You are exactly right. I don't know where I got confused (I've been looking at a LOT of LGM/ESRI mapplications lately) but I could have sworn that the icons popped up during the initial extent. I was wrong. I went to the 'Try it live' site and apparently MY setup has actually been working, just not like I expected it to. And here I thought it was broken. Thanks!

http://maps.cityoftulsa.org/MyGovernmentServices/default.htm So I've started deploying the MyGovernmentServices application. I'm hitting some issues and I'm almost at a loss for ideas. If you visit the map, click on the search tool, and just take the default address: 175 East 2nd Street Tulsa OK 74103 It will zoom out to an extreme zoom and drop the dot. Now we only have a few items populated at the moment. Museums, Libraries, Community Centers and Fire Stations. Once the map zooms out, you can select one of these items from their respective card at the bottom of the screen, and THAT'S when that layer becomes visible. BUT we maintain the satellite-level zoom view. I'm not sure where I went wrong. But I could use some guidance from someone who has done this already, for sure. FYI. I've followed the step-by-step located here, here, and here. I'm hosting from our own server, I've IIS application pooled it, registered and gotten my secret, the works. Any ideas?

I've downloaded the MyGovernmentServices files. I've setup 4 layers in the LGM. Museums, Libraries, Community Centers, and Fire Stations. I've placed the MGS (MyGovernmentServices) Application online. I've edited the Operation Layers in config.js to point to the Layers (whether there is data there or not). I set the BaseMapLayers to the following: parcelMap : http://server.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/rest/services/World_Street_Map/MapServer hybridMap : http://server.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/rest/services/World_Imagery/MapServer Set my Extent to "-10689100, 4317350, -10675300, 4323850" Set the LocatorSettings to use this LocatorURL : http://geocode.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/World/GeocodeServer Set the geometry service to our service. Added both the sandbox and services url to the proxy. And I get... Nada. I've spent a bit tweaking this and that, trying to get SOME reaction, but nothing works... I'm wondering if anyone that has done the MGS has hit similar walls.

We've begun the process of getting our Open Data page up and running (thanks to Chaya Balsiger) and as part of this I'm using the experience to get back in my graphic designer side. So I'm putting together the icons for things like the Political, Education and Public Safety topic sections, and I've helped size some panorama images. The problem is the recommended image sizes cause scroll bars to load up whenever the page is previewed! I'm not talking just A scroll bar but scroll bars on bottom and to the right of each image. I have had to resize every single image DOWN from the recommended size TO roughly 2-5% smaller overall. Is this just a glitch with the Open Data that everyone knows about or has every luckily only submitted images MUCH smaller than the recommended sizes? Is there something we can do to avoid this issue going ahead?

Sorry about that... lol. THAT would be annoying. My bad. Here is the locally hosted version. http://maps.cityoftulsa.org/sandbox/lmercado/downtown/ It's the 'Map Tour' storymap.

We are using the online editor to build our Storymap and hosting it locally. So far everything is going smooth, we are close to releasing our first Storymap, but... we would like to add some links in the header... and maybe an overlay image on the map (icon image not layer). However, nothing I do to the locally hosted HTML nor JS files does anything to the output. I really don't want to (if it's even possible) implement jQuery in order to make what I want happen... but I will. Is there any other route?

So is there no way to edit the header area and include additional text and links from there? We would like to provide a link to our GIS department from these maps that we develop but all the links made available are just enough to cover both the overall City and the department mentioned. I don't want to go all jQuery on these maps, but if I have to... lol.

It won't let me make the change to custom logo. If I click 'Custom logo' and enter the URL to the logo I want and a click through link as well, when I hit apply... the change on screen doesn't happen... AND when I save, and refresh the LOCALLY HOSTED copy of the storymap it still shows the esri logo. The ONLY option I can make is to "No logo" which removes ALL logos. The url I want for the logo is: http://maps.cityoftulsa.org/images/cot-logo-horizontal-web_.png The click-through link is: http://www.cityoftulsa.org Doesn't work...

I can't believe that there isn't an easily discovered, easily searchable API reference for ESRI's Python. I'm trying to get more information on the function: GetFieldValue_mb I understand that this is in the ModelBuilder. However, when I export as Python Script I now have a Python Command. I need to be able to read the documentation on this and it is nowhere easily discovered. Very frustrating... anyone have any ideas?

Rickey Fite, the problem is that I am not getting past the unzip part. Once I unzip the download, and double-click the 'startup.bat' file, I get these error messages. I've upgraded Node.js, I've tried browsing through the startup.bat on both my working BETA WAB and the new download of WAB 1.1 and I'm not seeing anything special...

You know what would be awesome is if there was a way to setup a group collab document so that multiple people could update a document. I just noted some things that I would edit for this doc but I can't... C'mon ESRI... group collab!

First off... I'm jealous. Having that many power users would be so nice. We are still on the ground floor when it comes to establishing GIS for our organization. So you just give all users an account? Or do you have a "department" account for publishing/editing maps/data that are department specific?

Rebeca rebeca "What I see this doing is not maintaining another, and possibly weaker, set of usernames and passwords." Is there better documentation on what this does or how somewhere? I need to know "for sure" what and how this works before it could even be considered. It APPEARS to be an amazing option that make a LOT of things simpler.
