Hi there @DavidLeitson . I had a look at this issue and I see what the issue is.  By default, we take the top ten categories to classify data when using string values. As I look over this sample data, there are over 15,000 rows/counts in this dataset.  This was causing Power BI Desktop and Power BI Online to freeze and ultimately lock up. This was because Power BI was attempting to process the data. In this case, we are reaching the upper-limits of Power BI Desktop when using this amount of data. If I had to guess, the data is appearing as grey because the values are in the "others" categories.  I messaged in the other thread about chatting on a call. @AlessioBrusamolino -  Thank you for sending me this information. It looks as though this is a bug in our visual. I have used the data you sent and you are correct! The values in the Table of Contents do not update when features are filtered. I have logged a bug in our project and I will reply to this thread once I know this has been resolved. Ah! It sounds like you are looking to create a join between the Power BI data and your reference layer correct? If so, you should be able to drag those fields into the Join layer field well and make a join between them. Good afternoon all! I was looking over a few of these comments related to the Join layer feature. Currently, to use this feature, the Join layer widget must remain open while making selections. The reason for this is because of some unique infrastructure/environment variables that are currently preventing us from accessing and selecting these items directly. For example, if you have a Power BI Data layer on the map (e.g., addresses), the selection tools will only interact with the Power BI Data layer when selecting them.  We are currently enhancing this feature and working on some BUGs that were reported, however, there is always room for improvement in general.  I would encourage to post in our Ideas page to enhance this feature. @DiegoLlamasOlivares - Hello there! My name is Anthony and I am a product engineer on the ArcGIS for Power BI visual. I was looking over this issue and I would like to help out if I can! This particular workflow is related to Power BI Desktop itself and not ArcGIS for Power BI (which is our mapping visualization in Power BI). Connecting to ArcGIS Enterprise within ArcGIS for Power BI is independent of connecting to data sources in Power BI Desktop. For example, if you were to add X and Y data to the map, you could then add a reference layer from your organization and display/interact with it on the map. However, connecting to raw data sitting in ArcGIS Enterprise may not work because of access tokens, connectivity, and other issues (some of which you are encountering here).  You might need to work with your ArcGIS Enterprise administrator to allow access from external sources such as Power BI Desktop.
