Hi, You could use a DSM as well but some users only have a dtm or have a dsm with poor resolution. Regards Gert

Today we released our new 3D basemaps solution. This solution includes a series of workflows that can be used by mapping technicians to create and maintain a 3D basemap for their organization, leveraging existing data such as lidar, building footprints and underground utility features. The output of the workflows is a collection of 3D layers which can be used to serve as a 3D basemap for desktop, mobile and web mapping applications. Leveraging lidar to create a 3D basemap. This new release is a major enhancement of the existing local government 3D basemaps solution which has been moved to mature support. New in the 3D basemaps solution is the ability to: create 3D bridges using classified lidar and procedural rules create 3D power lines using existing GIS data such as power pole locations create underground pipes from existing utility data We also improved the task workflows and structured them around a layer based output. For more information, check out the "Getting to know 3D basemaps" storymap or visit the ArcGIS Solutions website.

Hi Greg, You do need a depth raster that reflects the depth of flooding for each pixel as input. And yes, the depth raster's z values represents the depth from the water surface to river bottom or coastal land surface during flooding. And the perimeter of the raster indicates how far the flood waters inundates the land. DEM is the same as a DTM in this case. I also recommend downloading the official released version: https://solutions.arcgis.com/emergency-management/help/flood-impact-analysis/ Gert

Hi Odysseas, I checked out your data. Couple of things: All your input rasters need to have the same resolution same projection preferably similar extent shapefiles are not supported. You need to export the shapefile to a GDB. Once you change that, it works. I will put some comments in the doc.

Hi Arsha, No the issue has to do with the “,”. It thinks the number is a string due to the comma and that is what I am trying to fix. My system has decimal points and it is harder to test so I need to simulate this. Gert

Hi Arsha, I believe there is an issue with the validation code of this tool. Could you please test the following? 1. make a copy of your current LOD2Buildings.tbx 2. download the LOD2Buildings.tbx here: 3. replace the old toolbox with the new one 4. load the solution project See if this solves the problem. Hi, I am the developer of the 3D basemap solution. I have a few questions to try and figure out what is going on with your data. - Which parameter in the Segment Roof Parts gives this error? It seems it is the building footprint parameter. This should be a path to a building footprint featureclass. - Does it also fail with the sample data? Regards Gert

The February 2020 release of the Local Government 3D basemap solution offers some new exciting functionality. Leveraging improved geo-processing tools in ArcGIS Pro 2.5, it is now possible to extract high quality building footprints from your lidar which in turn can be used to generate 3D buildings with roof forms.
With this new capability, the Local Government 3D Basemap solution now only requires lidar as input to generate a 3D basemap with 3D buildings, 3D trees, building footprints and detailed elevation surfaces. For best results, buildings need to be classified in the lidar and the quality of the resulting footprints and 3D buildings is dependent on the point density of your lidar. Download your copy of the solution here: Local Government 3D Basemaps | ArcGIS Solutions for Local Government More information on the footprint extraction from lidar can be found here: Building Footprint extraction - Local Government 3D Basemaps | ArcGIS Solutions for Local Government

Hi, You need to deploy the solution to your ArcGIS online account or Enterprise organization. Then from there, you can download the solution package locally on your machine. Let me know if that works for you. Gert Get Outlook for Android<https://aka.ms/ghei36>

Hi Danny, Using the tools, you can create different configurations of transmission towers and distribution poles. You can load in an existing point feature layer and use that layer as input into the tools for placement or manually create locations in a new point feature layer. Regards Gert

Hi Jen, Extracting elevation all depends on extent of the lidar and the resolution of the rasters. So what size area are you trying to process and at what resolution? We have done county wide lidar sets at 0.5m resolution and that took around 12h. If your DEM etc are too high / low, there might be an issue with your units so potentially issues with the projection of the las files. Check you are using the correct projected coordinate system and that the las Z values are the same as the XY units. If you want to manually edit multipatches, you need to convert the polygons with rules. This can be done through the Fuse Roof Form Segments task in the solution template or alternatively use Layer 3D to Feature Class to create multipatches from a 3D polygon layer. Regards gert
