Using the AGOL dashboard, the Header's selector buttons are too small to read very well on the newer 4K 70 inch screens. The appearance dialog has (Small, Medium, Large). Please include larger selector button text sizes. Example: (Tiny, Small, Medium, Large, Huge, Gigantic) -Bill

It was my reading of the 10.5.1 deprecation notice. 10.5.1 Support for cluster functionality Esri is announcing the deprecation of the cluster functionality within the ArcGIS Server component of ArcGIS Enterprise. Instead we recommend creating separate ArcGIS Server sites where multiple clusters would have been used previously. While we are not announcing a specific future release where cluster functionality will be removed, the use of multiple clusters for new deployment is strongly discouraged and existing deployments are advised to migrate away from use of clusters as part of ongoing maintenance and upgrades. Note: this does not affect the ability to create multi-machine sites. ArcGIS Server sites with multiple machines continue to be fully supported. vs. 10.6 deprecation notice Support for Multiple Clusters with ArcGIS Server ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6.x will be the last major release series to support multiple clusters with ArcGIS Server. This was previously deprecated at ArcGIS Enterprise 10.5.1 and we are n ow announcing the official removal of that feature from the product in the next major release. Users with multiple clusters are strongly encouraged to migrate to a different deployment pattern to avoid disruption at later releases.

Thank you Jonathan, That Scott MacDonald blog link included a reference at the bottom of the page to this blog post about the deprecated multi-cluster ArcGIS Server option which is what was bugging me about this issue. This blog post clarifies we can still use the cluster option to step into new machines. How to migrate to single-cluster ArcGIS Server sites -Bill

ESRI BUG Status Update: Username is longer than 20 characters The status of Esri BUG-000102658 has been changed to the dreaded "Not in Current Product Plan". During the installation of Portal for ArcGIS When specifying the Portal for ArcGIS service account The following error message displays (If the combined length of the username and the domain name is longer than 20 characters) "Username is longer than 20 characters" Public Explanation: Use Domain\username instead of the User Principle Name (useranme@domain). This reminds me of old Arc/Info UNIX coverages, shape files or DOS 8.3 naming limitations. I thought Active Directory enabled systems configured for single sign-on allow 64 or more characters for authentication needs. Maybe I missed it but I did not see this 20 character limitation listed in the esri documentation. The Portal for ArcGIS account—Portal for ArcGIS (Windows) Installation Guide (10.5) | ArcGIS Enterprise I found this link about secure authentication that lists options for up to 1,000 characters in the authentication process. Users are unable to authenticate if their usernames are greater than 20 characters. I think there is room for improvement here from both sides and look forward to reading you comments in this discussion.

Does it matter if the starting (single) ArcGIS GIS server is federated with Portal? Is the ability to do this included with 10.4.1, 10.5, 10.5.1, 10.6, 10.6.1?

Hi Eva, Not yet updated from 10.5 Workaround is to create a new database user that only has privileges to view the "duplicate" name feature class. In the mxd that feature class is connected to using the new user. -Bill

Derek, Thank you for clarifying the chart options. It turns out I was using a map service in the dashboard and it did not allow me to see the filter action for the webmap. Talking with support we re-published the mxd to include a feature service and created a new dashboard to use just that feature service. (The dashboard webmap item did not allow us to change the source of the webmap) Then, in the new dashboard's chart filter action we could apply the filter to the webmap (feature service). It still does not have the zoom, flash, etc. but now it is much more useful to click the chart and only see that category displayed in the webmap. ArcGIS Ideas https://community.esri.com/ideas/15046

(Enhancement Request) Map actions are currently not supported in group-by charts. Reference: Serial Chart - zoom to features I have been using the Operations Dashboard desktop software for quite some time. I'm now migrating over to the new version; however, it's a little more difficult to understand. What I am trying to do may not be possible in the online environment. I created a serial chart (bar graph) for a feature category such as "Maintenance" and the graph shows exactly what I want it to show separated out into categories but I'm trying to click on one of those categories in the chart and have it highlight/select and zoom to the data in the map. Is this a possibility? It is in the desktop version but I may not be looking in the right spot in the online version. Any help would be appreciated! Jarom Hlebasko Derek Law
