Hi Sarah, The classic Story Map "tour" template, should let you achieve this effect. I am a novice and still very much learning, but here is a sample story map I created that uses the tour template: https://arcg.is/199rXy ((I haven't yet found the solution to preventing occasional unwanted "zoom out" effect in my example, but hopefully I will at some point). In general, the "Tour" template I used has the same structure as your link for the story map ABC Birds https://abcbirds.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapTour/index.html?appid=2a9bfc38d903490c9ca05a1adefd2aed. Hope this helps, Mia

On p.10, there is a screenshot that shows a tab that suggests photos can be imported from Unsplash: I have tried both my public, and organizational accounts, in story maps, but so far I cannot locate a tab for Unsplash import option. Do I need to do something to enable Unsplash import?

When I try to access the photo guidelines document at https://esri.app.box.com/v/photo-guidelines-for-web-maps I get "This shared file or folder link has been removed or is unavailable to you." Has the document been moved/removed? Or is the document not available for public account holders? Thanks https://community.esri.com/community/education/blog/2017/02/17/photo-guidelines-for-arcgis-online-maps-including-story-maps #photo story maps

Just to add to my own thread, I went to classic My Stories and under 'issues', it says the underlying Map was deleted. It's possible this was done, albeit inadvertently. Is there s way to 'reconnect' another map at this stage? I'd hate to lose the rest of the work, i.e., uploaded photos, links to pdfs that were embedded in the tabs, and so on. Can those be recovered, or is it all lost?

I'm a relative newbie and on the steep part of the ArcGIS learning curve. Using a public account, I used the classic Shortlist template, and gained a lot of practice going through tutorials, etc, and getting things working (uploading photos, arranging tabs, getting used to working with map features, etc.). When my Shortlist was at a satisfactory stage, I toggled on the public share, copied the URLs, and last week it was working. Today, I get "An error has occurred. Unable to create map". Doesn't sound encouraging 😞 Nothing opens. These are URLs I had copied from within the StoryMap application (using the share link icon, upper right-hand corner, if I recall correctly) when the shortlist was working: Shared public url: http://bit.ly/30e5drV. and https://arcg.is/fmm4W When I'm in My Content overview, the URL is: https://www.arcgis.com/apps/Shortlist/index.html?appid=b21bcf5e57b54a989c4f4141f16418bc Hopefully I haven't done anything truly unrecoverable (like delete something I shouldn't have), but as I have a rudimentary and imperfect understanding of how everything works together, it can't be ruled out. What have I messed up? Mia

Please pass along my comments to the creators of the Placing Oral History storymap - that is an absolutely first-rate story map IMHO - such an excellent balance between flow of the storyline, visuals, quotes, scrolling, clicking, etc. - I just went through Aghiad Amir and found it a riveting narrative. Thank you for the experience --

Answering my own question! Found the template in Story Map Tour. What about an attribution tag of some type? I don't see where to identify the creator of the ones in the gallery.

I'm just starting to explore Story Maps. I would like some information on the Story Map "Seven Wonder: The Ancient World" located at Seven Wonders: The Ancient List . There's also the Seven Wonders: the New List at Seven Wonders: The New List which I discovered only by following a link at the bottom of the text describing the 7th wonder. Q1: When I'm viewing the story map is there a creator attribution field where I can see who created it in order to give appropriate credit? I think these were both created by the Esri Story Map Team, but I don't see that anywhere. How can I determine that information? Q2: Also, were these two story maps created using one of the Story Map templates, and if so, which template? I scrolled through the gallery of examples to find an example like it, but don't see anything quite like it with 2 fixed panels on the left-hand side, where the lower panel can be clicked forward and back < > to proceed in sequence. Which template should be used to produce that effect? Thanks, Mia
