Thomas, The 'Network Latency Test' fails. I'm using the same login and password as my AGOL account so I know that is not the issue, even though the original error message says that it is. I went into Preferences > Reset Preferences and unchecked the Remove HTTP Proxy Settings to see if that would fix it (FME has a similar issue). It didn't, so I went back in to the Reset Preferences page and the setting was still checked. In fact, I cannot change any of those settings including the Welcome Wizard. That's an obvious bug which I will report separately. This specific error in the test results is reported as a network-related issue on most forums with no solutions besides increasing the timeout lengths of time. Even then, the solution rarely works. Suggestions?

I can't sign in to ArcGIS Online through City Engine (v 2016.1.2875 160919R). I've tried adding a more specific link to our County's AGOL site through Preferences > Network > Portals, but that fails too. There are a few forum posts about this same issue in ArcMap dating back to 2011 all the way up to 2015 with many of the answers involving edits to the registry key. I'm hoping it doesn't come to that.

I'd like to be able to look at special events and the traffic they disrupt. Being able to choose a date and time range from a calendar would be ideal. I'd also like to be able to input the time slider increment and lock it so that using the forward and backward buttons or moving the slider would both jump in the same increments. Right now the time slider bar is difficult to use when the time frame is very large and the increments are very small.

I can't even log into ArcGIS Online through CityEngine 2016.1. It fails with any username and password combo, even if we add our enterprise account using the Add Portal option.

Charles, If you ran the model from the Model Builder open window it would not produce a result. You have to close the Model Builder tool and run it by either double-clicking on the icon in ArcCatalog or right-click and choose Open... Those two ways of running the model will add a result to the Geoprocessing Results tab. From that point you can right-click the result and Share.

Thanks. Yes, I think that kind of calculation would make it easier to understand the data when it's downloaded.

Renaming Captured Images By Calculation Is there a way to expose the ! image name field to a calculation? I want to have a base name for images that would be a concatenation of fields so that when the data is downloaded from AGOL and appended to a larger database the unique information for that survey is preserved. For instance, if I collected utility poles and signs for project# 123, I'd like the image names to be formatted with the project number, a group name, and the renamed image value: Sign Image | 123_Signs_.jpg | concat(${prjNumber},'_Signs_',${snNewName}) Pole Image | 123_Poles_.jpg | concat(${prjNumber},'_Poles_',${plNewName}) Those concatenations don't work, but am I on the right track? Do I need an extra field for the rename value?

Problem: The USNG field that is created with this tool has a length of 255 characters when it only needs 18. The reason this is a problem is that it doesn't match most other feature classes that have a 18-character USNG field already which makes it difficult to use any other tool that has field mapping options such as Spatial Join (Analysis), Append (Management), Merge (Management), Feature Class To Feature Class (Conversion), and Table To Table (Conversion). Solution: Reduce the length of the USNG field created by the Convert Coordinate Notation tool to 18 characters. Note: I realize this doesn't address a fully-qualified USNG value which normally has the datum at the end (i.e. (NAD83) ), but the tool returns a USNG parsed value with spaces between the GZD, 100k-m square ID, and the individual grid coordinates.

@Wolfgang Kaiser From the requirements link that you linked in your last comment, it looks like 10.4 will be able to use VS Community 2015. Our clients are still on 10.0, upgrading to 10.3.1, so we have to keep pace with them.

What flavor of Visual Studio will allow the "ArcObjects SDK for the Microsoft .NET Framework" to be installed? Visual Studio Community 2015 is not supported. The posted requirements for VS software products that are, at the time of this posting, 3-4 years old seems like a real issue because they are no longer available.

As embarrassing as this is to admit, check your Source tab. That error can also come up when you think that the feature class you are editing is in the same database as the other data you have in the MXD but it really isn't. Yes, it's selectable, but when you try to do any kind of edit, or even look at it's vertices, it will return that error message along with a string of others.

It would be nice if the arrows on the Feature Class to Feature Class tool actually did what they look like they're supposed to do.
