On a Survey123 form (developed in Connect, to be used in the field app) we have html formatting for several labels and hints (e.g. bold text). In a geopoint question, we have html formatting for the hint. This displays correctly in the form (tested in the field app) but the same hint is shown in the map view with the html codes but without the actual html formatting. Is there any way around this? Hint html below, along with screenshots of the form and the map view affected. Select the record location from the map by either: <ol><li>using the GPS on your device to find your current location,</li> <li>entering a grid reference / coordinates in the search bar, or </li> <li>manually selecting a location on the map.</li></ol> <p><b>Notes:</b></p> <p>If you have selected a refuge, this has already been calculated for you.<p>Location accuracy warnings are only relevant if you have used your device's GPS location.</p> <p>You <b>MUST</b> be signed in and have an internet connection to be able to search using OSGB grid references.</p> Many thanks, Rob

Hi Philip Wilson, I am in a similar situation where I have multiple forms pointing to the same feature service. However, when I try and share each form to different groups (or in some cases, to no groups at all for ones still in development) on the survey123 website, the group sharing settings overwrite on all the forms linked to the same feature service. How can we change group sharing for different forms whilst maintaining the connection to the same feature service? Many thanks, Rob

We are working with a large number of volunteers and stakeholders on a citizen science project to collect wildlife sightings. They have community user accounts as part of our Hub Premium subscription. The stakeholders include landowners / landmanagers who are only interested in seeing data (sites, survey areas, species records etc.) within their ownership. We have therefore created multiple hosted view layers from each hosted feature layer to match the view required for a particular group of community users. Rather than creating separate web maps or web apps for each user group, we would prefer to share all of the views in the same map, with the users only seeing content shared to them (based on their logins and the groups they are members of). We have tried this out, and it works to an extent but if they do not have permission to view all of the layers, the warning Error The layer, LAYER NAME, cannot be added to the map appears. Is there a way we can get around this to prevent the warning appearing, or is best practice to create separate web maps for every group with a different view? It is also worth noting that we are sharing the webmaps on a Hub page as the primary way of users accessing the layers. We are also providing access to some of the webmaps through Explorer and Collector.

We are using ArcGIS Hub Premium to manage various community projects. To give certain community users access to relevant content, we have been creating groups which contain the content. Logging in to ArcGIS Online with an organisational account that has permission to manage whichever group, I am only able to invite community users by specifying their exact community user username in the search box (using the Invite Users button). Is there a way to select from the larger list of community users / do a bulk selection rather than manually looking up and entering each individual username one by one? Secondly, when a community user is invited to a group, it does not show those pending in the Members tab so that we can see who is still to accept their group invite. Is there a way of viewing this, or something we need to suggest as an enhancement request? Many thanks, Rob

The map card in ArcGIS Hub (I'm using Premium) allows the addition of web maps to a hub site page, but does not currently support layer control. It would be very useful for this to be an option that could be enabled/disabled by the admin, as is currently the case for the map legend.

Hi, In our case it turned out to be that the custom CSS parameters added to the iFrame was making it so that the map display was bigger than the mobile could handle. Try changing your CSS/HTML to give a smaller frame size. This resolved the issue for us. Rob

Currently in Survey123 it is possible to use the pulldata function to populate a geopoint question with the point location without user input. It would be very useful to be able to use a simple mechanism to set the center (and potentially extent) of the map (for geopoint, geotrace and geoshape questions) so that the user does not have to navigate to the correct location before adding the relevant point/line/polygon. As a use case and example, we have survey forms designed for volunteers carrying out wildlife surveys. As part of the form structure, they select the survey site which they have surveyed from a predefined select_one list. Hidden questions then pull in the site centroid coordinates from an external csv, which is currently used to display a geopoint map as a visual sense check they have selected the correct site name. Users then go on to add species observations using geopoint questions in a repeat. When they click on the geopoint question, it defaults to the default location set in Connect. It would be far preferable to be able to set it to default to the selected site centroid based on the site selection they made earlier in the form, but without registering the centroid as an actual point (or part of a line or polygon). Obviously this is more critical for desktop operations, where the user is not in the field (whereby they would usually rely on their device's gps location).

Has there been any update on this. I.e. is there now a way to center a geotrace or geoshape question map based on the coordinates from a previous question? My use case is that the user selects a survey site, from which a pulldata function gets the lat and long. I would then like the geotrace (or geoshape) map to center on those coordinates pulled in from the previous step. Many thanks, Rob

Hi James, - Some users may need to change Species on subsequent edits (e.g. after reviewing photos to verify species identification). Therefore I think as you (and Michael below) suggest, I will change the form design so that these fields are stored in the feature service. - Unfortunately the link you have shared is not working for me but it looks like the relevant content is covered here. I can see how that could be useful for any fields that are not required during editing. Many thanks, Rob

Hi James, Thanks for the reply. I will log a case as suggested. I believe it may be associated to certain browser versions, but I have recently had the same issue reported from a public user on Android 10.
