I am creating a form for use by field personnel to use during hydrant flushing. Along with other data I want to capture how long the hydrant flushed. I am thinking i can put two questions in my survey asking start time and end time. I would like to auto populate this field with the current time when the hydrant is opened rather then when the survey is started, then again capture the time when the hydrant is closed. Can this be done or are my field guys going to have to dial in the times manually. Then I need to calculate the duration of flush (this could be minutes to over an hour) so I can multiply by the flow rate to measure the water used during flushing. Can this be done in Survey123 or will I need to do this on the back end. Any help is appreciated.

I am pretty sure everything you need is on the appliance, the concept is you can put everything onsite and behind your firewall and need no external connection. It was developed for 3 letter government agencies who cannot be connected to external networks.

If you are worried about dependence on Esri's online basemaps for your apps you could always look at their Data Appliance for ArcGIS it lets you bring Esri's data on premises. Most of the mobile apps do have offline capabilities that let you work disconnected so maybe a good idea to download key data and application to disconnect mode prior to impending storm. I would also think given emergency responders need to communicate and utilize mobile equipment data that the re[air or establishment of temporary cellular networks will be high priority and as long as your organization is considered provide vital services you should be given access to these even if the public is not.

I am deploying GIS to our field workers using ArcGIS Online and mobile apps like collector, survey123, etc. We are at the phase where we need to choose which hardware we will use. In past projects I have used iPads successfully. We are currently looking at both the iPad Air2 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 as options. Some of our basic requirement are: ~9.7" in size Have LTE Cellular capability built in 64 GB of storage or more Have rugged (i.e. Otter Box Defender) case available Be purchasable through main stream channels (we are a local government agency) Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated. #Mobile #Hardware Chris McClain Lakewood MUA

I don't believe survey123 is the best tool for this type of tallying activity. Unless you were to do the initial survey by hand than once all of the totals are collected input this into a survey as a means of data input. Then it would be fairly easy to create inputs for each bird and distance and enter the correct value.

You would still need to integrate the data collected with the feature on the back end correct? I mean the data you collect with Survey123 will be collected in a separate data set not within the original feature. Granted it will can be associated through a relate or join and done either programmatically or manually. To eliminate additionally backend steps the updates have to occur in collector, correct? Alan, The script worked and returned 12 items from the MP table. This is my first foray into routing networks so I am not sure how to correct this issue now that I have identified these 12 items. Chris M

I am having some issues with the Process MultiNet Street Data tool from the Street Data Processing Toolbox created by the Network Analyst team (found here http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=755f96fcde454ece8f790fecb3e031c7). Unfortunately this tool isn’t supported by tech support. Do any of you have a contact within the Network Analyst team that might be able to help me. It appears the tool doesn’t like something about the Sign Path Table from TomTom. Here is the Error from Creating signpost feature class and table... Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index at System.Collections.ArrayList.get_Item(Int32 index) at GPProcessVendorDataFunctions.ProcessMultiNetDataFunction.MakeSignGeometry(ArrayList edgesData, ArrayList reverseEdge) at GPProcessVendorDataFunctions.ProcessMultiNetDataFunction.CreateSignposts(String inputSITablePath, String inputSPTablePath, String outputFileGdbPath, IGPMessages messages, ITrackCancel trackcancel) at GPProcessVendorDataFunctions.ProcessMultiNetDataFunction.Execute(IArray paramvalues, ITrackCancel trackcancel, IGPEnvironmentManager envMgr, IGPMessages messages) Failed to execute (ProcessMultiNetData). Any help would be appreciated. Christopher McClain Sr. GIS Specialist Brick Township MUA

Is there a way to bulk load files (in this case pdfs) up to me ArcGIS Online for Organizations account? I have some files I would like to post here but it looks like I have to load them one at a time which is a deal breaker due to volume of files. Chris M

Your second requirement might be tough If you are looking to try and keep a hosted service in sync with a local data set. Right now this requires a manual process where you filter out the updates made to the hosted sservices, duplicate them in the local and republish to add the local updates to the hosted. If the edits are only occurring in one location things get easier. Chris M

It appears the incorrect projection is defined for the shapefiles. When I create a xy features for the included .txt file and define a geographic coordinate system WGS1984 the points align fine with india. The Shapefiles also have a defined projection of WGS 1984 but the coordinated don't resemble reasonable Lat and Lon values. It would appear that the projection for these shapefiles has been incorrectly defined.
