Hello, I am using Pro 2.3.2 and also noticed larger file sizes or needed to reduce the .pdf maps for use on our website. The maps consist of vector data and the exports look great. To reduce the .pdf I did the save as reduced file size in Adobe Acrobat and then passed them to our webmaster to post online. I think the webmaster also saved the .pdfs again to reduce file size. I think in the save as reduced file size option it had make compatible with Adobe Acrobat 8.0 and later. Anyway when the .pdfs were posted on our website and I was completely surprised on what the .pdfs looked like. In Google Chrome the .pdf mostly looked good except the Arial bold font was distorted and not right. In Microsoft Edge the map looked really awful with it being stretched and not displaying right at all. I've attached two screenshots showing the website maps. Microsoft Edge is the 1st screenshot and then Google Chrome second. Has anybody experienced this? Kory Kramer? Jeff Barrette? Jeremy Wright? I've now exported the .pdfs with the save to image file and that seems to resolve the issue although there a few text items that look better in the original than as an image file. What I don't understand is why this would happen in the first place because sometimes I may not want to export as an image file. Thanks in advance!, Kathy

Hi, I created a group template in hopes of using it when data is being collected in Collector for ArcGIS aerial surveys. Essentially it would create a line (that traces a coastline) and adds a start and end point to the line. I guess in short are group templates only applicable in ArcGIS Pro? Thanks for the clarification! Kathy

Thanks George Thompson!, If both the 32-bit client and 64-bit client will be installed locally I see there is note about the path variable. If both ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Desktop are installed on the same Windows computer, set the PATH variable to read the 64-bit client before the 32-bit client. For example, if you installed a 32-bit Oracle Instant Client to c:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle and installed the 64-bit Oracle Instant Client to c:\Program Files\Oracle, add the following to the beginning of your PATH variable value on Windows: C:\Program Files\Oracle;C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle;. Am I interpreting the above correctly to add in the 64-bit client location in front of but on the same line as the 32-bit so it would just be the one path variable for both clients? Thanks!!

Hello, It looks like you both have very good knowledge of Oracle clients and the different environments. I was hoping you might provide some direction. Currently I have the Oracle 12 Client (12.1.0.3) installed on my local machine so I could connect to an Oracle database via ArcMap. Now I would like to connect via ArcGIS Pro, but I get a connection error because I'm missing the correct client for ArcGIS Pro. Could you provide guidance for how best to install the 32 bit and 64 bit Oracle clients on my local machine so I can connect to the database thru both ArcMap/Pro? Also I want to create map services on the GIS Server but also need to install the client(s) on that machine. Is this a different client than the ones used for ArcMap/Pro? Thanks in advance for your help!, Kathy

Hi, I found the below info from ESRI technical support which has a similar example to what I want to do including the table below with start/stop lat/longs so essentially 1 start point and 1 stop point in the same row. The overall goal is similar to create lines between the start and stop points. What I'm having trouble understanding in this example is the procedure 2b only shows to 'Select the X and Y values in the X and Y Fields'. Unless I'm missing something you can only select 1 X field and 1 Y field correct? There is no mention of running the tool twice but yet the output shown below shows both the start/end points? Can someone let me know what I'm missing? Originally I was going to create start/end point feature classes but below is ideal to have the data as it is shown in the table so lines can be connected using that tool. Thanks in advance!, Kathy How To: Create connection lines between two or more points Summary The instructions provided describe how to create connection lines between two or more points in ArcMap. For example, seismic lines data spreadsheet usually consists of start and end point locations, representing the seismic lines to be shot in a survey. In ArcMap, it is possible to generate a set of lines from these points using the XY To Line tool. To ensure the lines that generated in ArcMap are accurately located, the attribute table must contain the latitude and longitude of the start and end point features, as illustrated in the example below. Procedure Follow the steps below to create connection lines between two or more points on a map. Insert the XY data into ArcMap. Select the correct coordinate system and X and Y Fields. Right-click the particular layer in the data table, and select Display XY Data. Select the X and Y values in the X and Y Fields. Click Edit to define a correct coordinate system. Click OK twice. The points are now added to the map as a layer in the Table of Contents. Save the points permanently. Right-click the event layer, and select Data > Export Data. Click the Browse button to select a location and name for the new file. Set the file type as shapefile or feature class. Click Save, and click OK. Go to ArcToolbox > Data Management Tools > Features > XY to Line. Using the new shapefile or feature class created in Step 5, enter in the Start X-coordinate field, Start Y-coordinate field, End X-coordinate field, and End Y-coordinate field of the table. Run the XY to Line tool.

Hi, Our organization had numerous ESRI licensing accounts and this year we've been merging license groups under one customer number. We are trying to figure out how to associate or transfer an AGOL user and their content to our larger group AGOL organization. We tried to invite the user via the 3rd option in the invite members but the issue it is not a public account but an account associated with an organization so it gives an error, "Your user is already associated with another organization. You cannot join this one." How can we transfer or move that user to our larger account? Can you change the organization your AGOL account is associated with? It seems this has to be possible isn't it? Yes we can share content thru a group but what we want is to transfer ownership of the web apps/feature services and it shows you can only transfer ownership of content within the same organization. Thanks in advance!, Kathy

Hi Rebecca Wang and Rupert Essinger, I had posted about 10 days ago and haven't heard back from anyone. Rebecca are you still experiencing this issue in IE? Our group recently launched the Short List story maps on our Department website and in my post earlier people were experiencing what you had originally described. I'm wondering what the status of the fix is or if there is another bug? Thanks in advance for your help, Kathy

Hardolph Wasteneys, I just wanted to say thanks so much for the solution you posted. I have been trying all sorts of tools trying to move a shoreline feature a certain distance and angle. I tried buffer, copy parallel, it feels like the works but none of the tools provided the results I needed. Basically I needed a line from a point onshore to be a certain distance which seems so easy but when you buffer and measure at a latitude from the point on shore to the buffered line it is not the correct distance. So I tried the workflow you provided and it worked!!! Thanks SO much!, Kathy

Hi Raúl Jiménez Ortega, I just had a couple of follow up questions regarding the Google Analytics and the Story Maps we have deployed. I've checked to make sure our GA code is referenced at the bottom of the index.html. I also see the tab change in the custom script.js (although I didn't modify anything) and now I'm wondering where in the Google Analytics site we might be able to see/track those tab changes. Currently under pages tracked we can see the Story Map links as a whole. Here is an example of one of the Story Maps for Prince of Wales, would the Story Map being placed in an iframe not allow Google Analytics to track the tab changes with the additional code in the fork you created or I'm wondering if I don't have something set correctly. Thanks! Kathy

Hi Robert, I would like to submit an incident to ESRI. It was suggested it would help if we could tie it in with your incident number or so they could reference. Is this something you would pass along or still have? Thanks Again.
