Hi Marie-Lou Photos are not currently supported for lines and polygons. But we would be keen to hear your user requirements. What are you looking to do and when would you want the photo to be taken (at the start or end of the line)? Thanks John

Hi Ryan The issue is the Collector needs to iOS whitelist the apps that it launches. This has not yet been done as it will require an update of the Collector app. This is noted in the documentation: Integrate with other apps—QuickCapture | Documentation We will update this post when we have a timeline for this. Thanks John

Hi - In your example, there needs to be a field in the layer called Comments (if not you will need to create it), this is where the value will be written to. You can view the layer and fields in the ArcGIS Online Map Viewer, by viewing the attribute table. You can launch the map viewer by clicking the View Results option on the project in the designer: If the value is not being written to captured records, then could you email me your project JSON and I'll take a look ([email protected])?

You first need to make sure that your feature layer has an X (longitude) and Y (latitude) field. These need to of the type of double. Then create a project from the feature layer, select the button, go to the data tab, and set the device variables for these fields. The device variables you want to use are Latitude (DD) and Longitude (DD). For length, this is a system managed field that should be updated by the server-side, not by the app. You don't need to do anything to get this populated. For ArcGIS Online feature services, the field to look at is: Shape__Length. Save the project and download it to the mobile application. Capture a line and the appropriate fields will be automatically populated in the captured record.

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to seeing your Halloween snaps!: ArcGIS StoryMaps I'm not aware of any changes that would have affected this in 1.2, but glad to hear you are up and running.

Hi Brian - I will need to look into the work profile issue. This is not something that can just be enabled on a device, it is an enterprise setting. I'll see if I can repro. Thanks John

Hi Brian I had another look at this and found that the issue results from predictive text. In Android, until you tap the spacebar (or close the keyboard), the word is not entered into the input box. This because the word is being constructed and tapping the spacebar selects/confirms the word you want to enter. It is unlikely that we would disable predictive text by default, as most of our users find it valuable. With this in mind, I would say that this is an Android limitation and not something that we can fix. Please let me know if you have any feedback on this. Thanks John

Hi John When we do updates to the mobile application and designer, we do everything we can to ensure that there are no backward compatibility issues. The issue mentioned by Ismael was not a change to the JSON specification, it was a result of a bug in the beta version of the designer. Essentially, when changing the data source of a button from line/polygon to point, the continuous property was not updated (and continuous points were enabled as a result). The JSON was always incorrect in the affected project, but this was not visible in the mobile app until it was upgraded to 1.2. There is always a risk in using beta applications for production workflows. The best way to ensure that the JSON in your projects is correct (with no legacy issues), is to recreate any beta projects using the supported version of the designer (1.2). Thanks John

Hi Jamie We have plans to support a new azimuth (compass reading) variable. This would allow you to write the value to fields in captured features. Would this meet your requirements? Thanks John

Hi Joel Can you confirm whether you are just trying to launch QuickCapture for ArcGIS directly from the web map by clicking the hyperlink? We are aware of some issues with Chrome launching the URLs in Android, so you could try another browser (e.g Firefox). If this is not a browser issue, can you please share an example of the URL that you are using. Thanks John

Hi Lazar Here some answers to your questions: Licensing The QuickCapture mobile app is included in the Field Apps bundle. This means that any user that is a Fieldworker user type or above will get it. You can also buy standalone QuickCapture licenses and assign them to Editor types. Please speak to your account manager for the costing of these options. We have plans to allow public projects. The idea is that if your organization has an ArcGIS Hub license you will be able to share a project publically. Anyone with a link / QR Code will then be able to download and use the project. We hope to add this functionality in the next release (1.3). Databases ArcGIS QuickCapture supports federated services and you can create feature services that reference an underlying database like SQL Server or Oracle. Please see the following links for more information: Federating Portal with ArcGIS Server Federate an ArcGIS Server site with your portal—Portal for ArcGIS (10.7 and 10.7.1) | ArcGIS Enterprise Registering databases with ArcGIS Server Register a SQL Server database with ArcGIS Server—Manage data | ArcGIS Enterprise You can also use non-federated services by adding ArcGIS server services as items to ArcGIS Online. For this to work, the service must be secured using token-based security, and the ArcGIS Server instance must be accessible from outside your organizational firewall Thanks John

I followed this with Garmin - only the Garmin GLO is compatible with ESRI apps. This is because a new, unique protocol was added to the GLO specifically to support the ESRI apps. At this time, Garmin has no plans to expand the implementation of this protocol to other Garmin devices.
