It's public, so no ownership is required to change the sharing status. One thing you might need to consider is whether or not your organization administrator has enabled you to share content publicly. If you can share content publicly, then you can use this basemap. Send me a link to test if you like - [email protected]

That basemap can be publicly shared from Enterprise. Try opening this test map using the Human Geography basemap I just authored in one of my enterprise portals: Human Geography Test (arcgis.com) Can you share other maps publicly?

Aziz, this is a great idea. Unfortunately it's impractical for us to provide imagery beyond the current historical dates we offer. We used to replace our World Imagery with the latest updates, however we recognized the value to the user community of keeping the older versions available via the Wayback Imagery archives. We have no plans to attempt to collect imagery prior to what we already archive, but moving forward we will continue to archive World Imagery versions for use in the Wayback app and archives.

OSM 3D scene layers can be used to create new scenes, or can be used to enhance existing scenes. All OSM 3D layers are based on the OSM Daylight map distribution. The layers are hosted by Esri, available via Living Atlas, and are updated monthly. OSM 3D layers include OpenStreetMap 3D Buildings, OpenStreetMap 3D Trees (Thematic), and OpenStreetMap 3D Trees (Realistic). OSM layers add context to existing scenes Use Living Atlas 3D OpenStreetMap layers to add context to scenes provides steps to add context to an existing scene with buildings using OpenStreetMap 3D Buildings, leveraging spatial filters on scene layers.

Due to Google's licensing, it's not possible to use Google basemaps in ArcGIS Online. Bing Maps are a great alternative, here's the help section that covers it: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/administer/configure-map.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_3E780EDD49D94952B193F8A52A2B293E It's an administrator configuration that is set in Organization > Settings > Maps > Bing Maps. ArcGIS Living Atlas includes basemaps and component layers you can use. This is a complete list: https://livingatlas.arcgis.com/en/browse/#d=2&type=maps&cont=true&categories=Basemaps%3A11100 As for imagery basemaps, Bing or the World Imagery basemap would be your best options. World Imagery: https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=10df2279f9684e4a9f6a7f08febac2a9 Use this app to see recent and planned updates for your area of interest: https://www.arcgis.com/apps/MapSeries/index.html?appid=27236479807f43e9ac3ff65d6777e324

Pop-ups are a powerful way to display information in your map in an intuitive way. Using Arcade, you can also bring information into your pop-ups from layers that are not in your map. Using this technique, you can include valuable Living Atlas information from live feeds, Census demographics, environmental data, and much more without adding additional layers to your map. Taking things a step further, you can combine all the information in an Arcade pop-up element to build an HTML table to control typography, images, and more. For more information, see Enhance your pop-ups using Arcade + Living Atlas.

WCAG accessible basemaps are now available via ArcGIS Living Atlas as "enhanced contrast basemaps" for easier readability for those visually impaired. Basemaps come in a light and dark version The maps are available in both Web Mercator and WGS84. They can be opened directly from the Living Atlas website and can be added to your custom basemap gallery. See Working with Enhanced Contrast Basemaps for more information, or view all enhanced contrast maps and layers by searching the ArcGIS Living Atlas website.

Hi Zach, My opinion here only... I'm a big fan of categories, and like them better than tags. Why? Categories are more structured - you control the categories, Esri doesn't add any (like tags that are added when you do analysis, etc.), and you have very good editing tools to edit/manage/create them. Plus, you can have both organization categories or group-based categories. Here's a recently updated blog on group-based categories: https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-online/mapping/category-gallery/ That said, tags are very useful as well, however there are no built-in tools to manage or edit them, though there are some third-party tools that do that. Tags also play a role in elevating items in search. My suggestion is to leverage both. I especially like categories when used within groups. Here's some more information on Category Gallery for group-based categories, including apps. https://community.esri.com/t5/gis-blog/category-gallery-for-covid-19-learning-resources/ba-p/898508 Bern

Map Viewer, not Map Viewer Classic, is the way ahead. Group layers will not be added to Map Viewer Classic and it will no longer be evolved. One of the many reasons is that underneath the hood, Map Viewer is built upon our latest JS API 4.x foundation, as are the Instant Apps, Experience Builder, and ArcGIS Dashboards. This common foundation allows for the support of new features, such as effects, blending, rotation, and yes - group layers and more, to be supported across the ArcGIS system. Map Viewer Classic will continue to be available and supported. In future updates, the remaining features that Classic supports (such as analysis, Save Layer, and drag-and-drop of CSV files) will be added to Map Viewer. You are encouraged to migrate to the new Map Viewer to take advantage of the new capabilities, but can use Map Viewer Classic whenever needed. Your comments are appreciated, so feel free to add them to the Feedback section here on the Esri Community, or send them directly via email.
