Robert is correct that the distances are populated manually. Do you mean that you would like the ability to use multiple input fields to define the distances that will be used to create the multi-ring buffers? If so, please clarify the Idea's title and description to more clearly explain the desired functionality, and it is also always useful to include details about why this functionality is important - what is an example of how you would use this with your data? I can assume that you have multiple fields representing different distances for which buffers need to be generated. But we shouldn't have to guess at the use case. See https://community.esri.com/docs/DOC-8266?sr=search&searchId=886fe7ce-1ca0-4745-bcaf-e54372e95d87&searchIndex=0 Thank you!

Thanks for the question, Randy. Since you're referring to that Idea (https://community.esri.com/ideas/12671) I'm assuming that you've already up-voted that. I checked and didn't see your User Story in the comments section. Many customers have added their stories to the Comments on that Idea, and that is very important for the product team when monitoring the Idea. I know that there are many eyes on this discussion, so please do add your input so that it can be considered with what is there already. Thank you.

For the part about the pick list of queries to choose from, you may want to join the discussion at https://community.esri.com/ideas/2358. It could be an interesting design consideration.

So you're looking for something similar to ArcReader for ArcGIS Pro, correct? But you also want to have the ability for users to make simple edits in that application? What kind of edits - attribute only, or attribute and geometry? From this most-recent comment, it sounds like you have already explored the editing capabilities of services directly in ArcGIS Online, correct? What is the limiting factor there - what specifically is lacking from ArcGIS Online editing capabilities that would need to be added to meet your requirements?

Have you tried editing feature services in ArcGIS Pro? Add a feature service for editing—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop Note that web feature layers (feature services) support editing: Web feature layer—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop You can also add an entire web map to Pro like you mention above: Add maps and scenes to a project—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop Please let us know if this addresses the need for a desktop app to edit feature services. If not, provide specific details about why editing feature services in Pro isn't the solution, and why a different solution would be needed.

rborchert What is the data type of the field? I just tried with a text field (loading a 256 character string into a field with 255 length) and I get the following: It gives me the row, but also indicates that the bad value is in the Name field. Granted, I am testing in 10.5 and I realize this was logged last year, but could you test your workflow in 10.5 and let me know what you're seeing? Thanks!

Never mind, Rob. I found the case and the enhancement for better documentation about backward compatibility of mosaic datasets created in newer versions to older versions. So, the documentation is one thing, and that definitely would be helpful, but your Idea here stands to actually make Mosaic Datasets backward compatible. Thanks for the clarification.

Great. Thanks for clarifying the description to make it more specific to creating a model from the history log file. I agree, Tasks is not exactly what you're looking for, but as it is new functionality in Pro and provides step-by-step guidance on completing a workflow, I thought you might be interested in learning more about it:)

Hi Jennifer Grimes. Have you looked at Viewing tool execution history—Help | ArcGIS Desktop ? From your Idea description, it seems to me that the history log file will resolve most of the issue. Now, if you want to revise the Idea and description to more specifically state that you'd like functionality that will allow quick creation of a model from the history log file, that would be a new Idea that I haven't see put out there before. I'm also curious whether you've looked into using Tasks in ArcGIS Pro: What is a task?—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop
