Hi Jen, We just (2 days ago) fixed a number of bugs including the SetNull (Andrew) and Invalid field type bugs in our latest release. Could you try and see if you still have issues with your data using this release: http://solutions.arcgis.com/local-government/help/local-government-scenes/get-started/ If issues continue, can you please share some of data so we can get to the bottom of this. To speed up your testing, just select a couple of buildings and run. Thanks Gert

Hi Alexander, Which version of the solution template are you using? We just released a new version which should solve the problem you are seeing. Just open your deployment tool in Pro, search for the solution and you should see an exclamation mark next to it. Click on the solution entry and hit deploy to get the latest version in your org. Can you please test with this version and if the problem is still, there, please share your data so we can test. Thanks Gert

Hi Jen, The Learn lesson is quite out of date, I believe. The latest local government 3D basemap solution has the most up-to-date tools. https://solutions.arcgis.com/local-government/help/local-government-scenes/get-started/ Can you try that and see if it works?

Hi Robert, 2 use cases for these tools: 1. Conceptual planning of new power lines. What would it look like if you build a power line in a certain location. Then view from different locations. Great for internal stakeholder meetings and public consultation. 2. Visualization of existing power lines for example for a 3D city model. Many cities around the world are building or want to build a digital twin of their city. Power lines are just another layer in the 3D model. (Besides, buildings, trees, underground utilities etc.) While these tools do not provide engineering grade power lines, the result is a good visual representation based on available input. Gert

Hi Tatianna, Have a look at this solution. It was used to do the Philadelphia Redevelopment Example. http://solutions.arcgis.com/local-government/help/visibility-assessment/ Gert 3D Solutions Engineer C: +64 2040792466 mailto:gvanmaren@esri.com Solutions for 3D Basemap and Development Review<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__arcg.is_TfOOG&d=DwMF-g&c=n6-cguzQvX_tUIrZOS_4Og&r=NsuEbvdpcyVJVj1JnJc3-1w_VZk4b6UbYrvoh6-71O8&m=DAiDJoYBWRgP-mpUlYeNh-yXXPE5ulVOejwMUfMJNns&s=3rmYuISBX_UbPPPu_DOx2y8G51WXY3dWMirezryZwwY&e=> 3D Flood Impact Solution<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__arcg.is_1ybe0b&d=DwMF-g&c=n6-cguzQvX_tUIrZOS_4Og&r=NsuEbvdpcyVJVj1JnJc3-1w_VZk4b6UbYrvoh6-71O8&m=DAiDJoYBWRgP-mpUlYeNh-yXXPE5ulVOejwMUfMJNns&s=JCfSImcWJLzno033IQqwdal-8OI1zP3wJR2KJHd7Nqc&e=>

Hi, this solution allows you to visualize and analyze flooding data in 3D. It does NOT do any flood modeling. You can bring in the results from flood modeling e.g. FEMA, NOAA, ArcHydro, consultants. Input required: depth raster DTM that was used to create the depth raster water surface elevation raster (optional) features you wish to calculate flood impact for. Let me know if this makes sense. Hi Jesse, If tasks are missing, you can recover these by going to the task folder in the project (latest release only), right click and import the task file. For some reason, the project file gets corrupted occasionally. The task team is looking into this. Also you need to download the texture rule package. The link is in the task or alternatively: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=4b1ee650860a49d2885564eff4fc7440#overview Regards Gert

What are the 3D Tools for Power lines? The 3D Tools for Power lines solution is a collection of ArcGIS Pro tools that simplifies and automates the process of creating 3D visualizations of transmission and distribution lines. The results can be published and visualized in a 3D scene which can be easily shared with stakeholders or the public.
Benefits The following are some benefits of using 3D Tools for Power lines: Visualize existing power lines in 3D and add them to your 3D basemap to serve as a foundation for creating 3D applications and workflows. Visualize proposed power lines in 3D and assess the visual impact on the surrounding landscape. Supports both transmission and distribution lines Works with existing GIS data as input. Creates realistic 3D representations of conductor and tower structures Supports a wide variety of conductor and tower configurations Austin Power line scene Get started with 3D Tools for Power lines Download the 3D Tools for Power lines ArcGIS Pro project. Read the current limitations in the description. Extract the zip file to a folder on your machine. Open the 3DToolsForPowerLines.aprx in ArcGIS Pro. In the Catalog pane, expand the Tasks folder, then double-click on the Create 3D Power Lines task Use the Create 3D Power Lines task to step through the workflow. System requirements The following software is required: ArcGIS Pro 2.3 - 2.4 (Advanced) ArcGIS 3D Analyst extension Note: you might need to install the Microsoft Access Database Engine driver if you encounter a TableToTable error. See this link: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/data/excel/work-with-excel-in-arcgis-pro.htm Feedback It would be helpful for us to know: how these workflows and apps will benefit your organization how the workflows and apps can be improved any bugs or other issues. What is the Flood Impact Analysis solution? The Flood Impact Analysis solution can be used to develop flooding scenarios and visualize the impact on the existing landscape. It leverages flood depth data to analyze the impact of flood events on critical assets such as buildings, bridges, low water crossings and roads. It also can be used to create compelling 3D visualizations that make it easier to understand and communicate the real impact of flooding events. Benefits The flood impact analysis solution template leverages flood depth data to analyze the impact of flood events on critical assets such as buildings, bridges, low water crossings and roads. You can: Define flood impact areas at each flood stage Determine what assets will be impacted and by how much Communicate the results of the analysis to community stakeholders create compelling 3D visualizations that make it easier to understand and communicate the real impact of flooding events. Example: Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS Get started with the Flood Impact Analysis solution Deploy the Flood Impact Analysis Pro project. Open the FloodImpactAnalysis.aprx in ArcGIS Pro System requirements The following software is required: ArcGIS Pro 2.4 or higher (Advanced) ArcGIS 3D Analyst extension ArcGIS Spatial Analyst extension Feedback It would be helpful for us to know: how these workflows and apps will benefit your organization how the workflows and apps can be improved any bugs or other issues. Make sure to check out the January 2019 release of the Local Government 3D basemap solution. This is a major release with a number of important updates: 40% reduction in steps required for elevation, 3D buildings, floors and 3D trees publishing. Faster processing speed when creating elevation layers. Faster processing speed when extracting and fusing buildings. Improved extraction quality and processing speed by adding the ability to: do automatic flat and sloped roof form segmentation. split building footprints by other features such as parcels. Before and after pre-processing the building footprints using splitting and auto-segmentation. Ability to add color to building roofs and facades. Tasks now work in any active scene. LOD1 Building creation now supports selection. Improved automatic unit conversion for default values in all tools. External Task files are included in the project. Support for ArcGIS Pro 2.3.
You can download the latest release of Local Government 3D basemaps solution here and please email feedback (bugs, enhancements) to gvanmaren@esri.com.
