Hi Matthew, You can now just have your users type their address into the map search box that has been set to use your organization's custom geocoder by selecting it from the drop down. This screenshot shows the default ArcGIS World Geocoding Service: This will only store the geopoint geometry in your feature layer (no address info). If you also want to store the address information in fields within your survey you can follow the same process but also include reverse geocoding of the point to populate address information into the specific fields you’ve configured in your survey. See the ‘Reverse Geocode’ sample available in Survey123 Connect. Hope this helps, Brett

Hello Parks, You can simply continue to add image questions to your XLSForm in Connect and re-publish. Since you have attachments enabled in your feature layer, this can include multiple attachments. Adding a repeat around a single image question is actually trying to add a related feature (with the name corresponding to your repeat) to your existing feature layer. Since your existing feature layer does not contain any related features you are presented with the error message. You will need to set up this relationship in order to get this working. This is most easily achieved in desktop by adding the relationship class and re-publishing your feature layer. Re-creating the survey based on your updated feature layer in Connect will read this related feature as a repeat and add this to your survey form accordingly. Just make sure that attachments are also enabled on the related feature layer. Hope this helps, Brett

Hello Thant Zaw Oo, You can achieve this by putting your geopoint questions within a repeat. Then just use the sum() function in your geoshape question in the calculate column to build the polygon from the points in your repeat. I suggest joining the Early Adopter Community (if you haven't already) where you can find more detailed explanations on this beta functionality. Here is an example of setting up your XLSForm: Hope this helps, Brett

Hi Deon, Thanks for providing all of the details for your setup. I am wondering if this is just a timing issue... At first I was able to seemingly reproduce your issue on my device (Samsung S10) while stationary. As the position bounces around I am getting momentary speed and direction readings from my internal GNSS receiver. If I don't quite coincide this when the pulldata function is triggered (either on form load or when you manually tap the GPS icon in the map widget), then I don't get the direction information into my survey. I have to ask- are you triggering the pulldata function whilst actually in motion? I found that even at walking pace, my device is constantly providing a speed / direction which is consistently being pulled correctly into my survey. Are you noticing consistent direction readings in the Location Status page, or are they momentary? Another explanation, although very unlikely, would be due to the way we handle network positions in Android devices. GPS positions are updated every second and network positions every 20 seconds. Network positions are stationary and don't have a speed or direction so if you pulled the data from @geopoint at that moment you'll never get a speed or direction value. We have a fix for this scenario in place that is currently being tested and will be in the next release of Survey123, but as I mentioned it's very doubtful to be causing your issue. Brett

Hi Deon, Can you please confirm what version of the field app you are using? Also the device and operating system? Are you using an external GNSS receiver or just the internal receiver of your device? Your syntax is correct for the pulldata () function (assuming your geopoint question is named 'location'), so I'm just trying to get more information to reproduce the behaviour. Please let me know and I'll try to troubleshoot further. Thanks, Brett

Hi Lorence, One thing to check is that your new 'July 2019' thumbnail image isn't using uppercase letters in the file extension. Currently, only lowercase (eg .png or .jpg) file extensions are supported. Please confirm and let me know. Thanks, Brett

Hi Lauren, You're right - the data is stored as the 'name' in the database. The 'name' / 'label' pair in your Survey123 choice list is converted into a coded domain when you publish to ArgGIS Online which is then used when viewing your data through the website. You can prove this to yourself by opening the Service URL of your layer and then Query the REST service: My example is using: and the Query result is: Hope this helps, Brett

Hi David, By default, your surveys already capture this information. The ArcGIS Online hosted feature layers published by Survey123 contain Creator and Editor fields (as well as CreationDate and EditDate). These fields store usernames from the ESRI logins, assuming your surveys aren't public and a login is required to access them in the first place. Examine the Data tab of your feature layers through the Survey123 (or ArcGIS Online) website. You will need to click on the table settings to expose these extra columns. If you specifically need to store the email addresses for your logged in users this can also be done easily when creating your survey. Simply use the email question type in your survey when publishing from Survey123 Connect. This adds a hidden field that stores the email address linked to the ESRI login used to complete the survey. Please note that adding an email question to your survey from the Web Designer has a different outcome. This requires the person completing the survey to type in their email address into a text field, it just forces them to enter an address in the right format (eg something@domain.com). Hope this helps, Brett

Hi Matt, We now understand the root cause of this issue and have a workaround for you to implement. Essentially you just need to enable the 'Uploads' Capability on the Feature Layer View. Please refer to the information below and let me know if this fixes your problem. We intend adding a Known Limitation note to our Documentation to explain this situation. Thanks, Brett Known Limitation: For Surveys published from the Web Designer to Portal 10.6, submitting a survey with an attachment (eg image) will give the following error: This is because the 'Uploads' Capability is not being correctly added to the Feature Layer View when the survey is published. *Note this Limitation does not affect Portal 10.6.1 or any other versions (10.6 only), and only when publishing from the Web Designer (not from Survey123 Connect). Workaround: Need to manually enable the 'Uploads' capability on the Feature Layer View. This can be done using the 'Update Definition' operation on the ArcGIS REST Admin API: 1) Log into Portal using an Admin account and navigate to the Feature Layer (Hosted View) - this was automatically generated when you created your survey via the Web Designer. 2) Click the View URL button for the Feature Layer View (bottom right of page): 3) Add /admin/ to the URL to access the ArcGIS REST Admin operations, eg: https://machine.domain.com/webadapter/rest/admin/services/Hosted/survey123_4e9085065b374452be83ef4342f22a6e_fieldworker/FeatureServer/... Click the 'Update Definition' option that has appeared as a Supported Operation at the bottom of the page: 4) Copy and paste the following into the Input dialogue and click 'updateDefinition': {"capabilities": "Create,Editing,Query,Update,Uploads,Delete,Extract"} You will see {"success" : true} when the Capability has been successfully updated. 5) You have now added the ‘Uploads’ Capability to the Feature Layer View, surveys with attachments can now be successfully submitted.

Hi Maaza, What happens if you type arcgis-survey123:// into chrome (without your itemID)? This should prompt you to launch the field app. It sounds like the registry key that launches the field app (from the arcgis-survey123:// URL) is either corrupted of missing. Open Regedit from the command line and have a look to see if this folder exists: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\arcgis-survey123. It should have an entry that specifies the path for the Survey123forArcGIS.exe: If the entry doesn't exist, you may need to delete the arcgis-survey123 folder and re-install the field app. The correct registry entries will be recreated when you install. Depending on your work environment, registry access may be disabled by a group policy. This means that the registry entries can't be created when you install. You won't get any warnings of this during the installation so you'll have to refresh the registry view and check again yourself to confirm. Hope this helps, Brett

Hi Maneesh, I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you looking to calculate the percentage of choices that are selected from a select_multiple question? If so, you can use the count-selected() function to count the number of choices from your list that have been selected. This can then just be divided by the number of possible choices in your list (which is 5 in the following example) and converted to percentage. The count question can be hidden if you like, for example: Hope this helps, Brett

Hi again Guilherme, Up until recently, the Survey123 Feature Report functionality has only been accessible via the Survey123 website. Behind the scenes, there is an API that manages this functionality, which can now be used for other applications. We are inviting our Early Adopter Community (EAC) to try out the API and provide feedback. The API consists of the following functions, available at https://survey123.arcgis.com/api/featureReport: createSampleTemplate checkTemplateSyntax createReport/submitJob jobs/ queryJobs More details can be found on our EAC website, please join (if you haven't already) and give it a go. We're keen to hear your feedback. Brett

Hi Andrew, While using the 'pages' style in the 'settings' tab of your survey, a new page will be created when the 'field-list' appearance is added to groups or repeats. All other questions (that aren't within a group or repeat tagged with the 'field-list' appearance), will be visible on every page of your survey. It sounds like you may be trying to have a new page for each repeat record? This is not currently possible, but I can open a request enhancement if you provide more details of your use case and exactly what you're trying to achieve. We have an open issue for the blank page behaviour you are experiencing. I've added your post/comments to the issue. Regards, Brett
