So I started up Pro 2.4.1 again this morning and the problem has returned... When I get time between projects I will contact support but this is really bizzare...

I re-upgraded back up to 2.4.1 and the licensing is working as intended. I am not sure what the issue may have been, I usually always update Pro as soon as an update becomes available. Perhaps something went wrong with the update the last time I updated which did not occur this time - hard to say...

I uninstalled 2.4.1 and reinstalled 2.3.0 and my licensing works again. I then re-patched back up to 2.4.1 and licensing is still working - apparently an issue with the initial upgrade to 2.4.1

I have ArcGIS Pro Standard (and 3D Analyst Extension) authorized by an Administrator online through the Organization portal. Now all of a sudden the Named User License is not syncing with the permissions set online through www.arcgis.com (Organization > Licensing interface) and my license level is Basic with no extensions... I have double checked that my user account has the correct licenses activated (see screenshots) but seems that Pro is not activating them. This was working up until a few months ago. Currently license has been stuck Basic and there is seemingly no way to activate Standard or 3D Analyst through the ArcGIS Online portal. Furthermore, I also have this exact same issue on another account with a different organization (Advanced license, all extensions) which again, when logging into this account, Pro does not activate and remains at Basic license. This was not the case up until a few months ago as well (its been a while since I logged into Pro with this account, but the last time I did, I had Advanced and all extensions activated). Please advise (see screenshots attached). I am on ArcGIS Pro 2.4.1 and seems the issue could have begun with the last update but may not be related? UPDATE: Uninstalling 2.4.1, installing 2.3 and then patching back up to 2.4.1 worked temporarily but the problem has returned. This is not isolated to one account as I have logged in with a different organization/maintenance contract and have the same issue

Also experiencing this issue. The main issue from my perspective is that loading a basemap should not completely lock up ArcMap. I literally cannot do anything when the spinning globe is present in the lower right corner of the screen. Whatever the reason the behind the slow loading basemaps, the key point for me is that it should not lock me out of doing anything in the software while the basemap data loads... Having to control alt delete out of ArcMap (losing work) because I cannot even uncheck the basemap layer (or the pause button) to make the software responsive again, is obviously frustrating.

This is exactly what was needed. Opens many workflows once only possible in ArcMap. I am curious, are custom reports also possible now in ArcGIS Pro. One great thing about (ArcMap) Business Analyst Desktop is the ability to export your custom BDS layer data through a customized report which would aggregate all of your BDS layer data to a specific geography and export that as a report/xml table (basically the same as enrich data but in a custom report format). Hopefully this has also been brought over to Pro, or will be soon.

Enrich Layer tool is worth it alone. From my perspective this was bar-none, the most important tool missing from Business Analyst in ArcGIS Pro. So does this mean that Pro now supports BDS layers, and does it allow users to create their own BDS layers from third-party datasets? Or does this still need to be done through ArcMap?

All I want to do is create a new field and put it next to another similar field further up in the fields view. This seems like a basic feature that should have been incorporated into the product from the beginning. Being able to re-arrange field order is a key feature in organizing any data table...no need to "consider" this feature - get it done

Thanks Kory, I think I am trying to understand if its reproducible or not. If it is not, that would seem to indicate an issue with the dataset, if it is, an issue with Pro. Unfortunately this is the only hyperspectral data I have access to at the moment.

Going directly to the MD path on disk. I believe my dataframe and dataset are all in the same UTM projection and I do not have any on-the-fly image adjustments (I assume you mean adjustments to brightness/contrast/gamma) applied to the MD.

I did not and do not have time to call support and recreate (we are a private sector company) as with 200 band imagery this takes a while to run and to reproduce. I guess the hope was someone at ESRI would read this post and test it out on their end, or another user having a similar issue would chime in so I know the problem isn't isolated. In the end we did the mosaic in ERDAS Imagine and it worked fine so we have phased out Pro in that part of our workflow.

Thats a good point Dan, this would allow me to determine if its the number of bands thats the issue or the size of the final stitched file. Ill look into this. EDIT: when exporting individual flightlines (individual .img files), using both Copy Raster and Mosaic to New Raster, I am getting all 270 bands exported. Therefore it seems related to exporting a hyperspectral mosaic dataset and not other raster types.

Hi Lauren, Thanks for your reply. I tried to use Mosaic to New Raster, but Pro is crashing once progress nears 100% yeilding a raster that is corrupted. I am going to try a few more times and see if I can get the tool to complete. One nice thing about this tool is it lets me specify the number of bands (although Im not sure if the large number of bands is actually the problem to begin with). Mosaic is asking me for a "target raster" to supposedly overwrite. It wont let me just save a new raster unless I create a new blank raster, which I guess is an option I can still try. Seems like Pro just isnt up to the task for imagery with this many bands...We may need to move outside of the ESRI environment for final raster output. I am also curious as to why Copy Raster is only outputting 3-bands when run on a Mosaic Dataset (and why Pro crashes when using Mosaic to New Raster instead)? Exporting single .img files seems to be working as expected (all 270 bands). Paging Kory Kramer

Hello, I have a Mosaic Dataset of drone-based Hyperspectral (270 bands) imagery. The data is comprised of multiple flight paths and is sewn together with seamlines that I created. I am using Pro v2.3.2 (Basic License) When exporting the Mosaic Dataset to a merged raster (.img), using the "Copy Raster" geoprocessing tool, the image that is being outputted is only 3 bands - I am losing all of the other bands. I have tried numerous file types - tif's grids within a gdb, everything outputs the same 3 band imagery, and tried every setting imaginable, including Environment settings. I am exporting as 32 bit float pixel depth (same as the input imagery) and am NOT checking the "Colormap to RGB" box. I have confirmed that the original Mosaic Dataset contains all 270 bands of imagery. Curiously In ArcMap I am hitting an out of memory error (which makes sense) after the process runs for a good deal of time (an hour maybe). To me this probably means all the bands are exporting correctly in ArcMap. However, when running in Pro the process finishes quickly and exports only 3 bands. Same exact settings... The only conclusion I can come to here is that there is a potential bug where the tool is running as if the "Colormap to RGB" setting is always checked. Thanks Tyler

Chris Schlebusch wrote: My still standing summary to Esri is: Use Desktop & Pro in the real world to perform a range of steps to create maps, data products and related tasks and measure the outcome in metrics such as number of clicks, amount of mouse movement required, GUI draw wait time & process run time as well as overall project run time. In some aspects Pro is miles ahead of Desktop - I exclusively use it for any workload relating to publishing to Online. For bureau-style cartography and almost all data management I use Catalog & Desktop - often with multiple instances of each open. The Pro approach to editing in the attribute table is deplorable. This sums it up nicely. Development team needs to really run both pieces of software side by side and if Pro isnt at least equally as efficient as ArcMap, then they need to fix it. Running a GP tool to select by attribute/location, apply symbology from a layer file among many other tasks just didnt take that long in ArcMap, nor was it needing to be run as a GP tool... It was near instantaneous and very efficient. Editing an attribute table is so incredibly clunky and inefficient compared to ArcMap.. ex: it resets the position of the attribute table every time a record is editted, needing to manually scroll back to the next row/column/record which needs to be edited (where in ArcMap hitting return takes you one record down-no need to rescroll). This is basic software development 101 and should have been caught by now... It makes me wonder what the development team is thinking... Its a bummer because Pro has a lot going for it, especially the plethora of new Symbology options available with the additional transparency functionality, and just overall easier symbology editing experience (no more windows within windows within windows). I also like the new layout and legend UI and find it much better for cartography. Which is why I still do all my analysis in ArcMap and do map exports in Pro, because ArcMap is faster, but Pro has better cartography options. Is the development team aware of these issues and just dont know how to fix them? Or are they are just completely unaware of the issues... Im not sure which is worse. All I know is that Pro should not be less efficient than ArcMap to do the basic tasks I have mentioned - running a GP tool that takes 30 seconds to do something that once took 1 sec is just unacceptable. People are not going to adopt the software if thats the case... At best, they will only use Pro for certain tasks but still primarily use ArcMap (like me).
