The print widget is very useful to my users however one issue that they are running into is that the print widget doesn't allow you to preview the area that will show up on the map. I tried to utilize the custom widget https://community.esri.com/docs/DOC-3841-print-plus-widget-version-116-july-12-2015 however when I published it and tested it out I noticed that it was showing an area that was being "Printed" but it didn't actually include that area. We are looking for this similar form of functionality to incorporated into the default print widget.

Amanda, are you publishing to ArcGIS Enterprise using ArcGIS Pro or ArcMap? We came across BUG-000117216 where Hidden fields were visible in a feature service when publishing referenced layers from ArcGIS Pro to Portal 10.6.1. We were able to fix this issue by publishing the feature service to ArcGIS Pro from ArcMap.

Currently we are using Collector for ArcGIS and in the data collection the collector needs to identify the cross streets where the point was taken. In order to provide better accuracy, we made a domain based upon the street names. However this has been an administrative nightmare because every time we add a new street (happens a lot here), I then have to go in and update the domain and republish the service. It would be helpful if I was able to rather than have to identify explicate values in a domain I point it to a feature class or a feature service and the respective field and then uses those values as the "Domain"

Our IT department has a long naming convention for servers which are not user friendly. It would be nice that when a REST endpoint is published to ArcGIS Enterprise, as a sys admin, I can make the choice to have the url be: <cname>.<domain>/<web adaptor>/rest/services or for it to be <host server name>.<domain>/<web adaptor>/rest/services.

Recently the city I work for has taken great strides to implement a more modern GIS. Part of that was to develop a better understanding of the technology that is currently out there and how can we utilize this. I should note that we moved from nothing to something without spending any additional money with Esri as it was included in our annual maintenance. I came on board on April 24, 2017 and the GIS environment at that time was minimal due to low staffing and just trying to keep the ship from sinking. The City had Geocortex and a typical 90’s approach to the creation of web maps in that you throw everthing onto one map service and just have people toggle on and off what they need. This worked but it created ArcSOC’s that were 300-500 mb. Plus from a security standpoint, we weren’t too fond of the public hitting our Servers and having our DMZ taking the brunt of the traffic. So, the decision in June was to move our public interactive maps over to ArcGIS Online and allow anonymous access and by doing so, ArcGIS Online took the brunt of the traffic and we had the connection between our server and Esri to secure. I’m not going to lie that this change was seen by the public in mixed regards because people were breaking away from their muscle memory but after we got past the building of a new muscle memory, our maps in ArcGIS Online were well received! We followed the process of build first then customize and it worked beautifully! We now have 7 different mapping apps deployed to the public using ArcGIS Online and have replaced outdated fill in the field and it will query our data but not show you a map forms to not allow for an interactive mapping experience based upon our authorative GIS information. Fast forward to January 2, I received a request for data from a citizen where all they wanted was the City Limits in a GIS format. This was not a problem for us to fulfill this request they just needed to pay the staff time to generate the request. But when I realized that it would be roughly $30 for the staff time alone, it dawned on me that the staff time is making the data not worth requesting from businesses and users in our community. So, I floated the idea by our IT Manager and he loved the idea and I started to build our Open Data Site. After getting the different stakeholder buy in and after talking with the City Administation, we received approval to move forward with our Open Data site! It isn’t live yet because of some changes I need to make. But I just want to recap the amazing part of this: In less than 1 year, we have realized and started to deploy a Web GIS. First to the public the next step is internal. In less than 1 year, we provided some of our most popular datasets to our citizens and to other ArcGIS Users at no cost through Open Data. And in less than 1 year, our payments to Esri have stayed the same and within the next year, our we are hoping that our GIS expenditure will go down due to moving off of other platforms into one centralize system of record! arcgisonline arcgis opendata localgovernment localgovernmentdatamodel Huge thanks to Matthew Twietmeyer for all his help!

Another enhancement that many people have been asking for which has finally come true it looks like is showing the usage in the current time zone as opposed to UTC. This answers this idea: https://community.esri.com/ideas/6934 I went online to check our usage and it is no longer in UTC and corresponds with my current time zone!

Did you enable tracking on the hosted feature service? The ability to edit only that data which a user created requires the feature service to track who created what.

To tie off of what Dan said, you would need the Production Mapping extension and have it installed and authorized. If you do not have the Production Mapping extension you would need to contact your sales rep. Heads up is that the extension roughly costs about 4 times the cost of the normal extensions (3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst, etc.)

ArcGIS Pro by default is licensed by named user through ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise. You are able to convert the license to being a Single Use license instead of Named User however this would make it so that you don't have the flexibility to access ArcGIS Pro from any computer. If you are wanting to authorize ArcGIS Pro as a Single Use license, you would need to follow the steps outlined here: Single Use licenses—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop

You can use Collector for ArcGIS or Survey123 with using a paid subscription to ArcGIS Online with you using a Level 2 Named User. You do not need to have ArcGIS Desktop. ArcGIS Desktop helps author features for data collection but it isn't required. You would just sign into the app with your user name and password.

Hi rscheitlin While this gets closer to what I am wanting, I want the users to be able to set a date range and then the default date range shows what is currently on the filter shown on the map. We provide crime data for up to 1 year back and so I have built in an initial filter that is only showing crimes within the last 60 Days but I want them to on load see the date range as being 9/30/2017 - 11/29/2017 rather than just an arbitrary in the last 60 days
