This has been a huge help! I was just wondering if it is possible to extend this into the constraint message? I basically have a binary condition for the constraint, if "true" constraint x and y apply, if "false" only constraint x applies. I tried to create a couple text columns one with a constraint message for the true condition another for false and third calculated message to create the display constraint message fort the selected condition. e.g. if(${postDate} = 'T', ${trueConstraintMsg}, ${falseConstraintMsg}) and then entered ${displayConstrainMsg} in the constrain_message column. Needless to say this didn't work, was wondering if there is another solution? Is the constraint_message column only able to take text and not a result from another question? If I can't make it happen through a constraint message I can just do it through a conditional note but it won't be a elegant.

I have been trying to build a query so the inbox only returns repeat records from a date field(${travelDate}) 10 days or less from the max date (${maxTravelDate} which equals max(${travelDate})), or this could be records dated the 10 days or less from the current date. I would also like to return repeat records from the current month. I can't seem to dial in the syntax any of these queries. The Prepare for editing existing survey data—Survey123 for ArcGIS | Documentation doesn't cover this, nor can I find any good resources on developing query syntax for this. I have tried several iterations of query syntax with out success and was wondering if this is even possible or if I am traveling down a rabbit hole with no end?

I have recently discovered that new attribute fields cannot be added to a hosted feature layer when a hosted view containing a join of a parent - child table join that layer also exists. This has a cascading effect on all web maps and applications that use the hosted view all needing to be updated or recreated following the deletion of the hosted view so that a new field can be added. Is there another way to add new fields with out deleting the hosted views?

Thanks for the suggestion, I have used the custom URL to link Collector or Explorer to S123 in the past, but for ease of use for some of our less tech savvy users I need to keep a couple of the data collection workflows contained in a single application.

Currently we only have the ability to limit the view and editing made within previous repeat records when revisiting a survey in the inbox through the bind::esri:parameters field. It would be helpful to also have the ability to control the view and editing of fields in the parent record or control editing field by field when access through the inbox. I manage several data collection activities where site info is collected on the first visit, this involves location data, ownership, ecological community type...None of this data needs to or should be updated on subsequent visits, however it would be helpful to be able to view while entering new date in a repeat. Subsequent visits could involve collecting data for several potential activates including: photo monitoring, trap specimen collections, ecological management activity... It would be beneficial to prevent surveyors from updating parent records or specific fields to prevent erroneous data entries. My current strategy is to create second copies of the form with all the parent fields set to "read only" for site revisits and Inbox entries or accessing survey revisits through Explorer or Collector and custom URL. It would be a great time saver and provide a more elegant data collection solution if all of this could be accomplished with greater control of which fields can be edited when accessed through the inbox. Not sure of the programing involved but it might possibly be accomplished by using bind::esri:parameters field set to allowUpdates = false on a field by filed basis.

I would like to have users be able to add new repeat records when accessing a photo point survey through the inbox, but would like all the data in the parent feature, basically the site information (location, photo azimuth, site name, project...) to be uneditable when accessed through the inbox. I am able to use once() for some of the fields (date, username of the feature creator) but can't figure out a way to do this for non calculated field. Any idea if this is possible without getting too deep in the weeds using repeat counts, hiding original questions through relevants and exposing answers as calculated notes...? It would be great if we could use allowUpdates=false in the bind::esri:parameters field on a field by field basis rather than just for repeats.

I created a web application built in web app builder using the "Box" theme, I am trying to use the Near Me widget however every time another widget is clicked, most importantly the Print widget, the buffer created by the Near Me widget disappears, which minimizes the utility of using the Print widget. Am I missing some setting or is this a bug? I thought it might be a browser issue but it persist in Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer and it also persists in different web app themes Thanks for any help.

Hi Craig Gillgrass I am needing to revisit this again only this time it is a Dispatcher who is retiring and we need to deactivate their account. Just wondering if we should just remove them as a dispatcher for all active and completed assignments before removing them from the workforce project. Similar to removing workers? Thanks!

Solved the problem, I set a value in the instance_name field on the settings tab and that is now all that populates the "Survey Recovered" popup box.

Hi Shwu-Jing, I am using the current version (3.5.177), the issue is the popup that comes up after reopening the Survey123 app after it was closed prior to completing a survey (swiping active app to close on Android while the survey is still open and not saved). The problem is that it in the case of this survey it fills with all the text from a note/calculate field which pushes the "Discard survey" and "Continue survey" buttons off the page leaving no way to close the popup box, see example of screen shot of another survey where the recover survey box is not filled with text. I am guessing this is a bug or at least a permutation the developers didn't think of, I am just trying to figure out if there is a way to layout the form that would prevent all the text from filling the box. This is probably a issue that would have a rather low incidence of occurrence, but if it does occur it becomes a major hassle. e

Thanks Doug, I will try setting my status values to a fixed length and try out the join() and substring functions. As for the individual forms for each visit, my users need to see the initial data collected on subsequent site visits so separate forms don't work. Basically I have two forms writing to the same feature layer, one for the first site visit and a second for follow up visits that can only be opened via the inbox, where all the values in the parent form are set to read only and the surveyor can only edit a new repeat, it also allows me the ability update the parent form behind the scene. This has served me well so far, I guess it is somewhat similar to your idea just leveraging the Inbox instead of Collector.

I am having an issue with one of the forms I created. When the app is closed midway through a survey the "Survey Recovered" popup is filled with text from a long calculate field in the form to the point the "Discard survey" and "Continue Survey" buttons are not visible. I have found no way to continue with Survey123 without uninstalling the app and deleting all the folders associated with Survey123. Any solution to this problem would be appreciated.
