Hi Dan, Have you thought about using Survey123 Connect to build your form? It looks like the Note option is not available in the web form creation interface. Notes are basically a way to add elements (text, images, links...) to your form without adding anything to your resulting database. Also, you will be able to use the HTML formatting in the note. Survey123 Connect will open up a whole new world of options for your Survey 123 form design.

Ismael Chivite Is it possible to create a select multiple or a select one question whose choices are a subset of the selected answers from a previous select multiple question? My intended work is outlined below. The user would select one or several Target Species and then the list for Detected Species would be the subset of the entire species list showing only those selected as a Target Species.

I just came across the same issue, I would like to pass two values from Collector to my Survey123 form and lock them from editing in Survey123. Tried making them hidden, notes and read only, unfortunately none of these populate with the values coming from Collector. As far as I can tell there is no way to lock the values. If someone comes up with a solution please share.

Hi Brandon, Thanks for sharing the enhancement idea with me, I am not sure it would necessarily meet my specific need I basically have a form the collects some site information and then has several questions within a repeat (i guess it's kind of like a nested survey) I would like to capture the location each time the user completed the nested survey but I don't need them to see the map I just need the coordinate. Hope this makes sense.

Is there a way to pull all of the data from one field within a repeat to basically show a summary list. I have a form that is collecting A site name and Data outside of a repeat and the collecting a species name and some related info inside a repeat and I would like to show a running list of the species names collected I was thinking in a note field, just not sure how to call the values?

I tried the setting to read only but the map still shows and I really don't want to show the map. I would just like to see the coordinates and accuracy? Any thoughts on doing this?

I have a repeat in my form. Will it capture a location for each record in the repeat? Also is there any way to display the coordinates and calculate and display accuracy?

I am trying to create a customized instance name for completed surveys and would like to show a label value rather that the name value for a select_one field. Is there a way to either return the label value directly into instance_name properties in setting or to calculate it into a text field or note? This question was asked previously here: https://community.esri.com/thread/179622 but no solution was given.

Igor, Joe was kind of correct on how to go about it, you do need to use binding however Survey123 goes about it a different way than ODK. You will want to use an input mask. To do this in Survey123 Connect fill in the the body::esri:SurveyMask column (this is the last column in the survey form column x) for your field with the following. XXXXxxxxxx the capital 'X' makes the character required lower case 'x' is optional to the maximum number of total digits in your mask (in your case 10). X,x will allow any ascii character if you just want alphabetic characters use A, a (e.g. AAAAaaaaaa) numeric characters (0- 9) required = 9, optional = 0 (e.g. 9999000000) the whole list of options and more about input masks can be found here near the bottom of the page: Esri custom columns—Survey123 for ArcGIS | ArcGIS Hope this helps! Is there a way to make a question in survey conditionally required? I would like a question to be required if a previous group of questions are answered a certain way, otherwise I would like the question to be optional. I realize I can expose or hide questions based on previous answers but haven't found any documentation demonstrating the the ability to make a question required if a previous condition is met. The idea would be something like this. Question 1: Yes No Question 2: Animal Vegetable Mineral Other Question 3: if Question "1" = Yes and Question 2 = "Other", then answer to Question 3 is required, if different answers to questions 1 & 2 the surveyor has the option to answer question 3 but it would not be required.

Hi James, Thanks for your response, It wasn't exactly what I was hoping for but I do understand from a security stand point the limitations of application sandbox. The second of the two solutions you proposed will most likely be the best option since my survey will be used outside of internet connectivity and often on non-networked devices. Perhaps down the road Esri can build a more robust option for users to build customized help menu within the application sandbox like link to a html or pdf file with a specific name stored in a specific location or something more internal with the Survey 123 code... Do you know if there is a way to have the note and the select multiple question persist at the top or bottom of the form and not scroll with the rest of the questions so that the "help" menu can be easily accessible at any point in the survey? I am guessing probably not. Thanks again for your help!

My users often have the need to repeat answers to survey questions throughout their entire day's data collection effort. To help with this it would be great to see an enhancement to the Favorite Answer functionality in Survey 123 giving an option in the form menu to allow the user to set favorite answers as default values/answers to their forms so that they don't repeatedly have to paste their favorite answer each time they open a new form. Maybe have the menu look something like this: Set as favorite answer Paste answer from favorite Set favorite answer as form default value
