Nuisance flooding worsens as sea level rise increases. For example, locations such as the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Virginia are expected to observe 20 days of nuisance flooding in 2021. Within 10 years, the predicted flood days will more than double to 49 days @Keith-VanGraafeiland details the use of U.S. High Tide Flooding Projection Scenarios in the new custom High Tide Flooding app. For more information, see How many days will it flood?

The old Compare app is still available, though now considered a legacy app: https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=a35a934152dc44dda8d793a2303f0df1 The newer compare/swipe apps are listed and discussed in this blog article: https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-online/mapping/swipe-compare-apps/ In practice, adding a lot of maps to a comparison limits the visibility/exploration of those on all but the largest monitors/devices. An alternative you might consider is using Experience Builder to create the comparison experience you like. The basic 2 map comparison using ExB is discussed and shown in the blog article above.

International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8th around the world. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements and also a day for women from all backgrounds and cultures to rally for gender parity and women's rights. In recognition of the day, the two stories below by @DianaLavery1 are this week's maps of the week. The first story explores the impact, barriers, and strategies around women in national politics. There is strong evidence that women’s representation in local governments has made a difference in drinking water access, child health, pensions, funding for education, and more, benefiting both women and men. For more information, see the story item details. The second story highlights how women are faring by country with respect to life expectancy, maternal mortality, contraceptive use & total fertility rate, and the percent of births attended by skilled health personnel. This story map highlights how women are faring by country with respect to life expectancy, maternal mortality, contraceptive use & total fertility rate, and the percent of births attended by skilled health personnel. Globally, lots of progress has been made in women's health, but there is still plenty more work to do. For more information, see the story item details.

messages that indicate not all features will be drawn indicate that you've managed to publish A LOT of features. There are limitations to what the Map Viewer can handle, so you might be seeing a warning icon in the lower left that not all features are drawn. This is ok, your features are still there, but you'll need to apply some map-craft in terms of scale dependencies or otherwise limiting features that at being drawn to reasonable levels. What you were able to do during your trial should be equally doable post-trial, so I am equally perplexed why you can't see your GPS points or seem limited by trial vs. Creator account privileges. I cannot think of a reason why your conversion to a full account from a trial would cause layers to disappear - I'd suggest a connect to Esri customer service or support to get that ironed-out.

Eight new and updated deep learning models were released at the Federal GIS Conference. With these additions, you now have 12 pre-trained deep learning models that you can use. Go to the geoprocessing tools in ArcGIS Pro, point the deep learning tools to the models and at the raw data, and the model will extract geographical features at the click of a button. See a quick video tutorial of how this works. For more information, see Pre-trained deep learning models update (February 2021).

The Census Bureau's American Community Survey (ACS) is an invaluable resource, now published via ArcGIS Living Atlas. This map (actually an app using the Compare configurable app) uses ACS data to take a closer look at health insurance coverage for minorities. The left map contains 2010-2014 ACS layers and the right contains the current year ACS data which is 2015-2019. The symbology is the same to enable easy visual comparisons. Zoom in a bit or navigate to your area of interest for the best comparison results. Click the (i) button in the upper right for more info about the app and the ACS content used in it. al comparison. Click The visual results can be quite dramatic. Take a look at this area near Atlanta, Georgia (click the image to view a larger version). The Compare configurable app is one of the swipe/comparison apps that you can use for visual exploration and analysis covered. All swipe/comparison apps were recently covered in Apps you can use to swipe or compare. ACS content can be found in Living Atlas, or by searching for "ACS" when authoring a web map using Map Viewer. This is one of many Living Atlas ACS-based maps and layers that you you can use to discover more about your community.

To streamline things a bit, you can put your maps you want 4H'ers to use in a public group. Then have them do a search for your group where they can easily find your maps, then favorite them for use in their stories.

ArcGIS Living Atlas is curated content, and while anyone can submit content for review and inclusion in the Living Atlas, your map would not automatically show up there. Members outside your organization can search for and find any public map. They can do that from within their organization by simply searching for the name of your map. Once they find it, it can be favorited for easy discovery and addition to a story when adding a map block.

A good way to handle this is to create a View of the data. The view can have separate properties and permissions, but is inherently based upon the "master" hosted feature layer (so if that is updated, so is the view). So I am thinking your solution will be to create a View to use in the map you use in your story - protecting the source from unintentioned exposure/editing. See: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/manage-data/create-hosted-views.htm

I am not sure I understand, especially the "scrolled through" part. In the pop-up, the pictures are constrained to fit within the pop-up. If you click to open a larger version, then depending on how large the photo you are opening is you might get the browser scroll bars. If you can share your web map or app with me I might be able to help further. You can reach me off this Community at bszukalski@esri.com. Interactive legend will display the image in a pop-up that's a little larger than what you might see in the current Map Viewer since it is one of the JS API 4.x apps. The pop-up appearance will be the same as viewed using Map Viewer Beta, also based on the latest JS API. But in either case - using the classic map viewer and apps compared to the newer 4.x map viewer beta and apps, the picture will remain constrained within the pop-up, though the 4.x pop-up is slightly bigger.

It's hard to say exactly when, but I ran this past the dev team... It's difficult to predict because as yet there is a lot of internal discussion about how this is to be implemented, and what the UX will be. I would guess that later this year - Q4 - is when we might add some capabilities. If you would like, you can send me a description of your needs and how you would like this to work via email to bszukalski@esri.com and I will make sure the feedback gets to the team and product management.

Moments ago, NASA's Perseverance rover successfully landed on Mars after a 300 million mile journey that took nearly seven months. This Mostly Mapping Map of the Week features a custom app built using the latest JavaScript API which supports non-earth geoids, making accurate measurements and location possible. Explore Mars with this custom app Using the app, you can explore Mars by viewing previous landing sites, comparing the size of regions (like states and countries) to features on the planet, and even compare terrain in 3D.
