Hi Thom Can you confirm that you are testing against Portal and if so what version. Also was the service created using Survey123 Connect? Thanks John

Hi Sarah Yes this message indicates that the survey is submitting a value larger the field can accept. You should not need to recreate the service to fix this, but will need to work out which field is causing the problem. A Few Questions - Are you using the field app or the web form? and what version are you using? - Have you made any changes to choice lists, i.e. added records with longer names, when compared to than those that were there when you published your survey. - Have you specified any esri field length values for questions in the survey (to reduce the field length). - Are you able to submit the survey without entering any values? - Can you share the survey xls? Thanks John

Hi Thao The current version of the app supports the zooming of levels beyond level 19, but a bug occurs when switching from basemaps with lower zoom levels. There is a workaround however: - Update the survey’s .info file to restrict it to reference local TPKs only. This requires you adding and updating the displayInfo json: { "displayInfo": { "map": { "mapTypes": { "append": false, "includeLibrary": true } } }, "serviceInfo": { "itemId": "3ed8ad7f9edb4efc8d5613d6f78cacff", "type": "Feature Service", "url": "https://services5.arcgis.com/" } } See the doc for more info on this step: http://doc.arcgis.com/en/survey123/desktop/create-surveys/preparebasemaps.htm - Copy a TPK with the required high zoom levels (this can be very small and does not need to display anything) to the map directory on the field device (\My Surveys\Maps). - Copy the TPK that you want to view in the map to the same directory - In the Survey123 field app, open the survey and click on the GeoPoint question - Click on the hamburger button to view the Map Types list - Select the other high zoom level TPK, then select the desired TPK. - You will be able to access scales beyond 19 Here is a video of the steps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfoeGWAwv3s Thanks John

In that case you should create your forms in Survey123. Once your data is collected you can then download the data as File GDB from the Survey123 website (https://survey123.arcgis.com) and import it into your SDE. If you have concerns over field types, then publish the survey(s) and immediately take a look at the REST end point of the created service. This URL can be accessed by going to the service item in AGOL. If you are unhappy with the fields types created, you can use the bind::esri:fieldType column in the survey to specify the field type for each question (Esri custom columns—Survey123 for ArcGIS | ArcGIS ). You will then need to republish the survey for these changes to take effect. I hope this helps. John

Hi Laurie Can you share a little info on your setup? Do you have a Portal federated server that points to your SDE. Or are you planning to collect your data in ArcGIS Online and then download it? Thanks John

Hi Jonny - set the bind::esriFieldType field to null for those questions you don't want to create a field or submit a value for.

Hi Paul The approach to put an image question within a repeat does work. However not in your case. This is because Survey123 does not support nested repeats and your survey already has the parent layer of buildings and the child table of inspections. The inspections table can not go onto have a child table in the same survey. A workaround would be to create a form that directly targets the inspections table and then have a related table for the images. This would however mean you would not see any of the questions from the buildings featurelayer in the survey. If this would work for you I can show you how to do this. John
