Thanks Joshua, I will. And thank you again for your help on this topic, youve offered a workable solution to getting those statistics, and I thank you for that. Yes the statistics dialog is 'ad-hoc' like you mentioned, but I would like to have that 'ad-hoc' option available. If I want it recorded somewhere then great, I can export it to a table as well. The option is there for the user. My passion comes from wanting software that 'just works' and wanting to see functionality improved. There may be development reasons for limitations, but for the average user like me, we dont care about those issues. We want efficiency and stability in the software we use. How ESRI accomplishes that is not my care, only that it is accomplished

Hi Joshua thanks for the reply. Although I understand that I can export statistics into another table, this is much less convenient than simply right clicking a field name and pulling up all the statistics for the selected (or all) features. I routinely do things such as select by location, then right click field names and pull the std dev, mean, then select by location again (for a different geography), and do the same thing. Maybe I want to see the sum. mean, std dev of features within a 3 mile ring, then again for the features in a 6 mile, 10 mile and so on. Having to export to a table for every time I make a new selection, then open that table (in excel or whatever) is simply less efficient than it is in ArcMap. It takes much more time and many more steps to do the same thing, and I think the essence of Pro should always be to make things more efficient, less cumbersome, not the other way around. I just dont understand why this same process cannot be duplicated in Pro, just let us right click a field name and pull the statistics for whatever selection we have. Easy, simple, efficient. Perhaps I am misunderstanding something, but having to export a separate table (and then open it) is simply more work than how it was. If you can explain to me how the method you outlined is more efficient than it was in ArcMap I would be delighted. Simply put, this (see attachment) needs to be incorporated into Pro in some fashion. I know you arent an ESRI employee so this criticism isnt really directed at you! I appreciate your contributions!

I like ArcGIS Pro but it is lacking in core functionality that is available in ArcMap. Im not sure why they have not ported over the same level of functionality into Pro... One example I have found: right clicking an attribute table column and viewing statistics for mean, std dev, sum, etc. Cant be done in Pro (you need to export statistics to a table/excel, and if you want to look at multiple statistics, say mean and std dev, you have to create a separate export for each). This alone has kept me from moving fully to Pro. Additionally there are still alot of bugs and crashes in Pro, mainly related to multi-threading. The software still feels like it is in beta. It feels unstable (but what ESRI product isnt?) The pros (no pun intended) however, are significant. I can easily style things in Pro and upload to the AGO cloud, which I have found to be very useful for my workflow. Other enhancements such as anti-aliasing, and generally I find the new UI to be much easier to work with. Every day I am discovering new things in Pro that I am finding useful. I use Business Analyst for most of my work and am patiently waiting for this to be implemented in Pro. Once this is done and the multi-threading/crashing issues are solved, I can see myself making the full migration over to Pro. I wish I could do it today!

Hi Jeremy, Yes I am getting the error report dialog and have been sending in error reports. Some of the crash logs are rather large (5-7MB) and I have been sending those in manually to the arcgiserrorreport email. Thank you for the reply. -Tyler

I can also confirm I am running .NET Framework 4.5.2 by using RegEdit to check my version number. Our IT department also confirms this. The crash message says Framework Version: v4.0.30319 and Im wondering how this can be (unless 4.5.2 runs under the 4.0.3 version?). Secondly, the error mentions something about multi-threading, and Im wondering if this is related to ArcGIS Pro's new support of multi-threading and perhaps there is some sort of bug related to this. If this is a bug, is it is being passed on to ESRI support? Any information on this issue is welcome, for instance, are others having this same problem? Can others add multiple maps to the same project without issues? Am I alone on this? Thank you.

Just wanted to pass this along to anyone at ESRI. Every time I add an additional new map to a particular project (after having 1 map already open), ArcGIS Pro crashes. This appears to be repeatable, because every time I create a Project and attempt to add that additional map it happens. So essentially, right now 1 project = 1 map which makes storing and organizing my projects difficult to say the least. Im running a brand new Lenovo desktop with a fresh install of Windows 8. Event viewer (windows app) shows the following errors at the time of the crash (first error starts at the bottom): ----------------------------- Level Date and Time Source Event ID Task Category Error 5/4/2016 12:57 Microsoft-Windows-Perflib 1008 None The Open Procedure for service "WmiApRpl" in DLL "C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\wmiaprpl.dll" failed. Running summary statistics is very cumbersome (I have to export a new table just to see the sum of my selected records? Really?). Not only that, I cant look at multiple statistics (if I wanted to look at mean and std deviation for the same field for instance). Before I could easily scroll through multiple different fields for my selected features, with a convenient drop down menu, and see the mean, sum etc. Now I have to export a table, and manually create a SUM, STD DEV field for each field.... what if I have 50 fields I am trying to look through? Now i have to manually setup 50 fields for sum, 50 fields for std dev, 50 fields for std dev, and then export a table and go through it? Even with a 'ground-up rewrite', you need to examine and incorporate the functionality of the previous software. I love Pro, and have been using it with great delight, but I cant use it in my workflow if it doesn't have this feature. This tool isn't some obscure specialized tool, its something that every GIS user uses on a frequent basis.

Hard to believe this isnt in ArcGIS pro... I cant tell you the number of times I do a select by location/attribute and then right click my selected records - statistics, to quickly determine sum, mean, std deviation. This really really needs to be implemented in AGIS Pro, youve done such a great job with all the other tools and functionality, but this.. is really unbelievable something so useful and so simple hasnt been brought over from ArcMap. This should be at the top of the priority list for AGIS Pro.

Thanks Jennifer, I am recreating the non-vector tile layer as we speak with 20 levels of detail (big file). However, for the vector tile layer here are the properties: I can confirm that at 5 levels of detail I had an inappropriate scale range, which is why I am recreating it. I will report back once it finishes processing and I get it uploaded to AGO, so check back soon. Thanks for your help. Any thoughts on this vector tile layer, and why its not displaying would be welcome. I have made this vector tile layer public, so if needed you can access it (the screenshot shows private but have since changed to 'everyone').

Yes its showing up in the content pane in my map, just above my basemap layer, but not displaying in my map. Also, when I open the legend tab the tile package also shows up along with all my sub-layer groups and specific feature (roads, water areas, land areas, etc). Also in My Content, thumbnails for the tile packages are showing, so it appears there is data there, its just not displaying in my map. Would it help if I shared these tile packages with everyone so that you can view them yourself?

I have a stylized basemap I use on ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro Desktop and am trying to upload this to our ArcGIS online organization so I can use the same basemap for our online content (consistent look for our company). This basemap is based off of the Business Analyst original basemap that I have modified. It has various layer groups that turn on and off based on the current map scale (visibility ranges for 1M-2M, 1M-300k, 300k-150k, 150-100k, 100k-0). Now from what I understand, the best way to import this basemap layer I have created, is to create a tile package that I can then import into ArcGIS online, so this is what I did. I created my tile package in ArcGIS Pro, using the "Create Map Tile Package" tool (tiling format jpeg, 5 levels of detail, checked package for AGO, Bing, etc). Creating the tile package went smooth and the resulting package is about 255mb in size, which seems right. I was then able to upload that to AGO using the "Share Package" geoprocessing tool in ArcGIS Pro. I log into AGO and I publish the tile package. I add the resulting new 'Tile Layer' to my map, but I cannot see anything. The map is blank (except for the underlying topo basemap). I also created a Vector Tile Package and tried that as well, with the same results. Any thoughts? Any other ways I can bring my custom Business Analyst basemap into AGO? Could it be related to my visibility ranges/group layers? Regards Tyler PS: if needed I can change the share settings for this tile layer/package if it would be helpful.

@Darren, @Dan You both nailed it. I checked and the points are all overlapping/coincident. Apparently the geocode didnt properly code the addresses and coded them by zipcode (at the zipcode centroid). Never even occurred to me, but thankfully it did occur to you. Guess I should have checked this. Cheers

Hello, I have a point feature class that was created by geocoding a bunch of addresses out of an excel table. When these points are added to my map, it appears that only a small portion of them are displaying. I cannot determine why this is happening. The point feature class contains 30,539 points. I have selected a subset of around 25,152 of those 30k points. Yet on my map it is only showing around 20 point as being part of that selection. For some reason ArcMap is not displaying all of the points. I am wondering if there is some sort of setting turned on that is filtering out the display of all points in order to optimize display rendering or something along these lines? I have attempted to export this FC as a new FC and get the same result. Attached is a screenshot. Notice at the bottom where it says 25152 out of 30539 selected, yet in the map view I am only seeing about 15-20 points...(I had to hide some fields in my attribute table) Your contributions are greatly appreciated. Hopefully this is an easy one to solve for you experts out there.
