I did some exploration and although what Id like to be able to suggest is the ability to set a default value for a select_one question, something like this: I found this didn't work . We will explore the behavior of defaults and calculations some more, but in the meantime I was able to succeed with pulldata(). In the following example I moved the the random calculation into a calculate question, and instead of storing my list of values in the choices tab, I put them in a file called randomactivities.csv in the surveys media folder. This is what the .csv file looks like: Then back in my survey, in a text question I used pulldata() to return the id from the .csv file that matched the random number generated in the calculate question and displayed the corresponding action: The result is this:

...upon reopening the .info file is overwritten. This line in your comment above strikes me. This is not - should not - be the case. I have tried my own offline sample again (which i haven't used for a few releases) and it still contains the expected modifications. Do check that when you finish editing your .info file that you close the file in whatever text editor you are using, before you open Connect. Although a number of improvements have been identified for the offline map workflow - they have not been scheduled for release. Regarding the extent of the feature service - this can be changed in ArcGIS Online. This is in fact the first I've heard of this (and we have no internal bugs or issues along these lines) so this makes me think its a niche request. Happy to be proved wrong with examples.

hmm... here is a screenshot of my machine settings. As you can see it is 64bit and the OS version number you describe. Perhaps the difference is the Pro version?

The initialization error that is described here is to do with the SQL Server CE installation. Be sure that you have version 3.1 installed. This is installed when you install ArcPad. Look in Add/Remove Programs to be sure what version you have. Consider whether there's a possibility that you may have upgraded the version of SQL Server CE on your machine for some other purpose (another app perhaps).

The steps you describe sound correct (creating in ArcMap, add to a new map in ArcPad, they should appear the same), so i wonder if the projection that your expecting is in fact being used in ArcPad. To check: 1. Select the layer in the Table of Contents 2. Choose Map Properties 3. Go to the projection tab Do you see the expected projection listed in the Projection page?

Please consider that even if you can make this installation location change via script - the app will be looking for content and data files in the user folder. Whats described above 'shouldn't' work... but if it does, its by luck, not design. Am keen to hear about any additional findings with this install question.

Hi Sandra, Survey123 must be installed to the users folder, that can not be changed. Here's an idea (not tested, just thinking out loud) are you able to create a user profile on the classroom machines under which to install Survey123? And then, when the students use the app they 'run as different user' similar to whats described here Enable Right-Click “Run as different user” in Windows

I have installed the fall creator edition of Windows 10 build 1709 and successfully have my device connected to the computer with Windows Mobile Device Center. The steps to get this to work are: 1. Uninstall and reinstall Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 2. As per the original blog above, again modify the log in mode of the Windows Mobile 2003-based device connectivity service as described in https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/after-windows-10-creators-update-can-not-connect/9807ebe3-0e53-410d-b3b2-067d3f92de0e NB: When I made this change this time (with the fall update), I did get an error when trying to restart the service saying that another similar service uses a different log in. If you get this too, look for a service called Windows Mobile based device connectivity service, and make the same change there. Restarting both services will now work. 3. Follow the steps here https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/9cab3e8e-6cc4-48e4-8ed9-d595bc83f04b/windows-mobile-device-centre?forum=win10itproapps#a044cbb9-77bd-44c3-a150-3d2cb5bd1c92 to add a property to two registry items. 4. Restart your computer

Trek2There is a smart compass that will always point to your destination. If you missed previous releases, read more about the app in Introducing Trek2There and Trek2There Update. To help you orientate yourself in your real world surroundings, Trek2There now has a first person view that displays your destination on the camera view of your device. Tilt your device up to face where your going, and see the existing direction arrow change to a camera view with your direction and distance overlaid on the image. We think this heads up display is pretty cool on its own - but if your keen, there's more for you to try out. On the settings page you will see an option called Experimental Features - turn these on to try out the use of more sensors on your device. By default in Trek2There, we only use the location sensor to determine where you are in relation to your destination. When you enable experimental features, we also make use of the compass, gyroscope and other sensors. We have seen this work great on some devices in some scenarios, but also a little a strange in others. We are very keen to hear from you on how the experimental features work for you. Ideally this is what you will see when you are in experimental mode: When you are stationary (or moving very slowly) the compass will be used to determine the distance and direction to your destination. This should result in stationary or very smooth movements of the direction arrow. In the top right hand corner you will see the text CMP to indicate that the compass is in use. When you are moving steadily, the location sensor will be used to determine the distance and direction to your destination. This should result in steady changes in direction (not shakiness that can result when using the compass while moving). In the top right hand corner you will see the text GPS to indicate the location sensor is in use. Please let us know how the experimental features work on your device by commenting here https://github.com/Esri/Trek2There/issues

Yes Server 2008 R2 and IWA could both be contributing factors, but a single install for multiple users is probably the big issue your hitting. When you launch Survey123 Connect it will be looking for My Survey Design in your user folder. There is no way for it to look in a shared folder.

The description above appears to be using 1.10 or earlier - is that right? Its resolved / different (depends on your perspective) in 2.0 with the new edit functionality. In 2.0 when you attempt to open a sent survey you get two choices 'Edit and resend' or 'Copy to a new survey'. In the first case - 'Edit and resend' - if you do what is described above, you will see the survey gets moved to Drafts, and indeed if you delete the draft, you no long have a copy of it on your device. The original is still in your feature service, but you cant edit it from the Sent box any more. If you do need to edit sent surveys you should configure the Inbox. In the second case - 'Copy to a new survey' - a copy is made in Drafts but the original sent survey remains in the sent box.
