it reliably on machines I can afford. Pro doesn't run many of the tasks I need to do on any machine, and does not run on machines that are within our org's budget.

Shadow X/Y offsets are also limited to integers. This is not helpful unless you're using huge text. This is awful:

It would be helpful if key numbering could be enforced for all labels for a given label class.

At least they now have a partial list of known problems with ArcGIS Pro release notes Release notes for ArcGIS Pro 2.2—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop . I keep asking for them to allow users to filter the Technical Support Bugs list on Esri Support Search-Results by product type/version but no luck yet.

I would like to be able to insert a table in the layout view as you would in Microsoft Word and edit/format it as you would in Excel. The goal in this case is to format text with borders or tabbed spacing and to adjust the text angle, and not to retain the data for other maps/layouts in Excel or a geodatabase. This table was pasted from Excel as two images and resized. The styles and checkmark would not have been possible even with a linked table.

This was available in Production Mapping for Desktop, which is cost-prohibitive for most users. Given the time professional GIS users are contributing to the development of Pro through testing and bug reporting, it would be nice if this essential functionality would move into the base software.

With a lighter machine (Surface w/ 16 GB RAM, i7-6650U processor), Pro 2.2.1 is unusable (basic editing, or making a map with ~10 layers and basic map elements). We don't have the funds to get every GIS user in our city a computer meeting Pro's optimal requirements.

Thank you. Can other drag-and-drop functionality (such as dragging a map into a layout) be added to make this more intuitive?

The issue is that if syncing w/ new layers is OFF for the legend, and a layer is added, I have not found a way to add that layer into the legend (without removing it and adding it back in while "Synchronize with map --> New layer" is on). Below, I created the legend when only Cities was in the map. I then set the US Cities layer to only show features visible in the map extent, then turned off the layer sync in the legend properties. I added the Counties layer. When I re-check the New layer option for syncing, the legend remains limited to US Cities. If I spent a lot of time formatting the legend while "New layer" was unchecked in the Sync options, and added a few new layers, the workaround of deleting/re-adding the layers would make more sense than creating a new legend.

I had a layer disappear from the legend. I copied and pasted it (then had to adjust the formatting of the patch to match other layers), but at least I was able to fix the legend issue. (2.2.1). I don't have time to try to reproduce the bug; hopefully someone at ESRI can track it down. (I had restricted the legend to showing only symbols for features w/in the map extent, and added the layer after that, so perhaps that was the problem?)
