Hi Christopher, I tested this and was unable to reproduce. Could you send a project package with one of the problem annotation feature classes? I can then test with that. thanks Wendy

Hi John, Presently the only way to do this would be through code - converting the geometry of the annotation to a point. What is the workflow you're trying to achieve? Would it be possible to do this through labeling? We have an option on the map properties to specify whether to rotate the point and polygon labels when the map is rotated. Hi Jill, As everyone has commented above, your map annotation is not supported in Pro. The recommended workflow is to convert those map annotation features into an annotation feature class stored in a geodatabase. That annotation feature class can then be used in Pro. Here's a link on how to do that conversion in ArcMap: Understanding converting between graphics and features—Help | ArcGIS Desktop Please let us know if you have any difficulty Wendy

Hi Kamau, In ArcGIS Pro we moved away from the faux bold and italic settings we had in ArcMap where you could set those styles on fonts that didn't contain them. In ArcGIS Pro you have access to the styles that the font contains and you set which one to use through the font style dropdown. As you mention, some styles do not contain bold and italic versions, yet other fonts contain a great list of styles. This all depends on how the font creator built the font. You can see below that Arial has a wide selection of styles and Tahoma is limited to two. Hope this helps Wendy

Hi Ryan and Blythe, What I'm seeing in the video is that the selection of the layer is being completely lost when you change that labeling property. See how the three contextual Feature Layer tabs (Appearance, Labeling, Data) are lost at the top when the labeling pane goes grey? That's what I'm looking at. A couple things to try - undock the label class pane and put it over on the other side of the screen - close out the other layout, map and catalog views so there is only the one layout open do either one of those steps change anything? Ciara Rowland-Simms I've spoken with Tom Bole about this and he's going to continue on with it. Thanks all! Wendy

Hi Ryan and Blythe, I've installed Pro 2.3.2 on my win10 machine and I'm not able to repro the issue. Is it possible to send a short video of the workflow? I'm must be missing something in my steps. When I share workflows with my offsite colleagues I like to use LICECap. it's quick and easy to use if you don't have another option. Easy to find through google. I'm also going to loop in Ciara who also works in this area. .Ciara Rowland-Simms thanks Wendy

Hi Ryan, I haven't seen this happen before. Do you only see the issue when you're working in layout view? What happens if you access the labeling properties from Map view? I'll try to reproduce it as well. Thanks Wendy

Hi Daniel, I don't see a power point for your workflow. Please attach or outline here. The best way forward at this time may be to just list out what data you have and what end result you are looking for. thanks Wendy

I put notes in the note above. hopefully they help. Maplex will not help with the saving out and applying of properties as it is a high quality label engine. It will help get more labels on your map though. here's a good place to start reading up on it https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/mapping/text/label-with-the-maplex-label-engine.htm Wendy

Below are screen shots of saving label expression, sql query, symbol style and placement style Pane 1 - this is the label expression tab. if you click the green arrow it will launch a dialog to save the label expression. when you go to use it for a new layer, cick the open file icon and load it up pane 2 - this is the sql query tab. click the save icon to launch a dialog to save it. click the load icon to load it up on another layer. pane 3 - this is the symbol tab. click the burger in the top right and click Save symbol to style. this saves the symbol to a style. you can then apply it to another label class using the gallery that is in the labeling ribbon pane 4 - this is the placement tab. click the burger in the top right and click Save placement to style. this saves the placement to a style. you can then apply it to another label class using the gallery that is in the labeling ribbon more help on styles can be found here https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/mapping/layer-properties/save-symbols-in-styles.htm You can also create from scratch and manage your styles in the catalog view

In Pro you can save text symbol styles and label placement styles. Easily shared between layers, maps and coworkers. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/mapping/layer-properties/save-symbols-in-styles.htm The label expression and sql query can be saved out and shared as .lxp and .exp files Hope that helps, Wendy

Hi Kevin, I knew there was a bit more to it than just a regular layer I've taken a look and I think what's happening is the Font encoding is being set to MSSymbol when you apply the layer. if you change it back to Unicode it goes back to characters. Give that a try with the FGDC GeoAge font and let me know what happens thanks Wendy
