A good way to handle this is to create a View of the data. The view can have separate properties and permissions, but is inherently based upon the "master" hosted feature layer (so if that is updated, so is the view). So I am thinking your solution will be to create a View to use in the map you use in your story - protecting the source from unintentioned exposure/editing. I am not sure I understand, especially the "scrolled through" part. In the pop-up, the pictures are constrained to fit within the pop-up. If you click to open a larger version, then depending on how large the photo you are opening is you might get the browser scroll bars.  If you can share your web map or app with me I might be able to help further. Interactive legend will display the image in a pop-up that's a little larger than what you might see in the current Map Viewer since it is one of the JS API 4.x apps. The pop-up appearance will be the same as viewed using Map Viewer Beta, also based on the latest JS API. It's difficult to predict because as yet there is a lot of internal discussion about how this is to be implemented, and what the UX will be. Your existing home page looks like it is using custom HTML/CSS which was supported in the past, but for security reasons is no longer supported in the new home page editor. However, you can great a gallery similar to what you have currently implemented using various groups of content, and the group graphic is what will appear in the gallery. That would, IMHO, be the easiest way to create something similar to what you have. Keep in my that groups can contain a variety of different contet, not just maps, apps, and layers, so you have complete flexibility in reproducing what you current have implemented. ... View more

The updated date is the last time the item overview was updated, not necessarily the vintage of the data. Scroll down in the Description section to see that it was published on October 1, 2019. The Mean Rainfall item overview states that it is for the the period January 1971 through December 2009. I can check to see when updates are anticipated. ... View more
