ArcGIS for Power BI is updated regularly to provide new features, improved speed and usability, and bug fixes. The 2022.1 update is a quality release. Performance improvements and bug fixes have been made for the following features. This release will start deploying on February 9th, 2022. It may take up to 48 hours to push out to all regions (up to two weeks for government-level sites). If you do not see the changes, you may need to close out and restart Power BI Desktop or restart your browser if you are using Power BI Online. As always, please let us know of any improvements or issues you want to chat about! --- Symbology and filtering Symbology reverting to default colors after filtering has been resolved. Previously, when a map visual was styled using a numeric value or a string value, using a filter would cause the map to revert to its default colors. This was true even when using custom symbols or custom colors on the map. Take a look at the animation below to see the changes! Power BI Desktop infrastructure update In Power BI Desktop, a preview feature was enabled that caused ArcGIS for Power BI to experience some issues when adding data to the location field well, signing in, and other various anomalies. This issue has now been resolved and the Power BI Desktop infrastructure update can be left on. EsriJSON hidden from tooltips When adding EsriJSON (shape, geometry) to the location field well, there were some unexpected results appearing in a feature's tooltip. Now, when adding this type of data to the location field well, it will be hidden by default. If the data is added to the tooltips field well, then it will be displayed in the tooltip. Take a look at the before and after in this release. Version 2021.2.95 Version 2022.1.98 Data added to the location field well Data added to the location field well and tooltips Generalization levels updated When adding boundaries to the map, such as zip codes or census tracts, the shapes on the map were not exact and appeared more as blobs than exact lines drawn on the map. Take a look at the difference between the current version, and the new version. Version 2021.2.95 Version 2022.1.98 Basemap gallery update In v2022.1, we made a UI change to the Basemap gallery widget. This is part of an overall design change that will be slowly rolling out throughout the first half of the year. Be on the lookout for additional changes taking place within ArcGIS for Power BI as we move toward unifying our look and feel alongside ArcGIS for Office and ArcGIS for SharePoint. @ismaeloltra - Hello there! My name is Anthony and I am a product engineer on the ArcGIS for Power BI visual. I was looking over this issue and I would like to help out if I can! This is actually by design. Drive time features and functionality are only available to the report author/designer. As a viewer, you will only be able to see the layer that was created by the report designer. Please let me know if this helps!

@davidmarcus - Hello there! My name is Anthony and I am a product engineer on the ArcGIS for Power BI visual. This is an area that we have addressed in our upcoming release. There should be a noticeable difference with pop-ups and tooltips in this release (for the better!). Our release is scheduled for December 8th, 2021. In some cases, it might take 24-48 hours for it to roll out to everyone. You can confirm you have the newest version of our visual by hovering over the Esri icon in the lower-right hand corner of the map. It should read 2021.2.95. Please let me know if our latest update solves this issue for you!

@SteveReeves - Hey there Steve! My name is Anthony and I am a product engineer on the ArcGIS for Power BI visual. This issue should be resolved in our upcoming release. This release is scheduled to go live on December 8th 2021. As a note, it might take up to 24 hours for it to push through to all areas of Power BI. If the postcodes still do not render on the map, please reply to this thread and let me know. Lastly, could you provide your dataset here so I can do some testing on my end to verify that this is working properly?

@Rudolfde_Munnik - Hi there! Our newest release should be out and live within the next 48 hours. The live date is December 8th 2021, but it takes a bit to roll out to everyone who uses Power BI. The newest version of our visual is 2021.2.95. When you hover over the Esri logo in the map, you will be able to see that version number. Let me know what happens when you see the new version.

@Timothy_Negley - Hello there! My name is Anthony and I am a product engineer on the ArcGIS for Power BI visual. I had a look over this issue and it was identified as a BUG in v2021.1.91. We have fixed this issue and will be resolved in our upcoming release. Our next release is scheduled to deploy between November 26th - December 10th (there are some testing processes that occur between our team and Microsoft before it goes live). Once the next version is live, please let me know if it resolves the issue once it has been released.

@NeilHubbert - Hello there! My name is Anthony and I am a product engineer on the ArcGIS for Power BI visual. I was looking over this issue and I would like to help out if I can! This issue has come up from a few other areas and the solution below seems to resolve the problem. In short, there is a conflict with the cache / CEF folders between Power BI Desktop (store version) and Power BI Desktop (standalone or IT-installed versions). Try these steps and then let me know what happens! Clear the folders in the following locations: .exe version— %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop (for example, <user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop) Microsoft Store version— C:\Users\<user>\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop Store App Delete the folder named CEF. Delete the folder named Cache. Restart the machine.

@RezaSardari - I tried to look this up in our visual and I do not see it. As @Anonymous User mentioned, this might be because it is listed as a Feature Collection. If you try this on the Feature Service, does the Join layer appear?

Thank you for providing this information. I was able to reproduce the census tract issues and have logged it in our projects. I am not sure exactly on the timeline to resolve this issue, but, I will ensure our team is working on it. I have also notated poor rendering on these polygons as well. Please let me know if there is anything else you find!

@MarcusDavis - Hello there! My name is Anthony and I am a product engineer on the ArcGIS for Power BI visual. It seems like that this is related to the settings by your Office 365 administrator. There is an overall setting in the Office 365 tenant that controls whether or not ArcGIS for Power BI shows up in Power BI Desktop / Power BI Online. I would double-check with your Office 365 administrator to see if this option is disabled. Let me know what you find out!
