In Arc Catalog I can right click the Feature Class->Properties-> Fields and any changes I make are permanent.

With Pro I click the Data tab-> Fields and the Fields table appears, I then change the Alias but it doesn't update the feature class, just the GUI elements like Attribute Table, Pop ups etc.

To permanently update a field alias I have to use the Alter Field GP tool on every field...bring back the Arc Catalog method!

Hi Mark - to make the ALIAS permanent to the GDB level rather than the Field Level, in the Fields Designer click the dropdown to the right of the Current Layer and select Data Source.  Make all your ALIAS changes and then click save.  Your ALIAS updates will now persist at the GDB level.

Thanks. How can I update the layer aliases with the data source aliases? Is it possible with a single click?
