I am working on an app with a fairly lengthy Filter list. I want people to be able to turn them off with one click. I have turned on Turn off Filters turned on However, the "switch" is at the bottom of the scrolled list and doesn't "stick" until you've scrolled to the bottom. It is also unclear to the average person what it actually does. I propose that the switches get moved to the top of the widget. And have a text title so people can see them and know what they are. Or that are options to have them displayed top or bottom, and with title or without.

I can only imagine... Thanks for considering it. Another thought is to figure out a way to re-direct people who want to use the Erase tool and get blocked by the license to the Pairwise tool other than a message that says that it works better... Just throwing things against a wall trying to see what sticks. There's a pretty big price jump between Creator and Professional +. I'm glad I found this out before we did the license switch. This one tool plays a factor in the licenses we're looking at.

That's nice to know. So, how hard is it to move the Erase tool to Basic? Is the code for that "trapped" behind other code that's only available at Advanced? I would honestly prefer to see Erase go away entirely to reduce confusion. I've been annoyed at this being in Advanced for years. We're looking at restructuring our licenses and just about got more than we needed for this tool.

Same. I was just working on my "medium" and "small" customizations. I would like the windows to start collapsed but then nobody would know what they are. Being able to put "Amenities" on this tab. and "Parks and Legend" on this tab would clear up a lot of screen real estate.

The Kindle edition is cheaper than the paperback (although it looks like the price jumped since I looked at it yesterday. Stupid Amazon.) $90 for a tech book is pretty much on par with some of the other tech books out there. With three authors and as much information as this contains, I would say it's worth it. I have "Designing Map Interfaces" and it has changed the way I've been creating maps and apps. Even though the technology has involved. I would think that getting this knowledge all in one place at one time would be beneficial even if workflows change over time. This would give you the foundational knowledge that you can build on as technology evolves.

Currently to download a subset of data based on location, the user needs to turn on the "filter as map moves" in the filtering pane and then Toggle Filters in the download view. It is not clearly defined how to use the downloads to new or infrequent users. While I have created instructions and a gif on my Open Data Hub, it would be nice if these steps were more intuitive. I would suggest: Renaming "Toggle filters" to "Download filtered data" Have "Download filtered data" be on by default when a filter is triggered Adding text to the download pane that says, "To download a subset of data, use the Filter Tool first." Thanks.

That's it. Yes. Thank you. I don't know how it is all set up either. I just know I can share what's in my hosted folder without logging in. That's how I made my vector tile basemaps. Well, shoot. I'm glad I asked. I'll definitely have to remember that when it comes to training.

Way back in the day when hub first was a thing, I think I remember that when you hit "Publish" It would publish all of the pages in the hub. Now you can only publish one page at a time. Recently, I was updating ALL of my pages to update some of the the theming, but I didn't want to publish any of them until I had all of them updated. I was using best practices and only had one page open at a time, so we I got updating everything I had to go back in and publish each page individually. It would be nice to have a "Publish All" choice so in cases like this, we could, well, publish all... I could see having a dialog pop open that lists all of the pages with their last edit date and user to be able to "de-select" pages we don't want to publish.

@GrantHopkins1 GeoJobe has a "View Item Dependencies" tool in their free version of Admin Tools for ArcGIS Online. You can select an item or items and see what it is using and what is using it. Pretty nifty.

I currently have, and want to continue to have, the enterprise portal be accessible to everyone on our intranet, so inside the firewall. I want to use it for marketing GIS to other employees as part of our road map. Anonymous access is enabled. To get to the portal, however, you have to be on our network which requires a log in to access. I just want to make sure nobody can "flip a switch" and suddenly everything we think is behind the firewall isn't. (Not that it's too big of a deal since it's all subject to FOIA anyway. I just want to keep "employee stuff" internal and "public stuff" external. When publishing to Enterprise from Pro anything that is published as hosted goes into a hosted folder that IS accessible off network. (Which is also what I want.) Would I be correct in assuming that the best/only way for Enterprise to "host" data without it showing up in the Hosted folder on my Rest Service would be to add it as an item rather than publishing it from Pro. (I'm just thinking of how to train users because from what I remember from training is that people publish from Pro to AGOL and I don't want them to use that workflow to put data in the Portal.)

I have a question about ArcGIS Portal. I'm going to preface this with I know that we are running Server 11.3x, our enterprise is federated, Portal is behind the firewall, we have a linux web adaptor and a server outside the firewall for the public. I haven't administered an enterprise database/server in, like, 20ish years, so my understanding of how all of this works is outdated and buried underneath many cobwebs. Currently, when I share to "Everyone" in Portal the only people that see what I'm sharing are the people on our intranet. Which is the way that I want it. The only things that are shared publicly are data that are published through ArcGIS Pro. Question 1. Should I have any concern that sharing to "everyone" could potentially share to the outside world? If so, what can I do to prevent it. (Other than managing every single person in my organization as viewers.) Question 2. Is there a way to publish data from ArcGIS Pro to "Everyone" in my Portal, but not "Everyone" on the internet. Or should the COP be for people who want to put data on the Portal to add it as an item?
