Hi David Coley and Nataliya Lys, I was wondering if you ever figured out why your registered ArcGIS Services were allowing the option for file geodabase downloads? I need to register some more of our rest services in AGOL/Open Data and would really love the option for file geodatabase downloads without having to post a file geodatabase for it to link to. I had read on another post and wondered if the ability that you are seeing for certain services that enable file geodabase download is because the service was published to have feature access capabilities and data export enabled? If yes, is the data for your service coming from an enterprise database or file database? I was hoping the enhancement would have been resolved. Thanks, Kathy

I'm wondering if in this case if I just need to create a new content item in AGOL with our rest service and basically copy/paste the info (description and other) from the hosted AGOL layer and then delete the hosted feature service. It seems cumbersome but that is seeming like the solution in my case. Thanks

ok, that makes sense. One thing is the person that originally published the layers from ArcMap had separate map services which I guess differs from the current ArcGIS Server rest service which has 6 layers within one map service. In ArcGIS Pro I can just add a url for a single layer within the map service but in ArcMap when I add the rest service url I don't have the option for a specific layer and can only turn off/turn on in ArcMap. This seems problematic in overwriting the individual hosted feature layers. Can I overwrite the hosted AGOL feature services from ArcGIS Pro if they were originally published from ArcMap or ArcMap only? Thank-you!

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to update the url of a hosted feature layer in AGOL that is shared on Open Data. The feature layer was originally published thru ArcMap to AGOL but I now would like to update the url with a service from our ArcGIS Server. When I look in the settings options for the hosted feature layer I don't see the option to update the url like I do with other items. I've also tried to update the registered service url using the ArcGIS Online Assistant. It lets me add in the url but when I click update and check the url it reverts back to the hosted AGOL url. I believe because the data was originally uploaded thru ArcMap that I may need to overwrite the service thru ArcMap but I'm a bit confused on how I would now point the AGOL url to that of our ArcGIS Service url thru ArcMap. I would rather not completely remove the item from AGOL and have to re-populate all the descriptions and settings in Open Data since this is pretty time intensive and doesn't seem like it should be necessary. Hopefully there is an easy solution I am missing. Thanks in advance, Kathy

Hi Rachel Laqua and Kelly Hutchins, I would really like to modify the selection color in the Story Map series template and at this time we are not planning to host on our network but would prefer to leave it all on AGOL. I've looked around in settings but don't see any options for modifying the selection color. I didn't see anything posted on the ideas section either for updates. Thank-you!!, Kathy

I did finally get the file geodatabase links to work and I think it was just my own error of not populating the correct sub-tab, but now it works! I also added links to static maps of the data which is really a nice feature. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks Tyler Burns! That is really good to know on the logged enhancement. I did go ahead and add additional download files to the distribution tab within the metadata for that layer. I've also reset the download index in hub numerous times but have yet to see the download option for that file geodatabase actually update to show. Do you know if there is any issues/special things to do for the reset to complete to show these additional resources? Thanks so much!, Kathy

Hello, I'm trying to figure out the best practice for adding data to AGOL so that when I share it in the Open Data group the data layer download options will include a file geodatabase. In our organization, we have individual layers that were uploaded to AGOL directly so they are hosted and I have went thru the process of changing the settings for "Allow others to export to different formats" and reset the index in hub so these layers now provide the option for downloading as a file geodatabase. However I've now tried adding an item from the web using the Rest End Point (published on our local server) to create a new feature layer in AGOL and what I've noticed is the settings option "allow others to export to different formats" isn't even an option. When I share to our Open Data group, this feature layer can be downloaded as a shapefile, spreadsheet, or kml which is great but we really need the file geodatabase option. I also read on the ESRI help or similar that the file geodatabase option will only be available for hosted rest services, so I also created a service (with multiple layers) and published this service to our AGOL. When I added the individual rest endpoint for a new feature layer and shared with Open Data I still do not see the options for allow to export to different formats. What data types in AGOL will allow for the file geodatabase options in Open Data/Hub? From my current understanding the only way to allow for this is to upload each individual layer as a hosted feature service but this doesn't seem correct. Thanks for your help!, Kathy

The exported .pdf both original and the save to reduced file both looked great until they were put in the browser. Firefox might be fine because it just wants to save the .pdf but Edge was so crazy looking. Our webmaster hasn't seen that happen before and we have a lot of ArcMap exported .pdfs currently on the website but likely not too many Pro exports (yet).

Hello, I am using Pro 2.3.2 and also noticed larger file sizes or needed to reduce the .pdf maps for use on our website. The maps consist of vector data and the exports look great. To reduce the .pdf I did the save as reduced file size in Adobe Acrobat and then passed them to our webmaster to post online. I think the webmaster also saved the .pdfs again to reduce file size. I think in the save as reduced file size option it had make compatible with Adobe Acrobat 8.0 and later. Anyway when the .pdfs were posted on our website and I was completely surprised on what the .pdfs looked like. In Google Chrome the .pdf mostly looked good except the Arial bold font was distorted and not right. In Microsoft Edge the map looked really awful with it being stretched and not displaying right at all. I've attached two screenshots showing the website maps. Microsoft Edge is the 1st screenshot and then Google Chrome second. Has anybody experienced this? Kory Kramer? Jeff Barrette? Jeremy Wright? I've now exported the .pdfs with the save to image file and that seems to resolve the issue although there a few text items that look better in the original than as an image file. What I don't understand is why this would happen in the first place because sometimes I may not want to export as an image file. Thanks in advance!, Kathy

Hi, I created a group template in hopes of using it when data is being collected in Collector for ArcGIS aerial surveys. Essentially it would create a line (that traces a coastline) and adds a start and end point to the line. I guess in short are group templates only applicable in ArcGIS Pro? Thanks for the clarification! Kathy

Thanks George Thompson!, If both the 32-bit client and 64-bit client will be installed locally I see there is note about the path variable. If both ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Desktop are installed on the same Windows computer, set the PATH variable to read the 64-bit client before the 32-bit client. For example, if you installed a 32-bit Oracle Instant Client to c:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle and installed the 64-bit Oracle Instant Client to c:\Program Files\Oracle, add the following to the beginning of your PATH variable value on Windows: C:\Program Files\Oracle;C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle;. Am I interpreting the above correctly to add in the 64-bit client location in front of but on the same line as the 32-bit so it would just be the one path variable for both clients? Thanks!!

Hello, It looks like you both have very good knowledge of Oracle clients and the different environments. I was hoping you might provide some direction. Currently I have the Oracle 12 Client (12.1.0.3) installed on my local machine so I could connect to an Oracle database via ArcMap. Now I would like to connect via ArcGIS Pro, but I get a connection error because I'm missing the correct client for ArcGIS Pro. Could you provide guidance for how best to install the 32 bit and 64 bit Oracle clients on my local machine so I can connect to the database thru both ArcMap/Pro? Also I want to create map services on the GIS Server but also need to install the client(s) on that machine. Is this a different client than the ones used for ArcMap/Pro? Thanks in advance for your help!, Kathy
