@DavidLeitson - Hello there! My name is Anthony and I am a product engineer on the ArcGIS for Power BI visual. I was looking over this issue and I would like to help out if I can! Would it be possible to make this a public layer? I would like to test this out on my end and see what results I get. Also, if possible, could you post some screenshots of what you are seeing? Depending on the layer, it might not be supported in ArcGIS for Power BI. However, most layers are supported in the visual.

@EricTanderson - Hello there! My name is Anthony and I am a product engineer on the ArcGIS for Power BI visual. I was looking over this issue and I would like to help out if I can! This is somewhat of an environment issue that we are currently looking into. This also occurs with other visuals in Power BI. In short, there are updates being sent between the visuals on the report page. In this case, a request is being made to slice the data. Within a small amount of time, there is an instance where the data is being repopulated and calculated to create the sliced results; data is cleared, selected, and then the results are populated. Because of this, our visual responds to the "first" action which is to de-select the information. This is why you end up with the selections disappearing. I have bookmarked this topic as it is in our backlog of fixes. Once we start to look at this, I will let you know if it is possible for us to fix in our visual, or if it is a larger issue within the Power BI ecosystem. Please let me know if you have any other questions!

@lEoN - Hello there! My name is Anthony and I am a product engineer on the ArcGIS for Power BI visual. I was looking over this issue and I would like to help out if I can! There are some unique workflows within the Power BI environment that our visual has to navigate around. Because of them, signing in can be a bit tricky if your token expires or if the login needs to be refreshed. Further, because of some technical limitations, logging into the visual is done prior to adding data. However, there is a workaround that doesn't require you to delete and lose all of your work! Take a look at the steps below and let me know if this helps. 1. Open your Power BI Report. Double-check to make sure you aren't logged in. 2. At the bottom of the report page, click on the + icon to add a new page. 3. On the new, blank page, add our visual. 4. Click on the appropriate sign-in you'd like to use (ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise) and sign in with your credentials 5. Tab back to the original page where you checked to see if you were logged in. The map should now pick up the credentials from the blank page and sign you in. 6. You can delete or remove the new page you created.

@JoseSanchez - Hi there! Currently, the ArcGIS for Power BI visual supports EsriJSON and can be added to the Location field well. There are a number of other formats that can be added to the map as well. Reference: Add data to the map—ArcGIS for Power BI | Documentation As for downloading and installing our visual, all you will need is the latest version of Power BI Desktop. Once that is installed, our visual will appear in the Visualizations pane. You can also access or create a report in Power BI Online (https://app.powerbi.com). Once you have added the visual, you can sign into ArcGIS Online and view reference layers from your account. @Marc_ - Hello there! My name is Anthony and I am a product engineer on the ArcGIS for Power BI visual. I was looking over this issue and I would like to help out if I can! Thank you for providing some sample data to reproduce this issue. As I looked over the workflow, it appears that this specific workflow is not yet supported in our visual. Currently, filtering in our map can only be done on the same page as the visual. This is highly requested action in our visual. In Power BI, it is common to slice and filter data across all pages of a report and so our visual should respond the same way! This would be a good addition to our ideas page so we can review it with out group and plan it out. If you have other ideas of what you'd like to see added, feel free to post them here: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-for-power-bi-ideas/idb-p/arcgis-for-power-bi-ideas

@JoseSanchez - Hey there Jose! I would recommend updating your Power BI Desktop version to the latest: Version: 2.103.881.0 64-bit (March 2022). This can be done through the Microsoft Store or work with your IT group if they are the ones who push out updates. It is recommended to have the latest Power BI Desktop version installed as there are software changes that occur in each version. Once that has been updated, you should see our visual in the pane: Let me know if that works!

ArcGIS for Power BI is updated regularly to provide new features, improved speed and usability, and bug fixes. The 2022.2 update is a quality release. Performance improvements and bug fixes have been made for the following features. This release will start deploying between April 20th, 2022, and April 21st, 2022. It may take up to 48 hours to push out to all regions (up to two weeks for government-level sites). If you do not see the changes, you may need to close out and restart Power BI Desktop or restart your browser if you are using Power BI Online. As always, please let us know of any improvements or issues you want to chat about! --- Reference layers In my last release post, I mentioned an overall design change that is taking place within ArcGIS for Power BI. These design changes and workflows are part of a larger effort to make a seamless experience across all ArcGIS for Microsoft 365 visuals. In the v2022.2 release, we have enhanced the Reference layer widget to give you more control over what you can search for, how it appears in the search results, and where you can search. Previously, when a search was made in ArcGIS Online (whether it be public or through your own organization) layers were not ordered and you couldn’t filter based on a specific layer type. In v2022.2, you can now: Sort layers based on relevance, title, owner, etc. Search for specific layer types Search within the current area of the map Open the layer to see its details Add layers you find to your favorites As a note, some of these items might only apply when you are signed in with an ArcGIS account. v2022.1.98 v2022.2.105 Infographics The Infographics feature has also been updated and refined. As a Standard user, you still have access to the same settings as in the current version, radius and drive time. However, as an ArcGIS user, you now have access to multiple sample areas such as Rural Driving Time and many others. Take a look below! Geo-search and pins v2022.2 brings in the same geo-search feature that is used in ArcGIS for SharePoint and ArcGIS for Office. As a note, we have removed the ability to style the pin. The reason for this is because the pin was never persisted on the map and is used as a quick way to search for a location on your map (for both creators and viewers). You can still toggle this feature on and off if you’d like to have it sent out to your report viewers. Further, you now can use your current location (Power BI Online only) and choose your own locator if you have one configured. v2022.1.98 v2022.2.105 Sign in issues In the current version, there were reports of the sign in button not working properly. We have resolved this issue in v2022.2.105. The root cause of this issue stemmed from the previous infrastructure update through Power BI Desktop as well as some other odd behavior with tokens expiring. Now, if a token has expired, or if you are logged out, clicking the sign in button will allow you to sign in and refresh your login. Hiding additional information in tooltips This update is the start of a larger process for more control over tooltips on the map. In the previous update, we hid EsriJSON data from the tooltip unless it was placed in the Tooltips field-well. In this update, we have removed the row_id field from the tooltip. This was causing some unwanted behavior and we feel that this is better left out of the tooltip. v2022.1.98 v2022.2.105 Bug fixes and polishes galore! In this release, we have squashed a ton of bugs and polished a great deal of the visual. Here is a small subset of the items we tackled between our last release and this one. We still have plenty more to accomplish and clean up, but 2022 is shaping up to be a great year so far! Bug fixes: Certain layers would not zoom to its full extent In some instances, selecting locations on the map after adding an infographic card would cause the map to freeze Fixed an issue where color ramps would break after un-classifying data and classifying it again Fixed an issue where filters were not honored from web maps created in ArcGIS Enterprise Fixed an issue where tooltips would not open from Power BI Desktop Fixed an issue where the reference layer search would default to feature services only Design polishes: Cleaned up hyperlinks to reflect the native Power BI environment Fixed an issue with the profile icon for Standard users Removed rounded corners to be more consistent with the native Power BI environment Cleaned up and reordered buttons for the Find Similar feature The goal of these fixes and UI/UX polishes is to make it easier to navigate and create meaningful maps for your report. As we continue to move toward the unified experience across all ArcGIS for Microsoft 365 visuals, we would love to hear your feedback, whether it be an idea or if something is broken. Having open communication about the visual and how we can improve will keep us moving forward and paving the way for GIS in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

@shivambhatele - Hello there! That is correct. Power BI Desktop currently cannot run on macOS. However, you can still use the Power BI Online service in any browser. While it might not be the full suite of tools, you can get started in Power BI through the online service. https://app.powerbi.com/ Let me know if this helps!

@KaySunset - Hello there! My name is Anthony and I am a product engineer on the ArcGIS for Power BI visual. I was looking over this issue and I would like to help out if I can! This is an interesting one! I am going to investigate this issue and report back. In the meantime, is it possible to share your PBIX file or at least some clean data (if there are privacy concerns) so that I can test the workflow in my environment? If this is a bug, I can get it into a project with our group and discuss a fix for it. But for now, I will investigate it first and troubleshoot the behavior. Looking forward to resolving this!

@MarkFleet - Hello there! My name is Anthony and I am a product engineer on the ArcGIS for Power BI visual. I was looking over this issue and I would like to help out if I can! This particular option and settings are disabled by design. As an example, using both size and color is a good way to show count information (size) shaded by a rate (color). Another example using both size and color can be: The Color and Size style is also useful for mapping a single attribute in the data using different colors and proportional symbol pairs to show values that are above and below a key value—for example, where childhood obesity rates are above and below the national average. Reference: Style numbers (Map Viewer)—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation However, you can style the data using Color and Size somewhat differently depending on what value you drop in the field well first. Here is an example of a numeric value being added to the size field-well first and then color. In this instance, I have classified the size value into different groups or buckets, while the color ramp is continuous. Here is an example of a numeric value being added to the color field-well first and then size. Let me know if this helps!

@LiamCurrie - Good afternoon! There can be some odd interactions with the Power BI Data layer and a reference layer on the map (whether it be through a Join layer process or just adding it on the map and interacting with it). There have been other instances where pop-ups can be distracting on a report page. At the moment, we cannot disable the pop-ups on a Power BI data layer. However, we are looking into this feature and exploring ways to enhance it; customization or allowing it to be turned off completely. If you have other ideas of what you'd like to see added, feel free to post them here: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-for-power-bi-ideas/idb-p/arcgis-for-power-bi-ideas

@SusannaSaari - Hello there! My name is Anthony and I am a product engineer on the ArcGIS for Power BI visual. I was looking over this issue and I would like to help out if I can! There have been reports of some sign-in issues within the visual both in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Online. We have identified and fixed an issue related to expired/cached tokens within the visual. This fix will be pushed out with our April 2022 release of ArcGIS for Power BI. However, as a quick test (and hopefully fix), we can clear the cache of your Power BI Desktop application to clear out any and all old tokens that are persisted. Give the following steps a try and let me know if this helps! As a general note, you might have all or only a few of the folders listed below. Please check both locations and remove all folders listed in these steps. On your local system, depending on how you installed Power BI, browse to one of the following folder locations: .exe version— %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop (for example, <user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop) Microsoft Store version— C:\Users\<user>\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop Store App Delete the folder named CEF. Delete the folder named WebView2 Delete the folder named Cache. Restart the machine.

Hello there! My name is Anthony and I am a product engineer on the ArcGIS for Power BI visual. I was looking over this issue and I would like to help out if I can! Is it possible to share the PBIX file here (or through email) so I can take a look at the underlying data? There is a potential chance that you might just need to remove the temporal data from the time field well and then add it again. For context, there was an overhaul to our visual in September 2021 and some older reports might need to be reopened and saved again to see the changes. Looking forward to helping out!
