Change layer symbology in Experience Builder App in Enterprise Portal

It would be convenient for users to be able to change symbology of layers in an Experience Builder application while using the app in Enterprise Portal. Right now when they import a shapefile from a file, the symbology is automatically applied and cannot be changed. This causes confusion when importing multiple shapefiles that all appear to be the same color. There is a map layers setting to change symbology when importing a layer at runtime only in AGOL, but this setting is not available in Enterprise Portal.

I think this may already be available - there's a setting in experience builder for the Layer widget that lets you allow users to 'Change symbols for layers generated at runtime'. I'm working in ArcGIS Online.

I tried to test it but don't have a feature layer available to try it on, since most of our maps use map services in them. But if you enable this, and add a feature service (hosted) or just a standard feature server layer, it should give users the ability to customize the symbology.

If you end up trying this and have success, let me know!

Hey @JonM32 !

Thanks so much for replying! I was able to find that setting in AGOL and it does allow me to change symbology when I add a shapefile from file. However, this setting isn't available in an EB app in Enterprise Portal. I'll update my idea to add this information. Thanks so much!

Happy it was helpful!!

I remember checking this with our Enterprise account before. We have 11.3 and it's not available, but I assume it becomes in a new version.
