Not 100 % sure this is what he meant but it is an excellent source to get started. https://community.esri.com/blogs/myAlaskaGIS

I think the issue was on the server machine I am working with, Internet Explorer must be really locked down and I have troubles bring up the configuration for widgets. When I started using Firefox, it started working. Also, I didn't realize the help files were on the live site, I have since located them and I think things will go smoother for me from now on.

Help me out here, I had a google api key for Flex so I just put it in for this app but I kept getting the message that the provided key is invalid. So I thought, I will just create a new one, I created a new key for server application but I still receive the same error. Also, for some odd reason I cannot seem to get it to run at all on my webserver machine but when I launch it, the widget works until I get the api key error.

Ok, that's what I needed to know, if IIS is required, I would need to figure out my security issue on the ports on my Windows Server machine. I put in an email to IT to see if they can assist me.

Lots of good info, the instructions aren't very clear (on the site, not the blog), does this have to be on a machine that runs Windows Server or can everything be done from a workstation? I'm wondering about the second part of the below quoted post from Robert: A standard installation and workflow would be to install WAB Dev edition on a Workstation do all you configuration and or development and then download the finished app and take that zip files contents and move that to your production web server.

I have to agree with Andrew. I installed the WAB on my GIS Server thinking it had to be there to run the webmap (wrong because it actually runs through AGOL) but anyways now I always get the message that essentially says I cannot establish a connection on port 3344 even though it worked previously.

Robert, I tried that but the server was lagging badly. I went ahead and shut the server down completely and brought it back up. My IT Manager pointed out that the backup tape was taking an unusual amount of time to complete lately so I'm guessing I had some sort of process stuck in memory that was causing the services to hang or lag. It is apparent it had nothing to do with your Identify widget, that is just what my users noticed not working first.

It is starting to look like the print widget or rather the print service is the issue, I am planning to restart the server over the lunch hour and we'll see if this helps.

I recently updated to 3.7 and updated the appropriate widgets including the Robert's Identify widget. Everything is working fine on my machine but many other users of the viewer are unable to use the widget and upon activation other widgets perform poorly as well. Clearing the cache and rebooting the computers doesn't appear to help. I can't speak for the different browsers that are being used, but the most recent one I saw was Chrome, on my computer I am using Internet Explorer. This is incredibly hard to diagnose, I do see a number of entries in the log file that seems to point to the OOTB print widget being the issue though. I don't know a good way to post my log file but I will post what is available in the text document. It is set at 90 days so there is a lot of entries in it. Do I need to reboot the server perhaps?
