It's the same number of clicks. Click on layer you want to symbolize, click on Feature Layer tab, click on Symbology. In ArcMap it was right-click on layer, click on Properties, click on Symbology tab. To get there even faster, double-click on the symbol swatch; it brings you right to the symbology properties tab. If you leave the tab open, it's always available for whichever layer you have highlighted. Pro's interface isn't more complicated, it's just different than what we're used to. We're training a fresh grad who mostly knows Pro. We still need ArcMap for some things, and he had quite a learning curve to figure out where everything was.

The error messages for Attribute Rules are very vague in Field Maps. This causes trouble in two areas. First, in developing and testing Attribute Rules, if there is one that isn't playing nicely with Field Maps, the error "Arcade expression is invalid." displays. This doesn't tell me which attribute rule is invalid. If there's no obvious candidate, the only way to suss it out is by stopping the feature service, turning off one attribute rule, restarting the service, and republishing. If there are more than two attribute rules, this gets very tedious very quickly. Even more frustratingly, this error does not show up in the logs or anywhere else. Listing the attribute rule name or even the code would drastically speed up troubleshooting. The second place this causes trouble is with editors in the field. If a constraint rule is violated, the end user doesn't get any feedback about what they need to correct to successfully submit their edit. In this case, the popup should return the custom error message that was set up with the attribute rule.

@TonyContreras_Frisco_TX You know, I forgot to file a bug report. Esri didn't quite lay the blame, but did say it wasn't supported. I just went to file a bug report and saw there is one from 4 days ago (perhaps by you?). I added some comments to that one. I'll also reach out to the tech support rep who was helping me and update him with my findings and that bug report.

In addition to the above reasons, it would be really helpful for ensuring the profiles stick following app upgrades. Every time we move to a new version of Field Maps, I need to re-configure the profiles. This isn't so bad for just me, but it does make it a bit more challenging for a more widespread deployment.

@JohannesLindner I wanted to update this post to reflect the newer, better option. With the Arcade Popup Element available in Enterprise 11+ and AGOL, I can now write one bit of code that will build a list of links flexibly and add as many or as few as there are intersecting: var plans = Intersects($feature, FeatureSetByName($map,"Plan Area",['PlanName','Hyperlink','InstallDate']));
var sortedPlans = OrderBy(plans,"'InstallDate' Desc");
var planList = `<div style = "background:lightgray"><h3>Plan Links</h3>`;
for(var p in sortedPlans){
if (IsEmpty(p.PlanName) || IsEmpty(p.Hyperlink)){
planList += ``
}
else{
planList += `<p><b><a href = "${p.Hyperlink}" style ="color:blue">${p.PlanName}</a></b></p>`;
}
}
planList += `</div>`
return {
type : 'text',
text : planList//this property supports html tags
} In addition to being more flexible, it's a lot cleaner and makes it easy to do some basic HTML formatting so it looks just how you want it. Here's the output:

This would be really useful to us. We have a bit of code that gets hyperlinks for as-builts from intersecting areas. Right now, we need to apply this code individually to each layer where we want to see those links. If I need to make a change, I need to change that in every layer to make sure things work properly.

This would would be extremely useful to me. The other option I'd considered is the "button" tag, but this solution seems more flexible.

I know this is an old post, but I wanted to share what worked for me. What needs to happen is you need to import the root and intermediate certs from the certifying authority to let Portal know that certs issued by that authority are OK. The org wildcard cert was not a root cert in our case. For example, our org uses GoDaddy, so I searched online for "GoDaddy root certificates" and found GoDaddy has a page to download these from. I added them to the server and portal, restarted both, and was able to complete my workflow (federation, in this case). @SushilPradhan2 @RaymondBoswell1

Thank you, I've done that. I hadn't noticed the Percentile option. That's a nice touch! I really like the level of customizability that you all have worked into the new version. I just need to learn how best to use all the new features.

I could have sworn I tried this before, but I'm finding it works properly if I try authenticating as "user@domain" but not if i use r"domain\user".

I see that for both arcsoc.exe and postgres.exe, probably 3-4 times a day for each. Not a huge deal right now, but I would love to be able to have alerting and notifications on those processes without getting my inbox flooded with spurious results!

Looking at that code block some more, I realized that just because the exception returned by the try/except block says "Please ensure gssapi is installed") doesn't mean that the problem is with importing gssapi. It turns out, that's not the issue. Looking at the error messages again, I realized I was overlooking the core error, which happens a few lines after importing gssapi and generates the error message in @BerendVeldkamp 's original post: gssapi.raw.exceptions.BadNameError: Major (131072): An invalid name was supplied, Minor (2529639136): Configuration file does not specify default realm This is a gssapi error, so the "Please ensure gssapi is installed" is a red herring. To me, this supports Esri having made an error in the code somewhere. I'll definitely be filing a bug report.

@SeanO_Neill Ultimately, Esri tech support determined it was out of scope. I don't fully agree, but I've got to go with that. I'm considering logging a bug on the github page. The bit of code that handles the Windows authentication has definitely changed. Just for kicks, I followed the error chain to _winauth.py in C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\bin\Python\envs\arcgispro-py3\Lib\site-packages\arcgis\auth\_auth. The error is happening in the EsriWindowsAuth class. I compared the code in this class for the 3.1 install and a machine that's still on 3.0.3, and this class has changed substantially. There's no attempt to import a package called gssapi in the older one. If I were braver, I'd try swapping the old code in to the new _winauth.py file, but I don't feel like voiding my warranty. Interestingly, gssapi is included in the new site packages and I can import it from the Python script window. I still get the import error, though.

That's interesting. Here is the overall CPU utilization for that host at the same time as a high reading from this morning. At that same time, the ArcSOCs for our #1 and 2 heaviest use services are at 150% and 25% cpu, respectively.

As I'm getting used to the new Monitor software, I'm noticing I'll get errors periodically for CPU Utilization exceeding 100%. Unless I'm missing something, that doesn't seem right and makes me question some of the other metrics. Looking at Monitor 10.8.1, I don't see any corresponding CPU usage spikes for the affected machine, whether I look at ArcSOCs or the system as a whole. I mostly see this related to PostGres and ArcSOC processes. Is there something I can tweak in the settings, or is this a bug? I'm using the 2023.1 release.
