Hi all, I'm still getting a failed login every 5 mins. I decided to change the ArcGIS Server PSA account in Server Manager to a new user name and password. However I'm still getting log in attempts on the old PSA account username. By chance I tried to validate my datastores they all validated successfully in server manager returning green ticks. However when I checked my server logs I have 2 failed login attempts at the same time. The first is an attempt by the datastore to generate a token using the server machine name url on port 6443 not the webadaptor domain. The second is the standard login failure I'm getting. Jonathan Quinn could the issue be with the datastore trying to use the ArcGIS Server PSA account (I used this as the administrator account when I configured the datastore) Seems like everything was ok when the PSA account was enabled because the datastore could use the credentials to login ? Thanks, Clinton

Hi, I have a similar issue, I am getting a failed login attempt ever 5 mins using the Primary Site Account on Server 10.6.1 These failed login attempt seem to have started since we upgraded to from Enterprise 10.5 to 10.6.1 when I subsequently disabled the PSA account as per the security the recommendations. I've checked the IIS logs as suggested by Jonathan Quinn and can't see anything that corresponds to the time these requests are taking place making me think that they aren't external? I'm assuming that these requests are therefore an internal arcgis server process however I'm not sure how I track this down to resolve Did anyone @ Nicolas GIS manage resolve these failed login or workout where they are originating from? Thanks, Clinton

Hi all, I have an external facing Portal (10.6.1). I'm working through and configuring the ArcGIS Enterprise security recommendations. I'm wanting to get get some clarification on what I should be entering into the Portal Admin Directory for the allowedProxyHosts. From what I understand these should external domains that the portal can access content from? You have to add a new domain for every external server that you want to consume resources from. This protects your Portal from being used for Malicious attacks? So for the example highlighted "(.*).arcgis.com" if I added this to my allowdProxyHosts my Portal will be allowed to get resources from any machine with a domain ending in .arcgis.com? If I wanted to get resources from https://xyz.com I would add this as well ? Do the domains need prefaced with https:// ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Clinton

Hi all, I managed to get this resolved via a support call with ESRI. There were a number of possibilities to work through.

Hi all, I've resolved this issue. When I upgraded from 10.5 to 10.6.1 the API versions didn't get upgraded in the services directory. For 10.6 the api needs to be version 4.5 not 3.18. Javascript API URL : http://js.arcgis.com/4.5 Javascript API CSS URL : http://js.arcgis.com/4.5/esri/css/main.css Thanks, Clinton

Hi Drew, I've got a similar issue that you we're experiencing where I've orphaned Portal Items that point to and old webadaptor address. I can't delete them as them as the item details never loads as it is looking for a URL that no longer exists. If I use the rest to try and delete I get the message Item does not exist or is inaccessible. Can you let me know the work flow you used to remove these items?

Hi, I've recently upgraded from Enterprise 10.5 to 10.6.1. When I try and run the webgisdr the Portal backup is failing. The backup is failing because portal can’t export an item Export of the Portal repository failed. C:\arcgisportal\content\items\e5516d3106674d528b62b01621bce864 It is interesting that the 10.5 webgisdr backup ran without any issues suggesting that the orphaned items didn't exist ? If I search for the item e5516d3106674d528b62b01621bce864 in the contents folder on the Portal server no files are returned. However if I search in the Portal itself through I can find the item. If I click on the item to try an access the item details to delete it nothing is returned. I've tried going into the rest/sharing directory and into my content. I can see the items I want to list however when I select one to delete and internal server error 500 is returned. I've also tried re indexing the portal. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Clinton

Hi Jacob, My ArcGIS server now has internet access however the Javascript Preview is still blank. If I look in the developer console the following urls are returning 404 Not Found Code: NoSuchKey Message: The specified key does not exist. https://js.arcgis.com/3.18/esri/Map.js https://js.arcgis.com/3.18/esri/views/MapView.js https://js.arcgis.com/3.18/esri/widgets/Home.js I've tried hitting the URL's from my local machine same 404 errors are returned. Interestingly if I change the version from say 3.18 to 4.0 I get a response. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Clinton

Hi, I can no longer validate my federated ArcGIS Servers in Portal 10.5. When I do this I get red exclamation marks. I'm trying to track down the cause of the issue and have started looking at the datastore. I can publish map services from Pro however I don't seem to be able to publish hosted services. When I run the describe datastore utility the relational data store status is RecoveryFailed, while the tile cache datastore status is Started. I'm assuming that the relational datastore status should also be started. Any ideas on how I restart / repair the datastore ? Thanks, Clinton

Hi, I've just upgraded our enterprise from 10.5 to 10.6.1. When I go into the Server manager and try and view the service using ArcGIS Javascript API the window is blank. I can view the service ok through Portal. I found the following thread that suggest the service directory may be corrupt and have checked our configuration (refer to below). REST - ArcGIS Javascript Preview not Working after upgrade to 10.4.1 In the developer console I'm getting the following error indicating that these files cant be loaded. Our IT department have removed internet access for the ArcGIS Server. So I'm assuming that the Server needs internet access to render the previews via arcgis.com? Do I need to allow internet access and add a rule allow traffic to ESRI only *arcgis.com? Is there an option to use this offline? Thanks, Clinton

Hi, I'm currently upgrading an enterprise 10.5 deployment to 10.6.1. I've successfully upgraded the portal to 10.6.1. I'm currently trying to complete the ArcGIS server upgrade. I've managed to install the 10.6.1 software and authorize the licence file however I can't access the server manager to complete the upgrade. When I try to access the server manager I’m first of all taken to http://localhost:6080/arcgis/manager before being redirected to https://localhost:6443/arcgis/manager (as expected we have https only on ?) then to the portal admin directory with a 400 uri error. I found the following technical article https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000015445. Scenario 1 seems to address my problem. However I'm not sure what I need to do to include the ArcGIS Server on the portal white list. From the solution / work around in the article it looks like I only need to copy the Get App ?Info into the Update Info Section? When I look at the Get App Info there is no reference to the ArcGIS Server so do I need to add this to the JSON ? If so do I put https://localhost:6443 ? of do I need servername.internaldomain.com only or do I need to add the full path to the server manager (e.g. https://localhost:6443/arcgis/maanger https://severname.internaldomain.com:6443/arcgis/manager ) Do I need to turn off https only so that I can access server manager on 6080 ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Clinton

Hi, Thank you for the responses so far. I've had someone look at the firewall and I can now hit the following URL's https://gisserverdomain.com:6443/arcgis/admin and https://gisserverdomiain.com:6443/arcgis/manager (note trying to access this URL gets stuck on please wait icon) Unfortunately I can still not validate the servers. I did some further investigation and noticed that I can no longer access services through the server manager via the web adaptor. Everthing looks normal on the Server manager however when I go to view a service nothing is returned. I'm getting the following error in Chrome Dev tools I checked the server logs and I'm getting warnings regarding permissions and General geodatabase errors. This is odd as I have an admin account and should be able to access everything ? Any ideas ? Thanks, Clinton

Hi, I had a similar problem generating tokens with our 10.3.1 server and AGOL. When I tried to store credentials I would get an Error Generating Token. The problem in my case was a rule on the firewall that was blocking traffic. So perhaps get your IT department to check if there have been any changes to the firewall. Thanks, Clinton
