This is really problematic, as we rely very heavily on versioning for data integrity. I understand it doesn't work with traditional versioning, but will it work with the new Branch Versioning model?

I want to take advantage of the new user types that were introduced in 10.7 (Editor, Field Worker, GIS Professional, etc), but the only options I have in my Portal are Creator and Viewer. Same thing when I look at the licensing options on My Esri. Is there something special I have to do to make these available?

Thanks for the response, and that's good to know. I was actually asking about what, if anything, changed about licensing for Monitor betwee 10.7.1 and 10.8. What I'm wondering is if now all I have to do is peel off a license for a Monitor install, or if there are additional authorizations I need based on the number of cores I'm going to monitor. I'm concerned about getting a server set up only to find I don't have the proper authorizations I need to get it up and running.

I see I have licenses available for 10.8 equal to the number of server licenses, but none for 10.7.1. Did the licensing model change?

If one needed to restore from these backups, how would you do it? I ran into a snag upgrading the dev server and can roll back to a snapshot, but I'm curious how this process would work.

I know this was almost a year ago, but could you expand on how you resolved this? I'm running in to the same issue at 10.7.1 using a domain account that should have the same privileges on both machines.

This functionality is the one key missing feature we need here. Our field managers use the dashboards frequently to get information on the current state of affairs, and to report metrics. The ability to generate a tabular report would speed this up, and exporting to CSV would help them transfer that data to their working documents. The tabular report part seems like you could simply display the bar graph as a table instead of a chart.

I'm having some trouble with updating layers using the ArcGIS API for Python. I had updated a map image layer with some new sublayers, and wanted to make sure the new layers were applied everywhere the original MIL is used. I wrote a notebook to find and remove the instances of this MIL and re-add to the map. This worked for most of the maps, but enough didn't that I ended up having to check them all manually. I'll step through my code below if anyone can tell me if I'm missing something. First, I listed all the web maps owned by our admin user and created an Item object for the MIL: maps = portal.content.search("type: Web Map NOT Application owner: GeoNexusAdmin@PENNICHUCK", max_items = 100)
newLayer = portal.content.search('id:b8c15eb2b33b4c0bbb7dfa0011cb28be')[0] Next, I iterated through the maps and looked for the MIL in question. If it was found, I removed and replaced the layer: for m in maps:
map = arcgis.mapping.WebMap(m)
#loop through layers in each map
layers = map.layers
for l in layers:
#store layer index number
layerNum = map.layers.index(l)
#if a matching itemid is found, remove layer and add it back in
if 'itemId' in layers[layerNum]:
if layers[layerNum]['itemId'] =='b8c15eb2b33b4c0bbb7dfa0011cb28be':
map.remove_layer(map.layers[layerNum])
map.add_layer(newLayer)
#print map title to confirm
print(m.title) Almost every map that was printed in the output list updated the MIL succesfully, but about 3 did not. Is this a glitch in the system, or do I need to make some tweaks to my code? At the very least, it would be nice to be able to identify and list the maps that did not update successfully.

Mark: I saw the documentation on sideloading. The problem is that we manage our devices with a mobile device manager, and don't have the ability to push files to devices in the manner specified. What we can do is use a cloud storage service like Dropbox, so it would be convenient if Explorer could recognize MMPKs that appear in the Dropbox folder. Jay

Novice question here, just getting started with ArcGIS API for Python. I'm trying to write a script to remove and re-add all non-admin users from my Portal to address issues from this bug. We add our Portal members using the "based on existing enterprise users" option. My assumption had been that I would specify the "enterprise" as the provider. However, while investigating the properties of our users to make sure I have the script correct, I noticed that all of our members have "None" for provider (see below). "None" is not one of the provider options in the documentation. What is the correct way to specify existing enterprise users when adding new members, and not the enterprise logins via SAML?

Is there any plan to enable recognition of MMPKs in the device's file system? I need a way to push maps to a device so that even if the user hasn't opened Explorer in years, they will still see the latest version of the offline map. Our goal is a backup map that can be opened in case of emergency, systems down situations.

The version created since then reconciles and posts correctly. I'm waiting for the backup to check to see if they had been in default previously. There were never any error messages with reconcile/post operations.

We have a straightforward versioning system, with just one child version off of default at the moment. We reconcile and post edits regularly (every other day at the least frequent), and compress, index, and analyze the database nightly. We had to delete the child version yesterday for some other database maintenance, and all of the edits performed in that version from the last three weeks were gone. We're pulling a copy of the backup so we can recover the edits, but I'm wondering what would cause this in the first place. My recollection is that the edits had been showing up in default; hopefully the backup doesn't prove me wrong...
