You are not alone with this, we also need to provide tile packages for projects with less than 20 levels (or with more zoom levels than 20). This thread discusses a similar issue - probably affected by the same bug(s). I'm yet to hear back whether the team had any time to look at the samples they requested... Haven't had a chance to test it with the latest build (1.8), but probably wouldn't be any difference. Hopefully it will be fixed soon as it could be a deal-breaker for us.

Hi Brian This seems to me a similar issue we had a while ago with tools in ArcGIS Desktop 10.0 where the dialog of the tool displayed without its content. That was due to some IE settings/not the default browser. I suspect the login dialog in survey123 (and in connect) uses IE/default browser to load the sign-in page... I'd probably check the workarounds this link mentions in case they help.

Tim Based on the code in the referenced KB article above, using filename = str(item[1]) should only include the original filename of the attachement/photo. It might have been changed, but previously photos were attached with a name like Photo1, Photo2, ... etc, repeated for each feature. If that's still the case, then you may find that your attachments with the same name are overwritten and you need to use a prefix to overcome this. I hope this helps.

Tom One of your calculations seems to be incorrect: pulldata("@geopoint",${Geopoint},"accuracy") should be (Link) pulldata("@geopoint",${Geopoint},"horizontalAccuracy") Apart from that I don't think anything is wrong with your location calculations. I just tested a survey I used successfully on Android last week and it does work for me on iOS. I quickly published yours too and it works just fine. Have you updated your survey123 to the latest version (1.8.21)? If not, please do so as pulling location data has just been introduced in the latest version. I hope this helps.

EDN stands for Enterprise Development Network and thus separate licensing rules apply to enable developers to write and test their codes with different versions. As far as I remember from my old days working for Esri, you are allowed to have different versions of Desktop installed on multiple machines. (This ONLY applies to EDN licences.) When purchased as an EDN option, all Desktop licence codes for different versions should come up in your EDN account. If you are ever in doubt, feel free to contact your reseller/distributor as they should be able to clarify it. Since you can only have one Desktop version installed per machine, you can set up different versions on either physical or virtual machines. (There are some caveats for VMs you need to consider like setting static MAC address for the VM and alike not to get your licence corrupted, but all modern VM environments should support these settings. Ask your reseller/distributor about the VM settings you need to make.) To clear up some of the confusions above on Commercial Single Use Desktop licences: yes, you are allowed to install and licence Desktop on a second machine as long as you don't use both machines at the same time. Furthermore, you have to have the same version installed on both; so you are not allowed to have for example 10.2 on one machine and 10.3.1 on the other under the same licence. I hope this helps.

Hi Nicole, You're welcome. (Supported DBMS formats list is here.) 🙂 Sounds like a plan. I'd love to know if there is a solution for it too, in case I need to deal with a situation like this in the future. Thanks.

No worries. Have a look at ideas.esri.com in case someone has already submitted an idea for it. If not, create a new one so people can promote it. 🙂

Hi Dan, You're welcome. Scratch the runtime gdb tool part of my comment above. Just discussed this in another thread, it seems that a SQLite format is being used to store unsent data, and there is no direct tool/workflow I know of at the moment to extract and re-construct the data easily. Have a look at the comments of this thread: https://community.esri.com/message/638876-re-download-survey-from-device-after-upload-failed

Ah, shoot... I thought the same runtime gdb format was being used, but clearly it's not the case - I just had a quick look now. Sorry, I was wrong about the extraction part. On the other hand, you can open the SQLite database directly in ArcGIS (used 10.3.1), but it does not give you any friendly data as everything is stored as it would be sent to the service holding the FS (and you would need to filter for the survey in question as it's being used for all surveys with unsent data)... It might be best to ask Ismael in case they have some workaround or tool to extract/submit the data easily. You may be able to construct a JSON out of the .sqlite content and use the REST API to send the data in, but I haven't done anything like that yet... Sorry I couldn't have been of more help this time.

Hi Nicole, When connected to the device from your computer (or with a suitable app on the device), you can simply copy the ArcGIS folder to have a backup. The data is organised into My Surveys and My Survey Attachments folders (at least on Android, iOS should be similar). It might be a bit tricky to find a particular survey as they are referenced by the Form ID stored in AGOL (so not with the name you gave to your survey). You can find this out if you go to the Form in question in AGOL, click on View Item details and have a look at the URL in the address bar. The part after 'id=' will be the same id used to store the survey on the device. You can try to recover the data from the runtime database(s), have a look at the below tool available in ArcGIS (10.3+). https://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/10.3/tools/conversion-toolbox/copy-runtime-geodatabase-to-file-geodatabase.htm I hope this helps.

Physically you can, but there is no such functionality in survey123. With a suitable app on your device, you can simply copy the ArcGIS folder to the SD card to have a backup. Although it might be tricky to find a particular survey as they are referenced by the Form ID stored in AGOL (so not with the name you gave to your survey). There are ways to recover the data from the local runtime databases (stored locally on the device) if it comes to the worst, have a look at the runtime database tools in ArcGIS (10.3+). https://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/10.3/tools/conversion-toolbox/copy-runtime-geodatabase-to-file-geodatabase.htm Edit: see my further comment below. I hope this helps.

At the moment you cannot directly collect to an SDE instance (via a hosted feature service) in survey123. There may be a functionality for this in the future. I haven't tried it, but you might be able to replace the survey's FS with one that points to your SDE instance. (Schema and other bits must be the same as in the FS created by survey connect/AGOL. Not sure about dependencies and whether the FS id is linked to the survey though.). On the other hand, you can use your SDE instance in Collector via a hosted feature service in AGOL. I hope this helps.

Have a look at this: http://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/share-maps/manage-hosted-layers.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_FFEC223155964B2195C03F43BEC4D2B9 "Further control of edits for layers ... To allow the public or groups with a large number of users to see the layer but still allow a small group of people edit it, a default administrator in your organization can create a group that is configured to allow editing of all contents. Add or invite organization members to this group who you want to edit items. All items shared to this group can be updated by group members, including hosted feature layers that do not have editing enabled." I hope this helps.
