HI Cory Because the select_multiple actually returns a string, any alternative approach would require you extracting the numbers from the string (and then getting the min/max), and would still require a number of if statements to achieve what you are trying to do. So to answer your question - there is not an easier way to do this. Thanks John

Hi Cory Select_multiple (or select_one) questions do not support calculations of any type. So it is not possible to use min or max in the way that you outlined. We can get this added as an enhancement request though. Thanks John

Hi Stefano I can confirm that using today() in a calculation in combination with required should work. Are you able to share your survey and also let me know what operating system you are running the app on? Thanks John

Hi - There are two ways that you can approach this: 1) You can create a feature service with a related table. The main feature layer representing the asset, and the table representing the inspections. This enables you to have many inspections collected against the one asset/feature. You can then set up a survey that points directly to the the related table (using the form_id in the settings, to specify the table you want to target) - so you can start adding inspections directly to the inspections table. 2) You can use the inbox functionality to edit or update existing features/assets. In this workflow you could configure the inbox where clause to download and edit features with a particular attribute value (e.g. a status of 'For Review') or with a particular edited date (e.g before 1/03/2017). Please let me know if you need any further information on either of these approaches.

Hi Chris - unfortunately it is not possible to use calculations to update select_one questions (in your case we would want to update the select_one using the answer to a previous question). I will get you added to the enhancement request we have open for this functionality.

Hi Tucker - yes portal is different. It does not provide you with the existing service definition to edit.

We have experienced variants of this issue (that we are looking into) - but not this exact one. Could you provide me with the exact device model you are using? Thanks

Hi David - It is not currently possible to have Survey123 query a feature service (containing the existing surveys). So you can't do a check on what surveyIDs have been previously used. I will however get this added as an enhancement request. Would it be possible to use another approach and just ensure that you use a surveyID that is always unique - e.g. creating a string based on username and date?

Hi Tucker - Survey123 Connect does not update the domain when republishing surveys. We do have this the addition of this capability open as an enhancement request, and I have added you to it. As a workaround, you can manually update the domain with the values; see Updating Hosted Feature Services in ArcGIS Online | ArcGIS Blog

When online you just need to go into the menu and select 'download surveys'. From here you can download one or more of your surveys to the device. You are then able to complete and submit surveys while offline - with completed surveys being saved to the outbox. When online again, you can send the surveys from the outbox to the feature service. If you need offline access to a basemap for a geopoint question, you will need to create a tile package (.tpk) and copy it to the device (there a few ways to achieve this).
