ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World provides foundation elevation layers and tools to support analysis and visualization across the ArcGIS system. These layers get updated quarterly with high resolution elevation data from federal agencies, open sources, and community maps program. Land cover describes the surface of the earth. This time-enabled service of the National Land Cover Database groups land cover into 20 classes. Classes include vegetation type, development density, and agricultural use. Areas of water, ice and snow and barren lands are also identified. The USA Storm Reports live feeds have been updated to include new severe weather reports, no including a total of 48 event types. Fifteen of these storm types have new, hand-drawn unique symbols that are colorblind safe and work on both light and dark basemaps. Wayback imagery is a digital archive of the World Imagery basemap with more than 120 different versions of imagery captured over the last 6+ years. World Imagery Wayback app lets you browse for changes in your area of interest and lets you make a map with versions of interest. Animate mode is a newly added capability that makes it easy to view selected imagery using playback animation, which can also be dowloaded as an animated GIF. When in animate mode, you can click the share button to save the animation, selected imagery, and geographic location with others. Block level state tabulations of population were released by the Census Bureau on August 12, 2021. This data is now available in Living Atlas for the entire country, for individual states, and District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Use these Living Atlas layers to create your own thematic maps using the over 300 attributes included. In addition, a set of ready-to-use thematic maps of some of the more popular attributes are also available in Living Atlas. Use these layers and maps to try out your mapping ideas quickly and build dashboards and story maps to share with others.
