Thank-you!! We found it in the Google Analytics program from your tips above!

Hardolph Wasteneys, I just wanted to say thanks so much for the solution you posted. I have been trying all sorts of tools trying to move a shoreline feature a certain distance and angle. I tried buffer, copy parallel, it feels like the works but none of the tools provided the results I needed. Basically I needed a line from a point onshore to be a certain distance which seems so easy but when you buffer and measure at a latitude from the point on shore to the buffered line it is not the correct distance. So I tried the workflow you provided and it worked!!! Thanks SO much!, Kathy

Hi Raúl Jiménez Ortega, I just had a couple of follow up questions regarding the Google Analytics and the Story Maps we have deployed. I've checked to make sure our GA code is referenced at the bottom of the index.html. I also see the tab change in the custom script.js (although I didn't modify anything) and now I'm wondering where in the Google Analytics site we might be able to see/track those tab changes. Currently under pages tracked we can see the Story Map links as a whole. Here is an example of one of the Story Maps for Prince of Wales, would the Story Map being placed in an iframe not allow Google Analytics to track the tab changes with the additional code in the fork you created or I'm wondering if I don't have something set correctly. Thanks! Kathy

Hi Robert, I would like to submit an incident to ESRI. It was suggested it would help if we could tie it in with your incident number or so they could reference. Is this something you would pass along or still have? Thanks Again.

Thanks Robert and Dan for all the responses. I'm going to look into the planar versus geodesic geometry differences for how that creates such different angle output for the lines created by the respective tools. I think that is good advice Robert on its a good practice to stick with one method for a project and document which method was used.

The cyan line is the 297 bearing using the editor direction function for editing/adding a line. The greenish line was created using that Bearing Distance to Line tool. Actually someone else put in that line and then I just tried the tool and got the very same results. If the bearing doesn't look correct in the Bearing Distance to Line tool output then why is that? The benefit of the tool when using WGS84 is being able to have it draw a line in miles whereas I'm not able to do that editing a line using direction/distance with WGS84 since decimal degrees is the units or is there a workaround. Shouldn't both of these line angles be the same? I'm working on a project that I know someone else used the Bearing Distance to Line tool quite a bit and it doesn't make me feel very confident in our lines if the angles are this far off in cases where the tool was used.

The geodesic values apply to the length correct, but shouldn't the angle of the lines be the same between the two tools? The Bearing Distance to Line says "The angles are measured clockwise from North" and in the Editor if I choose North Azimuth, the help says "the azimuth of a line is the horizontal angle measured from a meridian to the line, measured in the clockwise direction from north" and the schematic looks like a compass. Below the two lines are both originating from the same point with a bearing of 297,the cyan line is delineated based on the Editor -Direction and the green line is the Bearing Distance to Line tool using that same starting point bearing, then specifying distance in miles with a rhumb line. Like I said I know the distance isn't comparable since WGS84 doesn't have measurable distance units when editing but I feel like there must be something obvious in my methods for such a big difference?

I was using WGS84 for both the feature class line I was editing and also the Bearing Distance to Line tool. I know the distance is hard to measure with the editor directions/length since the length units but its the difference in angles that is really quite different. I have the editor set to Direction Type: North Azimuth so they should be comparable right for the angles between the two methods?

Hi Robert, I was searching and found your post regarding similar results I'm getting for drawing a line with the same bearing using the editor direction/distance compared to the Bearing Distance to Line tool. I'm really curious about the difference in angles between the lines. Did you get a response from tech support on this? Thanks, Kathy

Hi, Did you ever get your Open Data Site to display images in Edge? I just noticed it is the same for our Open Data Site, I can see the images in other browsers but not Edge. Thanks!

That's a great Story Map. I also really like your formatting. I was trying to figure out where you added the HTML formatting. Did you add it in each location or do you have it incorporated into the index.html css? It looks like you have it more systematically set up than editing each text box.

Thanks Rupert. You know that might be a good idea just for having a improving the display for the front desk monitors at our office locations. We chose the shortlist over the map tour so we could add in other layers in the map (roads, trails,...etc) once a person zooms in. Also the text editor was easier to add formatting to at the time. That said I could now easily export my points/info/photo url links and make it into a map tour for presentation purposes.

Hi Owen and Rupert, Thanks so much for your quick replies and explanations of the Story Map template shortlist. I don't have a photo at the moment to include but I will work on that. Basically the front desk set up is a 65 " screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution at a 16:9 ratio. I will try increasing the browser zoom as a work around on a similar screen in another room here easier to test out than at the front desk. It was exciting to see up on the larger screen especially now that the shortlist includes the autoplay function but instinctively a person does want to increase the location photos. Thanks, Kathy
