Hi Ali, To label for a single layer it's just a case of turning off the labels for the other layers in the map and then running the tool. You can easily do this on the labeling view of the contents pane. The image below has labeling on for the Roads layer. When you run convert labels to annotation at this point, only the roads labels will be converted.

Hi Jamal, Arcade doesn't exist in Arcmap. Your labels will be using vbscript, jscript or python in your ArcMap project. You can use those parsers in Pro as well - you just need to change it on the Label Class pane. Arcade works differently than the other parsers which is why you would need to use the expression Robert provided. Take a look through the help topic I sent in the previous message for more information. thanks Wendy

Hi, Are you using the Arcade label expression parser? Please see this help topic - Specify text for labels—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop When using Arcade, field formatting on the layer will not be brought over to the labels. Arcade formatting methods will need to be used. To bring across the field formatting you will either need to use the Arcade formatting methods, or use a different expression parser for your labels. thanks Wendy

Hi Flavie, The Maplex Label engine is kept in sync between the latest releases of ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro. If you are seeing differences please send examples. thanks Wendy

Hi Adrian, It looks like the extent or scale of the map has changed slightly in the layout example. This change allowed an additional label to appear (Tuscun grove CV) and it pushed the other label across the feature. Take a look at the extent and scale to ensure they are the same between the map and layout. You can also increase the weight if you need to ensure the labels don't overlap the feature with these other differences. thanks Wendy

Hi As Robert said above, we are working on the annotation functionality right now and it will be available in the near future. We know that many of our users are waiting for this one last bit in their workflows in order to move over to Pro. We understand the importance and we don't want to rush it out in a minor release (eg. 1.4.1). thanks for your patience Wendy Text Product Engineer - Development

Hi Luke, Let's try to get to the bottom of this. We'll need to get through some questions first. Which label engine are you using? Maplex? Standard? You mention that you can repro this on just two features - what type are they? points? lines? polygons? Do you have label classes with SQL queries set up? Do you have an advanced label expression that you're using? Is it querying out features to label differently? How are you labeling the features? basic positioning? or are you getting into advanced fitting strategies and conflict detection? Easiest thing would be to get me an mxd/data that shows the two features you're able to repro the slowdown with. That way I can easily compare the map in ArcMap and then in Pro. thanks Wendy

Hi Devon, We can figure out what that other culprit is. Please contact Technical Support. Once they reproduce the issue it comes to development and if there's an issue we can fix it. thanks Wendy

Hi Devon We're still working on editing annotation. It will be available post Pro 1.4. With regards to Pro slowing down when using Maplex - that shouldn't happen. Labeling happens in a different thread so you can continue working as the labels draw. What are you seeing happen? Wendy
