The question type would be select_one list. On the choice tab you can either modify the existing yes no choices by changing the value in the name column to 1 for yes and 0 for no, otherwise you could just create a new entry with the same values (depending if you will have other Yes/No questions in your survey that you don't want to do math with). The you would add and integer , hidden, or calculate question type to the form and populate the calculation field with the ${fieldname}+${fieldname2}... . If this field will be visible to the user you will want to prevent them from overriding the calculated answer. I have attached a quick example which I have attached

I would accomplish this one of two ways Solution one: When creating the choice list for the the questions use the 1 and 0 in the name column but leave the Labels as Yes and No. So your user will see yes and no as the choices but the form will record 1 or 0. This is OK if you aren't planning to do anything else with the data in the future. Solution 2: If you want to preserve the yes and no values in your table you could put a hidden item below each Question and calculate a value (1 or 0) based on the previous answer. You would do this by using a the putting an if statement in the calculation field Something like if(${PreviousQuestion}='Yes',1,0) With either solution you would then be able to use the calculate field to calculate the total score.

This is more of a MS Power automate problem but I am hoping someone here will have some insight into why my flow is failing. So, created the flow based on the video by @IsmaelChivite where the submission of the form triggers the generation of the report which is uploaded to OneDrive then sent via e-mail as a .pdf to the e-mail address entered in the form. I was able to get the flow to work with the personal outlook and Gmail connectors. However, the mail is always flagged as spam with huge warning messages. To work around this our IT group has setup a SMTP service. I have the connector configured but am having trouble configuring the attachment settings. Without the attachment the e-mail gets sent fine. When I configure the attachment the flow fails and I believe it has something to do with he attachment type which was left blank with the Gmail and outlook connectors.

I would like to create a Multiple choice One answer question. Instead of labels I want to present the user with a graphic sketch and they chose the one that represents what they are seeing in the field. The application is manhole inspections where we want to capture pipe configuration with flow direction.

It would be very useful to have a stopwatch timer question type available. If one is in the field collecting data of a tablet or phone it is very awkward to have to use a separate device to to collect time. We currently work around this by having two time question and taking the difference, but in practice this seems to be a clunky workaround. It would be uch cleaner to have a dedicated timer question type. survey132 #NewQuestionType #timer

Sorking on a Survey123 form to collect information about fire hydrants. One of the things I need to collect is Year Cast (Stamped on hydrant). I am not sure the best way to do this. Option one is to collect as a type date and then calculate the value into a non date field (integer or text). Another is just to collect it as a integer or text to start. Am am thinking of how to constrain the entry to a valid year (and not have to edit the survey it every year). Also what is the bet method if input spinner, keyboard, etc. If anyone has an experience or advice I would appreciate the feed back. Ismael Chivite James Tedrick

Lou, We used to store that as an attribute with hydrants and was manually updated. If you have implemented a geometric network or the new utility network you could calculate it. Another solution might be to find teh nearest water main feature and grab the size that way. Finding the nearest feature—Help | ArcGIS Desktop

I had some field workers complete without being logged in so they were saved as draft to the SQLite db on the mobile device as drafts. I can't send them because the username data type wasn't populated and is a required field. I tried logging in and send but that didn't work. It turns out that there is a bug (BUG-000113164 ) that screws things up. I downloaded the SQLite db to my desktop and can access it via the Survey 123 desktop app but get the same results as the mobile device. I would like to manually edit the SQLite db but am not sure how to do it as structure is very off looking to me. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you looked at the Collector or Survey123 apps. I find both fairly user friendly but of the two Survey 123 is a little less intimidating. Both are free and fairly easy to configure to your needs. I would publish the data to AGOL and update maintain it using which ever app fits your needs.

I have never used it directly by every time I have researched this in the past I always ended up looking at CompassCom's solution (http://compasscom.com/). Their solutions were very mature and fully functional for what we were looking at. That being said it is also very pricey and this was all pre GeoEvent Server was introduced which probably disrupted tis sector a bit.
