I have an AGOL feature layer that contains a single layer/sublayer. The feature layer docs say: You can add sublayers individually to a map if you do not need every layer in the feature layer item. Is it best practice to add the sublayer to the map if there is only one sublayer? Or should I add the feature layer to the map? Related: Is the term 'feature layer' different in ArcGIS Pro vs AGOL?

In ArcGIS Pro, I recall the term feature layer being a wrapper for a single feature class only. I'm new to AGOL. It seems like an AGOL feature layer is a grouping of multiple layers (AGOL layers being the equivalent of Pro feature classes or feature layers). Is the above correct? Are feature layers different in Pro vs ArcGIS Online? AGOL screenshot: Related: Should I add the feature layer or it's sublayer to the web map?

Is there a way to set a default value for a Single Select field? (from within the Survey123 website > design mode) In design mode, I tried clicking the radio button beside a choice: But in preview mode, the choice did not get automatically selected. If clicking the radio button in design mode doesn't set a default value, then what does it do?

I'm new to Survey123. As far as I can tell, there isn't a clean way to put a terms/conditions checkbox and a legal disclaimer at the bottom of a Survey123 form. Use case: Public government website where the user enters information and photos about historical artifacts to be reviewed and displayed on a public web map. Could that functionality be added? Field names can't have spaces in AGOL. This idea is for AGOL to automatically remove leading and trailing spaces when the user hits the 'Add field' button, rather than throwing an error and forcing the user to remove the spaces manually. Example Use case: Apps like Office 365 Word automatically insert spaces after list values when copying to the clipboard. The space gets silently pasted into AGOL, which causes an annoying error when saving the field.

ArcGIS Online feature layers have this option: "Keep track of changes to the data (add, update, delete features)." Is that functionality essentially the same as Archiving in file geodatabases, enterprise geodatabases, and mobile geodatabases?

I have a POINTS FC and a POLYGONS FC. In POINTS, I want to use the field calculator to populate a POINTS.ASSET_ID field with the ASSET_IDs from POLYGONS, where a point touches a polygon. The spatial relationship is 1:1. In other words, I want to get the ASSET_ID from the intersecting polygon and use it to populate the ASSET_ID field in the point. I want to do this all within a simple field calculation, not using multiple GP tools and joins. I would also like this to work for cases where the ID fields don’t have the same name.

@John_Jones Thanks! I think using the term "apply" here is inconsistent and confusing as "apply" is generally used to describe making an edit... To clarify, are you suggesting that I should change the idea title wording from "apply" to "save"? The new title would be "Auto save geometry edits (after each edit)".

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I think you can click the domain description header to sort it alphabetically, then check the "Save sorted order?" checkbox. I remember there being some surprising limitations to that functionality, so keep an eye out for weird stuff. Such as: Domains View — Indicate that saving sorting only applies to sorting the descriptions, not the codes

I'm aware of the "Time interval (minutes)" and "Number of operations" options in the "Session" section. I'd prefer each point to be saved immediately after creating it, not on a time interval. Is the recommended workflow for me to change the "Number of operations" to 1? That doesn't seem overly intuitive and is inconsistent with attribute editing, which is confusing. If that's the recommended workflow, then I think it could be improved by adding a simple "Auto Apply geometry edits" option.
