This continues to be a serious issue for users. Here's a classic case: User: I tried to copy and paste an annotation and my arcpro is frozen in time no thinking, no maybe it's doing something. Just peacefully humming and frozen. Me: Any chance there's a dialog open off-screen? User: not that I can see or find. there's no idincation there is a dialog open though if i view all screens and tabs or if i see another arcpro window Me: I saw someone else go through something similar. There was no indication of a dialog being open if he viewed all windows via the taskbar, task manager, etc. But there was still a dialog open. He was using his surface at the time. He even tried plugging in the meeting room screen as a second monitor so that he could see the dialog. But the dialog still didn't show up on the second screen. I believe he used some keyboard shortcuts to move the dialog onto the main Surface screen. User: Heckin' Pro That is the most annoying thing in the world there MAY be a dialogue open somewhere if you freeze. Not always 100% of the time but you must search everywhere for it before you force end the program The user currently has this expression on their face.

I have an AGOL map open in the map viewer that has two hosted feature layers: Survey Items - raw info from Survey123 entered by members of the public Artifacts - verified records entered manually by internal staff Using the web map, a non-technical person needs to review the Survey Items points and enter new points into the Artifacts layer, where applicable. We've intentionally made this a manual process to ensure that the data is thoroughly audited and improved, since the Artifacts layer will be displayed publicly on a separate web map. The user wants to copy some of the info from the Survey Items popup and paste it into a new Artifacts feature. However, it doesn't seem possible to keep the Survey Items popup open while creating a feature. So that makes it impractical to copy/paste text field values from one dialog into the other dialog. Could the map viewer be enhanced with an optional setting that keeps the explore popup open when creating a new feature? I'm a non-admin AGOL user. I can create content, but I can't share it. I have a web map that I created & own that the GIS Administrator has shared with everyone/publicly; I've opened the web map in the web map viewer. I've removed a hosted feature layer (I created it and own it) that the GIS administrator shared with everyone, and I've replaced it with a new view on the feature layer that I created and own. The view is not yet shared with everyone/publicly, since I don't have the privileges to do that. When I saved the map (after removing the feature layer and adding the view), I got this dialog: I hit Update Sharing, and the dialog closed, but it didn't do anything. The view still isn't shared with everyone. My GIS Administrator said: "AGOL will check your webmap and alert you to any permissions inconsistencies, as you saw with that notification. It's a handy feature. But because you didn't have privileges to share items publicly, it just quietly didn't do that for you when you clicked Update Sharing. It would be nice if it told you that." Idea: Could that functionality be improved so that users without sharing privileges don't get that message? Or if we do get that message, display a follow up message saying nothing happened.

As an AGOL novice, my last resort workaround is to use the project name as a folder prefix so that folders for the same project are grouped together alphabetically. That lets me split up the AGOL items into separate folders. ProjectA - External Map ProjectA - Internal Map ProjectA - Survey

As an AGOL novice, I'm wondering if it would be helpful to display the item's REST service name on the item details pane: I find I often open the REST services page for a given item, just to see the REST name. It seems inconvenient to flip back and forth between the item page and the REST page for this.

I have an AGOL feature layer that contains a single layer/sublayer. The feature layer docs say: You can add sublayers individually to a map if you do not need every layer in the feature layer item. Is it best practice to add the sublayer to the map if there is only one sublayer? Or should I add the feature layer to the map? Related: Is the term 'feature layer' different in ArcGIS Pro vs AGOL?

In ArcGIS Pro, I recall the term feature layer being a wrapper for a single feature class only. I'm new to AGOL. It seems like an AGOL feature layer is a grouping of multiple layers (AGOL layers being the equivalent of Pro feature classes or feature layers). Is the above correct? Are feature layers different in Pro vs ArcGIS Online? AGOL screenshot: Related: Should I add the feature layer or it's sublayer to the web map?

Is there a way to set a default value for a Single Select field? (from within the Survey123 website > design mode) In design mode, I tried clicking the radio button beside a choice: But in preview mode, the choice did not get automatically selected. If clicking the radio button in design mode doesn't set a default value, then what does it do?

I'm new to Survey123. As far as I can tell, there isn't a clean way to put a terms/conditions checkbox and a legal disclaimer at the bottom of a Survey123 form. Use case: Public government website where the user enters information and photos about historical artifacts to be reviewed and displayed on a public web map. Could that functionality be added?
