Hi Emma Ringeri, Thanks for the follow up, my only thought is maybe ApplyEdits calls to the feature were somehow submitted twice for the same record. I hope the offline workflow provides a workaround for you. I will definitely keep this behavior in mind in the future. Thanks! Thomas.

Hello Josh Hevenor, Unfortunately the error message is not too informative does the webgisdr successfully create a backup file? Since the webgisdr fails when backing up ArcGIS Server I'd recommend attempting to export the ArcGIS Server site manually. I would be interest to see if you encounter the same error message when running the export site operation. 1). Navigate to the ArcGIS Server Admin endpoint and log in. 2). Under 'Supported Operation' click on 'exportSite'. Supply a destination for the backup file and click 'export'. Thanks, Thomas.

Hello Charles, Is the collaboration workspace set to 'share as copy' or 'share as reference'?. I would recommend temporally setting the portal logs to 'DEBUG' level. Then start a sync, record the the time the sync was initiated. Once the sync has completed review the portal logs. In particular I would look for 'WARNING' and 'SEVERE' level messages. Otherwise if you have the option you may want to open a support case to investigate further. Thanks, Thomas.

Hello Emma Ringeri, Do the duplicate entries have the exactly the same attributes for each field? Just want to also double check that the source data is not a multi-point feature? Does editing through a web map behave normally? Unfortunately I haven't encountered this behavior before. You may want to enable editor tracking on the feature service to confirm which user is creating duplicate records. Finally is there any pattern to the records which are duplicated (e.g. specific feature service, layer, end user)? I hope this helps provide some suggestions. Thanks, Thomas.

Hello Charles, It order to send content in both directions it is necessary to set the collaboration workspace to send and receive. Send only: When the host selects Send as the access mode for the guest, the guest can send content to the host but does not receive any content from the host. Receive only: When the host selects Receive as the access mode for the guest, the guest will receive content from the host but cannot send any content to the host. Send and Receive When the host selects Send and Receive as the access mode for the guest, the guest can send content to, and receive content from, the host. With each sync of the collaboration workspace, content will be updated to match how it exists in the portal of origin. The Send and Receive access mode cannot be used to handle back and forth editing of a single dataset between host and guest. If you are still not receiving any items from ArcGIS Online when the collaboration workspace is set to Send and Receive there may be additional issues with the collaboration. I hope this helps! Thanks, Thomas.

Hello Michael Matson, I know this post is a little old but I wanted to follow up with some suggestions. Is the service you are trying to synchronize an ArcGIS Online hosted feature service? I understand you created to web map, do you also own the feature service? Have any changes been made to the feature service (e.g schema changes) while the data was offline? I've provided an technical article below which describe how to recover your offline edits from your android device. How To: Access offline edits from Collector for ArcGIS directly from an Android or iOS device Hope this helps! Thanks, Thomas.

Hello Joseph Nunn, It is possible to create multiple web maps in ArcGIS Online that reference the same service. In regards to pre-populating fields in the feature service you could use custom URL schemes to pass parameters from other apps or web maps. I've provided some example documentation below. Survey 123 for ArcGIS - Integrate with other apps ArcGIS Blog - Understanding Survey 123's custom URL scheme Collector for ArcGIS - Deploy your map Hope this helps! Thanks, Thomas.

Hello Guillaume Ruelle, You can configure Portal to use either IWA or LDAP. To my knowledge it is not possible to utilize both IWA and LDAP with one Portal. In additional it is only supported to have one Web Adaptor per Portal. Portal for ArcGIS - Use your portal with LDAP and web-tier authentication. Portal for ArcGIS - Use Integrated Windows Authentication with your portal. Hope this helps! Thanks, Thomas.

Hello Marco Poetsch, Have you imported the full certificate chain used with Portal onto your mobile device and added it to the trusted keystore? Do you know what certificate is configured with Portal and the Portal Web Adaptor? What identity store is configured with your Portal organisation (e.g. Built-In, IWA, LDAP, SAML)? If you have any questions please let me know. Thanks, Thomas.

Hello Nicole Ueberschär, Unfortunately you won't be able to invite Enterprise users to ArcGIS Online groups and visa versa. Enterprise and ArcGIS Online have two separate identity stores and therefore different pools of users. Distributed collaborations are the main way to share content between Enterprise and ArcGIS Online. It is also possible to add a service as an item to ArcGIS Online from Enterprise. Or to add ArcGIS Online services an an item to Portal. Portal for ArcGIS - Set up an ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online collaboration Portal for ArcGIS - Add items ArcGIS Online - Add items If you have any additional questions please let me know. Thanks! Thomas.

Hello Jeff Timm, To my knowledge yes, as long you are connecting to the same database, instance and version. Using the same credentials as the previous database connection. The services stills needs to have access and permissions to the underlying data. That said if you are concerned about downtime I would recommend testing this workflow first before making any changes. For example publishing a test service. Deleted and recreating the database connection. The service itself also contains information regarding the database credentials used at the time of publishing. I have given an example of a connection string below. Example Connection String: ENCRYPTED_PASSWORD=00022e684f74367676436b6d2b535a4e4735767351416a5771773d3d2a00 SERVER=<database server name> INSTANCE=<database instance name> DBCLIENT= sqlserver DB_CONNECTION_PROPERTIES=<database instance name> DATABASE=<database name> VERSION=sde.DEFAULT AUTHENTICATION_MODE=DBMS I hope this information is useful. Thanks! Thomas.

Hello Jeff Pope There are methods to control editing in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise. The primary way to edit out of the box would be through the Map Viewer. If the location of the editor is important you may want to look into the Collector for ArcGIS. Collector is able to pull location information from a mobile device. ArcGIS Online - Data access and editing ArcGIS Online - User types, roles and privileges Portal for ArcGIS - Edit Features Collector for ArcGIS Collector for ArcGIS - FAQ I don't know of a method to restrict editing within a certain distance of an attribute. An alternative idea may be to create a layer with a 50ft buffer around those point features. To act as visual aide in a Web Map. It would then be a matter of best practice to educate the end user not to edit within that buffer. I hope you find this information helpful. Thanks! Thomas.

Hello Jeff, You can edit the connection string in ArcGIS Server Manager, ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro. I don't know of a way to rename the database connections itself. If you want to recreate the connections you will need to use the same parameters in the connection string as your previous connections. Thanks, Thomas

Hello Wade, What capabilities do you have enabled on the feature service. Are you also attempting to edit the feature layer in a web map. You can check the capabilities of a feature service from the ArcGIS Server REST endpoint. Example URL: https://<host>/<site>/rest/services/<folder>/<serviceName>/<serviceType>/<layerNumber> When viewing a specific layer of the feature service scroll down to the bottom of the screen. You should see a capabilities parameter. For example: Capabilities: Create,Delete,Extract,Query,Sync,Update,Uploads,Editing Thanks, Thomas.

Hello Jamal, The shared instances should always be running on each machine in your site. It's possible if you checked right away you might night not see the ArcSOC.exe immediately. As ArcGIS Server would take sometime to spin up the additional ArcSOC.exe after you update the shared instance pool settings. You can run this follow command to count the number of ArcSOC.exe running on a machine. tasklist | find "ArcSOC.exe" /c Thanks, Thomas.
