You'll have to wait for the next version to be released if you're doing it via an Arcade Expression https://community.esri.com/thread/229974-arcade-functions-in-popups-arent-working-in-explorer . If you want to launch survey123 then that's whitelisted so you can do it via a URL link in the normal pop up config (without Arcade).

Yes, at the REST endpoint I can see the ExportTiles option (image below). It's also not a hosted service so I don't think we're impacted by that bug. I'm intrigued by what the 'Download Map' function is doing compared to the Create Map Tile Package tool, as they must be coded differently for a very similar function.

Kory Kramer, Joel Whitney any ideas on this one? I'm using Pro 2.3.1 and trying to create a TPK using the Create Map Tile Package GP tool. The service is a locally hosted cached map service (10.5.1) with settings for exporting 5mil tiles. Using the Download Map option I can't get a low enough max cache scale and if I try to use Create Map Tile Package I get this 'Layer type is not supported: ' error. Max scale I need is 1:1000 (LOD 16 for this service) Error I get when using Create Map Tile Package Cached service config:

Solution and one final quirk: After many upgrades and downgrades of Pro I was on Pro 2.3.1 with Data Interop 2.2 installed, as I hadn't yet upgraded to 2.3 of Data Interop. Once I removed Data Interop most of the oddities went away and Pro was again recognizing file geodatabases properly. There's still one case where it isn't recognizing a file geodatabase which is if I drag a file geodatabase from the Catalog Pane to say the Output Feature Class input box. It automatically changes the output to be a .shp. The default FC in the default Project FGDB is fine, if I manually copy/enter the path to write a new FC in a known FGDB it works fine and if I browse to a FGDB and enter a FC name it's also fine. Default: FGDB dragged from Catalog Pane:

In Arc Catalog I can right click the Feature Class->Properties-> Fields and any changes I make are permanent. With Pro I click the Data tab-> Fields and the Fields table appears, I then change the Alias but it doesn't update the feature class, just the GUI elements like Attribute Table, Pop ups etc. To permanently update a field alias I have to use the Alter Field GP tool on every field...bring back the Arc Catalog method!

I think at one point I did have 2.3 Pro with 2.2 Interop installed. I uninstalled 2.3 and reinstalled 2.2.4 and that didn't fix the issue, I had to remove Data Interop for Pro to work properly.

Yes, uninstalling data interop resolved this issue for me. I'd moved through a number of versions and patches with upgrades and downgrades because of testing/bugs/issues so I'm guessing there was a conflict. I haven't yet applied data interop again as I need to upgrade to 2.3 or 2.3.1 and will then try applying it.

I had a similar issue with nearly all GP tools not working. Same issue whereby I'd try run a tool, cancel it and wait forever for it to do nothing, then had to kill Pro from Task Manager. Try uninstalling the Data Interop extension if you've got it installed.

It was a file geodatabase created by ArcGIS Pro. I've tried with a new one in both Pro (2.3.1) and Arc 10.6.1 and get the same result. I suspect it's some obscure IT security policy that's been implemented as I've noticed there are some peculiar things happening with any file formats which are made up of multiple files e.g. fgdb's and shapefiles when I use ArcGIS Pro. If I copy and paste a shapefile in ArcGIS Pro it only copies and renames the .shp and .shp.xml files making it corrupt. If I rename a .shp same thing, only the .shp and .shp.xml files are renamed. All seems to work fine in Arc 10.6.1. I'll follow up with our network security/IT teams and see what I can find out.

In Pro 2.3 (and 2.3.1) using the Copy Features geoprocessing tool and after electing to place the output in a File Geodatabase it's insisting on adding '.shp' to the end of the file. I then tried removing the .shp from the output file name but it automatically adds it once Run is clicked. From the Python window it also fails, as despite not including '.shp' on the output parameter it's tried to add it, when looking at the result: arcpy.management.CopyFeatures("Structure", r"C:\Temp\Matai\MMPK\Data.gdb\Structures", None, None, None, None) <Result 'C:\\Temp\\Matai\\MMPK\\Data.gdb\\Structures.shp'> Using the tool to create shapefiles (outside of a file geodatabase) works fine.

Mark Bockenhauer, was this fixed in the Pro 2.3.1 patch? I gather VTPK's don't allow for pop-ups so I tried creating a MMPK (via the Create Mobile Map Package GP tool) but have run into an issue where I can see it in Explorer for ArcGIS but it won't open the mmpk (after downloading it). The MMPK created from a VTPK works fine but there's no pop ups. I then tried the Share As Mobile Map Package option using the 'Save package to file' option and it's thrown a somewhat illogical error of 'External sharing process failed'. Explorer for ArcGIS

When trying to create a map tile package in Pro 2.3.1 I'm running into a "Layer type is not supported: layer name" error for a cached map service. I can't run it via the geoprocessing tool as it hangs so I'm using the Python window. I've tried both an ArcGIS Online basemap and a locally hosted cache map service (configured for allowing clients to export 5mil cache tiles). Both basemaps I can use the 'Download Map' tool with to create a tpk but that limits the scales for a given extent - which I thought was due to the number of tiles to export setting but appears not to be - so I can't create a tpk with the extent I need with all the scales. Why does Download Map (to create a tpk) work with the same layers which the Create Map Tile Package doesn't support? Explorer for ArcGIS Collector for ArcGIS

The next step is creating an offline version of the map, for Explorer for ArcGIS, with the same linking capability. I created an expression in the ArcGIS Pro pop-up: "appname://?assetNumber=" + $feature.MXASSETNUM + "&location=" + $feature.MXLOCATION I then linked that to an image, using the expression in the Hyperlink field, to emulate what we've got in the online webmap. This looked like it was going to work brilliantly until I checked the URL that's being passed to the web browser and it's "appname:///?assetNumber=13136675&location=ACW-TP807688" < the URL has a third '/' in it. If I use one of Esri's default app schema's, which appear to be whitelisted as they can be used directly in the hyperlink field, it appears to launch the app correctly. Any ideas? Is this a bug or security restriction on non-whitelisted URLs? ArcGIS Pro

Thanks Chris Counsell and Joel Whitney for the details, much appreciated. Chris I tried the Attribute Expression option and that works for AGOL and holds the url but as per Joel's post it doesn't get honoured in Explorer. Joel, I tried: 1. The url wasn't tappable on iOS with v18.1.2 of Explorer - might be because I don't have an up to date version of the other app with the URL schema configured, so iOS doesn't recognise it? 2. Will be great when Explorer supports Attribute Expressions as it looks like the best method and will be very useful for multiple things. 3. Not really possible with these datasets as they're corporate layers used by multiple applications. For the time being we'll stick with the url link from the Media image and then update it when Explorer can use Attribute Expressions.
